Okay... we all know that trying to post photos on Bowsite ABSOLUTELY SUCKS. You never know what way the pic will be turned or if the pic will even be yours!
To alleviate that problem, here is what you do.... [on a Smart Phone]
Take a Screenshot of the pic you want to upload on here. Save it on your phone and when you add it here, it will post correctly every time.
The downside is you'll have to remember to delete it from your phone's photo library [if you want]
On a computer, use the SNIPPING TOOL to capture the photo you want to upload, name it, save it to your desktop [.jpeg] and then it will be ready to add it here.
I hope this helps with the ongoing photo frustrations here on Bowsite
I haven't had any problem and the pictures turn out fine. But I am using a computer and not a smart phone. My phone is dumb, it is just used to make phone calls.
I'm not a computer geek but I wonder if it flips the pic because of the photo's pixel limit is too big in one dimension while the other dimension is under? Say you want to post a photo that is 800 tall x 1000 width in pixels (MP's). For example....say the BS vertical pixel limit is 1000MP's and the horizontal is 900MP's.......the BS photo recognition system will rotate that photo automatically to fit the two MP limits??? That's an educated guess there. Also....I think snipping reduces the MP's of a high MP photo. A while back I was dinking around with a rotating photo trying to fix the rotation and stumbled across that.
I don’t spend nearly as much time on bowsite as I used to. There are a couple of reasons, not related to this topic, one big one is the format of the site. If bowsite had rokslide format I bet the member totals would double overnight.
The problem is related to an iPhone upgrade a few years ago that changed the way photos orientate. The software we use to upload the pics does not recognize that change. The fix is part of a larger upgrade that is underway.
Scoot, it affects more than iPhone but iPhone set the standard. Without getting too techy, Apple added a small piece of data that is attached to every photo and it determines the orientation. That way you can take a pic horizontally or vertically from your phone and it will read that data to determine orientation when it displays. When iPhone did this, other platforms followed their lead and implemented it. The platform Bowsite is developed in can not read that data, so however the photo was shot on your phone, that's what you see.
Bake under share on YouTube you should see embed video. Copy that link (it longer than mst links) and post on bowsite. In main body of post not in the spot for a URL.
I just post mine and they seem to work. I did however have a picture show up on a thread that I had never seen. Looking forward to the new and improved Bowsite !
I've been posting screenshots of photos for a while now mainly because when I do a screenshot of a photo that's buried way down in my photo archives it brings the photo up to the top of the que and it's much easier to find it to post it.
t-roy. . . I was testing the seat system for my daughter on the trailer. couple days after this I took her in about half a mile on a farm road for her first deer hunt. And she killed a young buck and is hopefully hooked for life :)
The gate was locked, so it was this or walk. And I knew she'd be bitchin' after 200 yards :)
