Yellowstone Season 4
General Topic
Contributors to this thread:
I’ve seen the entire three previous seasons, three times. This is tv at its best.
PS: Who’s headed to the “Railroad Station”?
We need more one way trains!
Rip will be killed by the bikers with the new “best they have ever built RX5”
X2 Charlie!! Gotta admit, I'm a sucker for the Rip/Beth story line.
Not sure how this season could top the cliffhanger from season 3. Gotta believe there’s gonna be a lot of hell headed towards all of those responsible. Gonna get a little Western…
I don't watch much TV, but I will be tuning into Yellowstone 4.
Matt
Anyway to get this on Kodiak? :) Guess I'll catch up on the way home!
Doubt it Brotsky unless your on the boat with Homer Ocean they might have a TV and satellite.
Charlie X3. My wife and I are hooked. She said no hunting Sunday afternoon, don't want to be dragging out a deer. I said ok...unless the wind is right! We have followed their advice for many plans....F*** IT!
I was just gonna say take BRANDON.. Too slow
Rip n his lady are going on a tear against the development interests including natives. Some major player will take a train trip.
I just watched the movie Wind River. Has a bunch of Yellowstone actors. Opening scene is a coyote hunt.
RIP is about to kill everyone!!!!
I'm still wondering if Beth survived, haven't seen her in any of the airing promotion scenes and they seem to be keeping it under wraps...
I personally think Beth is the one that didn't make it Z.
Think I’ll name one of my best doe killing tree stands, “The Railroad Station”
They did some scene filming for this years episodes behind my house on a 400 acre piece and filmed a car type chase at night with the big lights etc....set up on the hill. They also filmed a scene in someone's back yard two streets up from my house and we drove by and could see a crew in the back yard with kids toys etc.... laying around. We're excited to see if we can pick out the scenes this year.
An acquaintance took Kevin Costner duck hunting here on the Bitterroot river.
That would be cool to take Costner on a duck hunt! Can't wait for the premier!
Better yet would be to take Brandon on a snipe hunt ! Oh wait, he’s on one every day ! Where is the “rolling on the floor laughing my ass off” emoji when you need it ?
I need to check that out. Haven’t watched a single episode. I’m not much of a tv watcher but a friend in Montana told me where they film the show. He said there ste traffic jams in front of the ranch entrance from people stopping to take pictures. I used to hunt the river bottoms where the Bitterroot runs through the property. Actually have a whitetail on the wall from there. I want to watch a few episodes just for old times sake.
I’m sure this will be playing on Rips Radio.

It would suck if they eliminated Beth. She's the biggest badass on the show!
DL, that link didn’t show up as any kind of music…
Looking forward to this season!! My Rut vacation starts this coming Saturday and we get the time change, then Sunday night 2 hour special…. I’ll be a little sleepy in the stand Monday morning.
If they ever eliminate RIP, I’ll never watch again
I typically don’t watch TV but I always make time to watch Yellowstone! Hell hath no fury like a scorned RIP!
It was supposed to be the Eagles Heartache tonight
I’m sure this will be playing on Rips Radio.

I like the show. But, I’m in full blown hunt mode. Two weeks off starting the 13th. A bunch of evenings getting stuff packed. I’ll get caught up in the end of December.
Last night I checked the DVR and realized I hadn’t watched the last two episodes of season three. Wow what a great surprise. I get what y’all were commenting about now.
As much as it is a guilty pleasure, let's face it,
Yellowstone is Taylor Sheridan expunging creative pablum so that he can write another
Sicario or
Hell or High Water. The former is superficial junk. The latter 2 are absolute masterpieces of cinema. On par with the Coen Bros.
I listen to Walker - cowboy musician (Ryan Bingham) on Pandora. Good stuff
Owl, it’s Sons of Anarchy with horses and better hats.
And the bikers will eventually kill Rip
lol. Interesting take Altitude. I tend to agree. What do they say? We only tell the same 4 stories over and over? Something like that. Definitely nothing new under the sun. We only iterate along a wide spectrum of competence.
I am amazed how many people are into this show. I tried watching it when it first came out and hated it. My wife just started watching it and I still cant make myself sit there and watch it.
I Loved to watch SOA as well.
Wow, surprised no comments on Sundays episodes...
It has cowboys, indians, mountains, horses and guns. A bit hokey at times but there is plenty of worse stuff on lately. I don't watch much TV but it holds my interest.
Obvious who planned the attack. The list of enemies still alive is pretty small.
All but Tim McGraws parts were good. He should stick to singing. Strike that. He should quit that too. :^))))
Are you talking about the ad for the Yellowstone Prequel?
Txhunter, they had a flashback scene where I assume it was John Duttons grandpa. cut a steer out of the herd to give to the original inhabitants of that area. The guy in the Buffalo coat was anti gun, poor acting, Tim McGraw. His piss poor acting really degraded the episode. But it’s just a TV show so. :1 later I was over it :^)))) Also , yes, he is the lead for Prequel.
Also, when I cook hamburger helper (I'm single and have two teenage boys so I cook it a lot) it does not look like the stuff Beth made! And I'm pretty sure the "steer" Tim McGraw gave to the Indians was actually a heifer.
"It has cowboys, indians, mountains, horses and guns. A bit hokey at times but there is plenty of worse stuff on lately. I don't watch much TV but it holds my interest. Obvious who planned the attack. The list of enemies still alive is pretty small."
I think it was either Nighthorse or that Malcom Strand guy...
greg simon, you are correct about the "steer." I had to laugh.
While watching I actually thought to myself, why is he cutting that one out of the herd, that isn't a steer. Surprising the Dutton's made it given the patriarch didn't know the difference between a heifer and a steer. ;-)
I didn’t notice it was a heifer. I must have been too focused on the poor acting and riding by Tim McGraw
Yeah, 1883 is not gonna be good.
Did you also notice that that "steer" had a white ear tag? I don't think they used ear tags in 1883....
Did anyone notice or think that Beth got a new set of puppies?
"I didn’t notice it was a heifer. I must have been too focused on the poor acting and riding by Tim McGraw"
It would have been good, but then they used Tim McGraw-ha. But then again, he is an Indian Outlaw, half Cherokee and Choctaw with buffalo briefs, so there is that.
My guess it was Malcom Beck that set up the attacks or someone affiliated to him if he is truly dead.
Forget the train station.. Beth needs to go swimmin in the water tank every episode ??
They certainly showed enough of her this time to keep us interested….
Kayce looking he really knows how to handle a firearm... wonder what his background is??
Bowsniper is that because he has not shot a camera woman? Like Alex Baldwin ;)
Season 1 shows Kayce is ex-military and spent time in Irag and/or Afghanistan.
I think Dutton is losing his marbles..... WTH... a quick draw at the Station with a low life? Shoulda just let Rip handle it.... =D
Liked the cattle guard scene. Flippin' money moves in and disrespects local culture, local people just trying to make a hard working living. Crap on em just because it's what your self centered azz does. What state was he from again??? Llamas indeed....
My money is on Jamie with the cash to fund it and his "dad" with the prison connections, the master mind was working from prison. Working from home.... another covid thang I guess....
Dutton will give to the tribe in the end.
^^^ no, Monica and Tate will walk away with it all. Some kind of provision that Tim McGraw-ha set up way back when he gave that steer to Monica's great-great-great grandpa. And, since Kayce is married to Monica and is Tate's dad, it will stay in the Dutton line in perpetuity.
That might just work. Because for super liberal Tim McGraw to be involved there has to be some social justice coming
It's really gonna get good when everyone finds out that Rainwater is an uncle to Monica that nobody knew she had...
TD - "My money is on Jamie with the cash to fund it and his "dad" with the prison connections, the master mind was working from prison."
Me thinks same... Thought it was going to be Roark until he got snake bit, but now think you're right,,, unless it's the California bikers...
Bob did it. The severance offered to Beth was hush money. She called their bluff, Bob balked.
Don’t really care about the whole kid thing with Beth and Rip
Seems the attack was orders from a prison. Walker and Jamie’s biological dad both have prison connections, so might be something there.
I’m watching the show, but I’ve never liked Costner and don’t like his character (John). I get a kick out of the “ blew up half a town, killed two really high profile guys (Becks) , about fifty others, have a monstrous big shootout on a busy road, kill some other rich guys and everybody is just having breakfast the next morning like nothing happened. Nobody really noticed.
And definitely the old Indian burial site from 1883 will come into play at some point.
I thought the old burial site already came into play... stopping the current construction when they found a body part. Tribal dances, ceremony, etc.
^ ^. I think that was just a generic site but you could be right and the forensics/dna will link up to be relevant to the plot. (or lack thereof)
Just think, if Tate inherits the ranch and is half native American. In a sense the land would be returned to the Indians. Sounds like a loop hole to me.
Ambush, it’s Sons of Anarchy on horses
If you like Red Dirt music, Yellowstone is bringing a lot of great musicians into the limelight. I just saw that "All I See is You" by Shane Smith and the Saints (which the band was actually mentioned when they loaded Jimmy into the truck) is currently sitting at #6 in country on the iTunes charts, and #20 in all of music. Pretty cool that a little Texas band with a small following is blowing-up over night.
Enough with the bro country that's out on the radio, give me more real life songs about drinking, stealing, depression, and killing.
Kscowboy
They did a tribute to John prine at the end of last weeks episode. So good
kscowboy, you are correct. They also had the good judgement to feature the Marcus King Band in their soundtrack. The show can't be but so trashy no matter how hard it tries.lol
"give me more real life songs about drinking, stealing, depression, and killing."
Yep, that pretty much describes my life, except the killing part ain't happening at the moment with the shortage of deer in my area. Leading to an increase in items number one and three.
As far as stealing, that's pretty much confined to stealing glances at appropriately-sized yoga pants...
I don't drink much these days. Tore it up as a young man. As for stealing, my wife's Sequoia was stolen out of our driveway a few weeks ago and all of our treestands were cleaned out of our private spot. Not much for depression but that same private spot was lost last week due to family feuds among the owners (Hmm, I wonder who took the stands?). No fun to lose it right in the best week of the whitetail rut with time off already planned and it being far enough away to make getting set back up on public a pain. Not much killing here either. May have to revisit that drinking part :^)
Ill probably get roasted by ya'll but I refuse to watch any movie or tv show that features actors/actresses who are Anti 2A. If I recall correctly KC made some rather disheartening statements back in 2015/2016 regarding whether us "pee-ons" should be allowed to own guns.
^^^ I'm really not interested in what the hollywood types think. Really not going to let them dictate what I do and don't do...
Where you guys heard that about Costner, never heard him say anything anti about hunters nor gun ownership and I keep my ears open for stuff like that as to what I'll watch... Had heard he was a hunter years ago (I think somebody here on Bowsite seen him hunting deer in Texas years ago with his sons) and recently duck hunted off the Yellowstone set somewhere in Montana...
Zbone's Link
You guys made me look it up:
https://www.usatoday.com/videos/life/2015/01/26/22372769/
I love Bethisms.
"Lady you crave trouble, you just don't want resistance."
"I love you. I'll see you at the house. But, $&^K you...."
And something else about losing your car keys.......
All caught up now. Season has been solid, feel like they’re reaching on a couple things. Beth and RIP are still awesome and Jamie will always be a B$&:ch
Zbone, interesting comments. Answers the question about his support for hunting (affirmative) but smartly left a little wiggle room so the Hollywood left doesn’t cancel him outright.
Sounds like a conservative to me. I bet Taylor Sheridan is too.
Had the hippy vegan with chlamydia overnight for breakfast. =D
Interesting the little twist with the animal rights/ANTIFA folks showing up. A bit of support I think for ranching. Wonder if the CA guy stuck under the cattle guard called em in? I've cleaned out a couple cattle guards... not a place ya want to go take a nap in.... every nasty critter for miles loves em.
The whole Lloyd thing I don't like. Have a feeling he's takin' a train ride, but he's one of favorite characters. Was reading.... he's one of a few in the show that was a real cowboy. Or indian. Mo Brings Plenty is a rodeo icon and Lakota legend. The scene of him at home, that was his real wife and kid. Lots of cool little things in the show.
Good show but has lost a bit of its mojo. The cast is full of libs as well but which ones aren’t.
Someone should slap that hat off of his head for wanting to take a pic with Francis ORourke :^)))
His fake cowboy cred should be pulled immediately:^))))
Costner is no conservative. He campaigned for Obama and endorsed “Mayor Pete” in the last prez election. He’s actually a hypocrite that wants to have his cake and eat it too. That said, I think he’s a good actor and I can compartmentalize if I have to. There’s no way you can dodge all the liberals in this world unless you want to be a hermit. (I’m damn close to that now)
Would be tough to film a show anymore using only "put of the closet" conservatives...
Taylor Sheridan is in the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame and his wife is a barrel racer. He is part owner of the 6666 ranch. Although he stays apolitical in interviews, he gives some clues that he's probably a closet conservative.
Waiting for all conservative made movies, TV shows, and music to find something entertaining would be a long wait.
Costner is playing a role of course, so we don't really know his true leanings. But I did enjoy the scene where his character informs the blonde moon-bat vegan protester that the machinery used to grow & harvest her vegetables resulted in the death of every living creature in those fields.
I think a great many in the entertainment industry (and liberal leftists in general) ideology depends on who they are sleeping with at the time......
Hypocrites by nature, being firmly based probably impedes a literal fantasy, make believe life. Very few have the FU money and power to not give a flip... like an Eastwood or a couple others. Folks have tried to "cancel" them and failed, often miserably failed. But even those with their own minds have to be smart about it to some degree.
I try not to talk politics over the counter at work either. Money (food, clothing, shelter) is green and has no other color, identity or pronouns. It's just business, I don't have to live nor play with anyone I don't care for. It's nothing personal unless someone wants to make it that way..... or shoots you on a set or something....
Snorted a beer out my nose when the hippie chick accused Beth of having a boob job and Beth shot back “God gave me these and looks like he gave me yours too!”
Last episode was getting pretty out there. I know it's TV but couldn't really see anything "honorable" in finishing off an old beat up cowboy. Stretching the "cowboy code" thinner than Lulu's on a fat chick. Dislike John more with each passing episode.
I disliked Beth first couple of episodes, than really warmed up to her character when she could take it as well as give it. Now she's just too much relentless mean bitch.
Series is really going downhill now. IMO.
Series is really going downhill now. IMO.
I wouldn’t say downhill, they’ve got a good thing going, just don’t start reaching for storylines
Very true bigswivle. Just gotta go with the flow and not think too hard. It is TV.
Yeah, didn't care for the Loyd/Walker thing either...
I realize not many like Jimmy, but I kinda do...
Never heard of Taylor Sheridan before the series, but in last weeks episode realized in one of the commercials he's one of the characters, Travis the obnoxious show horse trainer/rider... Can't stand his character, and he seems to be an a-hole in real life too...
They always have to reach for shock factor after a couple of successful seasons. Interested to see if they can keep the ship righted. I bet it will get weird.
Zbone- Sheridan also directs Wind River and Hell or High Water. Both very good movies with a western feel.
Zbone, I like Jimmy to. Most authentic character on the show.
This season hasn't been all that great (except for the opening of episode 1 !!)
I just gotta believe these ugly twists and turns are leading up to something big that I'm gonna love....
I need more Rip and less Jimmy this season
I love Jamie’s reaction every time he sees Beth! He’s such a coward. Helluva plot twist with his Dad. Beths gonna find out.
Rip didn't leave much to splice with on that fence, looked like he cut it right at the T post. Probably safer for the actor, but makes the job a real pain.... funny the things you notice when you've been dare....
10 episodes I think? Only 4 left. Have a feeling stuff is gonna start happening real fast. Kayce is getting way too comfy. Jamie has a.... family? Beth's teeth now firmly embedded in Jamie's azz. Dad is still a SOB who wants em all dead. Lloyd thing is up in the air. Which way the rez gonna go? Is the blue haired snuff dippin' cowgirl really gone? She carries the brand doesn't she? Jimmy's girlfriend gonna follow him? “I hope the good Lord gave you a big dick, Jimmy. Because He sure shorted you on brains.”
Days of Our Lives on steroids....... =D
Great to see Barry Corbin in the 6666 cuts, I don't know how many movies, mostly westerns I've seen him in. (In all honesty I knew the voice as soon as I heard it and mostly the face.... but had to look up his name...) Good to see folks still kickin' and workin'. A friend told me the other old cowboy with him is a 93 year old Texas legend Buster Welch who's won nearly every award involving working horses there is. Cool stuff. Cool history. They weave a few things into this show.
They do weave just enough real horsemen in to make it semi legit.
I’m thinking right before they’re about to lose the ranch, (how ever that happens). Dutton will produce a document that was originally drafted in 1888, that if they ever got rid of the land that it had the revert to the original tribe of Indians. so it will somehow end up back in the Indian hands.
Virtue signal. Mike drop
TD, I noticed the same thing when he cut the fence.
If any of you want to be on the show just donate to Sheridan’s friend’s cancer fight. Top bidder gets two days of training at his ranch and then a spot on the show during an episode.
I worked with a guy, based in South Dakota, who I knew very well and he took Costner pheasant hunting for a day then had him over to his home for dinner with his family. Much more to the story that I won’t go into since I’d be expressing someone else’s opinion.
My wife was a huge fan of his so we went to see him and his band several years ago. It was by far the worst live music event I’ve ever attended. It started out as a 20 minute vanity filled self promotion followed by horrible music and vocals. We left the show before it was over and didn’t watch Costner movies or shows again until Yellowstone. It’s a hell of a good show but I think it’s a good thing it’ll conclude after this season since it seems as if they’re getting close to jumping the shark…..
If any of you want to be on the show just donate to Sheridan’s friend’s cancer fight. Top bidder gets two days of training at his ranch and then a spot on the show during an episode.
As with all good series, season 4 is fading fast. US likes to drag them out when most should peak and be gone end of season 2 - 3 at the latest. Especially the action ones having to try to top the next threat of all threats
If I had to bet money one it, I'd bet Altitude was right, they will end up "saving" the ranch by giving it to the tribe. It's the politically correct thing to do.....
In real life when John dies his kids condo it into ranchettes with HOAs and maintenance fees up the wazzoo....
I have about had it with Yellowstone. For no good reason Rip goes off on the most reliable man he has- Louis. Books are more appealing to me now the tv. The show was ranked number one this year. I think people are just sick of effeminate men and shows with women that are all greater then life. Every commercial is a social engineering experiment. I sure did not realize that all couples are interracial and that only men did laundry.
TD, I noticed the same thing when he cut the fence.
Did you see the episode when they went deer hunting? For hunters, it was kinda a commercial for Badlands gear within the episode… not sure non-hunters would have noticed the branding..
"Someone should slap that hat off of his head for wanting to take a pic with Francis ORourke :^))) His fake cowboy cred should be pulled immediately:^))))"
Your wrong here. Ryan Bingham is a real cowboy and was on the rodeo team at Tarleton State, a very good college rodeo program. I believe he was a bull rider. He's definitely a real cowboy and an exceptional musician.
Now with that being said, Let's Go Brandon! I can't stand Robert Francis either.
Kscowboy, I get what your saying. He’s not just an actor. And in todays society. Anyone wearing a western hat is a Cowboy.
But people equate a country star wearing a western hat and a rodeo star wearing a western hat as being a Cowboy.
It can be true. There were some country stars and rodeo stars that were real Cowboys.
But riding a bull or other rodeo sports makes you an athlete. Not a Cowboy.
I team rope, have a lot of western hats. Horses. I even own a donkey and 2 pickups. That doesn’t make me a Cowboy.
But again, your right in modern society he may be considered one. Probably not on the four six’s
The ranch will go to Tate and the tribe will have to learn to live with disappointment like everyone else.
They will just auction off a bighorn sheep hunt on the ranch and make enough money to make everyone happy!!!
I don't own a western hat, have never roped in competition, and the horses I've owned were either riding horses, pack horses, or really expensive show horses. But I've spent a hell of a lot of time rounding up, moving, and rasslin, off the back of a Honda Japanese cutting horse, then sorting, de-nutting and dehorning, and branding cows and calves after we pen and sort them. Does that make me a "part time" cowboy, even without the hat?
I know a good number of guys here in CO that sport the whole western getup and really look the part, but have never been within s#itting distance of a cow. They dress like they think cowboys dress, but they sure ain't cowboys... Big hat, no cattle.
Yeah, Lou that was the point I was trying to make. I won’t try to define for everyone, what a legit Cowboy is. That’s not my place. A lot of cowboys don’t wear Cowboy hats. They may even ride a 4 wheeler or side by side more than horse these days. But I know what I have in my mind as the real McCoy
All I can say is that my wife was obsessing over Yellowstone, even while we were hunting in North Macedonia a few weeks back. I'm trying to photograph the mouflon I just arrowed, ... and she's playing with big "Y's".
I've long given up on thinking too hard while watching it. Especially for a real estate attorney, and all these ridiculous plot lines and scenarios about taking the ranch by condemnation and eminent domain, which cannot be used for economic development purposes. So....I'll just watch, laugh, sip my drink, and not think too much.
(But....could we please bring back the horse trough?)
Rexall Rex's
I'll be disappointed if the write out Lloyd and Teeter they wear the brand for life
More commercials than show.
That's why you DVR it and watch 15 minutes after it starts, to zoom through the ads.
Agreed, then I only have 25 minutes of show, which was my point…the show is losing it.
Lou, question since it pertains somewhat to the other thread on crossing corners…Did the LO have a legal right to put cattle guards in? If so, is that just “western style” justice that LE could throw him under it?
I get it was un-neighborly, but I am asking about legal rights. Thanks
HfW, I’m guessing you would have to check the language in a specific easement.
I don't think the show is much constrained by legal, moral or logical parameters. "A law and power unto themselves" come to mind.
I mean, can you imagine if an LEO caught you parked in the wrong spot on the road, threw you to the ground, tossed your cell phone into a watery ditch, then left you cuffed to an obscured No Parking sign where no one might see you in days. Yeah, might be some squealing about abuse of power.
Reality is suspended at the start of the show and continues until the end. All tv does this, but this one…………
What did the belt buckle have on it that Lloyd traded for a guitar?
I go across many cattle guards going to my ranch. But every one of them has a regular gate right beside it for livestock. Not sure you could make someone do that, but it is essential.
It's fiction. Just like Star Wars, Rio Bravo, Hamlet and a decent amount of hunting shows :^)
In real life it takes about hundred years for that much drama to happen but I still enjoy reading or watching some stuff that condenses it into an hour or two, 300 pages or a several seasons. With the exception of most hunting shows...they get skipped.
If it was a documentary on ranch life, it wouldn't appeal to the numbers it gets now because watching a guy drive T posts or bale hay for an hour is boring.
John running for Governor should be interesting. Lots of skeletons in that closet. Literally.
Also, didn’t I notice what was on the belt buckle that was traded for a guitar but you can get a Yellowstone belt buckle yourself for only $150! https://yellowstonetvshop.com/products/the-yellowstone-dutton-ranch-silver-belt-buckle
dryscreek..... I know it's just monday but that's the funniest meme I've seen all week!
Teeter's back! Lloyd too it seems! Rip moving to the big house? All is well with the world......
Now Jamie has really snapped.... him and Psycho Dad will be going for the Duttons full throttle. Beth has re-purposed the antis and vegans. I see big drama for Jimmy when the girlfriend shows up in TX, not just masturbating stallions.... LOL! I bet a couple million urban folks across the country are just very very confused after last night.....
Something in the air coming for Kayce. The horse thieves? The new girl goes after his wife? If Jamie kills off John will Kayce run like the cattlemen wanted him to? Setting up some serious drama for him. (Makes me wish they hadn't killed off the other brother (Lee?) early on. )
They were slidein' into the ditches the last couple episodes IMO.... got their chains on now I hope....
John running for governor..... hard to see that wrapping up in 3 episodes. A season 5? I don't know if that would be a good thing or not. They've surprised me just enough... I don't think I'll know that till episode 10.
JohnMC's Link
Jamie will end up choosing the Duttons. They are setting up the opposite so that's my guess. Oldest plot move in the book.
I know its for the "personal sacrifice" drama of it all, but how little does the Yellowstone pay their top hands that Lloyd has to sell a prized possession to buy a cheap guitar!?!
Watched it once wasn’t interested.
The belt buckle said Angry Americans Tour 2004 on it? Not sure if there is any significance or relation to the show with the buckle?
Kaycee is Gonna end up running for Governor. It is the solution to John not wanting to run. He was already approached by the livestock associations. He has a good solid relationship With the Reservation. He will also be the link that brings Jamie back into the family as Jamie’s dad will target Kaycees family and go To far for Jamie to Ignore.
There is some weak fake crap they happens. Like the BLM holding the horses with brands and not calling…
The tribe will get most or all Of the ranch. John will give it to them
Well.... ends in a typical Beth day..... make up with Dad, make a lil kid cry, go on conjugal visit to prison to kill the con that set up her Godfather family assassination, kidnap a priest and get married to Rip, goes to kill her brother but instead sets him up to torture him for life (shoulda take option 1 or 2).... tells Dad, no Jamie is still alive, but you OWN him now.... kinda tired, been a long day, going to bed.....
Not quite the last years ending. Would have been tough to jump the shark on that one.... but enough bait to keep me on the line for next year.....
Seen the thread a few times….never read much into it. However, my uncle got my to start watching season one New Year’s Eve…..ya I’m hooked now
Solid season, looking forward to next year.
Jimmy made the right choice. Both actually.
Excellent season. Can’t wait for season 5.
I’m also enjoying 1883.
And while it’s not filled with western scenery and the rural lifestyle we all love, my wife and I also like Taylor Sheriden’s other show ‘Mayor of Kingstown’. Jeremy Rener is great in that character.
That Taylor Sheridan guy creates some great TV.
I agree Pat. I don’t have tv but watch when I’m at work. Yellowstone is good. 1883 is good to. Mayor of Kingstown is really good. It’s like the city version of Yellowstone ha
No real cliff hanger this time, but we are hooked and will be back. But to have to wait until next November!!!??
I just hope Kevins voice holds out. Sounds a little worse every year.
This woman needs caged??
This woman needs caged??
Didj'a notice John Dutton called Jimmy..... Jim?
=D
I hate watching TV but easily get sucked in during the winter months. Yellowstone filled the bill. Looking forward to the latest season of Ozark, now.
Regarding Costner's voice, I assumed that was just part of the character?
Fixing to start mayor of kingstown
Realy good episode, especially after the last few plodding along. Loved the idea of Beth threatening to let Rup loose on Jamie!
Only thing that bothered me was Beth meeting up with that dude in prison. The guards take him for a conjugal visit he doesn't even know is scheduled? Beth giving the prisoner some long winded speech and him not just taking the conjugal visit, while she is there and dressed the part? Nonsense.
The Beth/Rip quick kidnap marriage was fun though. Lloyd still a strong character adding to the show each episode!
I hope Jimmy stays in Texas and never comes back to the show...lol.
hope Jimmy stays in Texas and never comes back to the show...lol.
This, lol
How does Jimmy get not just one babe but 2 when the other cowboys, according to my wife, are WAY better looking.
In the Yellowstone's Montana winter is short and only brings a skiff of snow. That's one special ranch!
But we do really like the show despite some if its unrealistic aspects.
Sounds like Jimmy may be a main character in 6666. Possibly Walker, too.
Yellowstone is the best show on TV right now....IMO. We are getting sucked into 1883 as well. The Mayor hasn't captured our attention yet. I'd nominate John Dutton/Rip Wheeler for Prez./VP in 2024!!!!
Blue Buck...haha, I always thought the same thing! They must be in Neverwinter, MT!
Jimmy has my favorite line from the whole show when he gets recruited to help with the stud program.
"I just jacked off a horse."
Midwest, Costner has that same raspy voice on pretty much any character he has played in the last few years. Makes me think he smokes. Luckily, none of his characters do.
However, not nearly as raspy in this interview, so I hope it is part of his character. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PA4YohVNUnc
Ambush, when I used to breed horses we would recruit young female vet students from C.S.U. to help with collecting. Lots of giggles and snide remarks involved.. :-)
I used to Vet a pasofino farm with 15 stallions and 150 brood mares.Collected the stallions and shipped semen.Probably 15 women worked there and not 1 was interested in males...
Jimmy’s gotta have a wrench pulling two girls like that
Been short little ads running for the Bitteroot Mountain Land Trust. I've been thinking for a while that the eventual resolution is not a gift to the Indians, but rather the sale or grant of a conservation easement on the ranch. Multiple ways that can happen, but bottom line is the ranch can't be developed, but they can continue to run it as a cattle ranch....and even give others access to it. (Often, the land conservation non-profits will even pay the landowner quite well for the rights.) Now that they keep running ads for this land trust, and seeing Beth suddenly get concerned about developing the property, and knowing this is exactly the kind of thing the land trust is designed to protect.....my prediction is that something like this will eventually come to pass in the final season of the show. (Whenever that might be.)
I would have been ok with Jamie leaving Beth at the train station.
Getting too weird for me.
“I read where Taylor Sheridan developed the characters psychologically like they did in the first True Detective. I really like this aspect even though I am not a fan.”
The first True Detective was one of the best shows ever. Incredible acting by Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson along with a great story line. Too bad the others weren’t nearly as good.
Yeah…….Beth has become a turnoff and unlike others, I have enjoyed the Jimmy side story. I enjoy it, but I’m afraid it’ll get really weird before it’s over. If not, I’ll be a bigger Sheridan fan.
The Train Station gotta be stacked high with bodies now ya could probably see them from the road...8^)))
Yeah, cant wait until Beth tells Rip about the abortion/sterilization, they left a lot of story line open for a season 5... Am guessing all the main characters signed on for another season or they wouldn't have left that many stories open...
Yeah, I too am into 1883 and Mayor of Kingstown... Also really like the first True Detective series too, as also the movies "Hell or High Water", and the first "Sircario"... Also liked the second Sircario and they left the door open for a third movie trilogy...
I liked the 1883 and Mayor 5eases but it's too bad they tease then go to Paramount Plus-no way I'm paying more.
Really liked True Detective too
The 6666 is about as real as it gets. Amazing place. A vet that worked for me did an internship there while in vet school. She was very impressed and enjoyed her time there.
Think some of our college students search for enlightenment like Casey, but instead of freezing in the great outdoors they smoke a lot of special grass.
Yeah they left out the peyote part
Beth did what she did to shut down that little squeaky voice Oompa Loompa CEO. The state AG (Jamie) will be forced to put an indefinite hold on development...
“Beth did what she did to shut down that little squeaky voice Oompa Loompa CEO. The state AG (Jamie) will be forced to put an indefinite hold on development...“
…and all Jamie would’ve had to do is rip the cell phone from Beth’s hands and stomp it into the ground but he’s scared to death of her and it’s hard to blame him….. Lastly, if she used it against him the cops would find all the other bodies her daddy had dumped there so she’d never use it and he’d figure that out in the real world. But it’s TV so they make up what suits their story line. As TD alluded to, at least they didn’t jump the shark like last year’s ending.
I still have a few episodes of the last season of Breaking Bad to watch as soon as I’m done I’ll start on this Jellystone thing
"…and all Jamie would’ve had to do is rip the cell phone from Beth’s hands and stomp it into the ground..."
Sure, I guess...but that wouldn't go anywhere and be absolutely pointless.
She'da just shot him. You know she's packin" and she was an inch away from droppin' him earlier. I think she married Rip figuring she was going to be either dead or in prison. Pretty much put the pistol to his head and told him she was in his office. Well, and his hands were kinda full...
Can't quite figure why Jamie doesn't tell Beth, "I didn't get you pregnant and and it wasn't my idea to kill Rip's baby. Those were both your decisions." He also should have just told John and Kaycee that his dad ordered the hit and do what you will with that info.
But it is TV and that is the signal to put reality aside.
Ambush, I know its a TV show, but I agree.... He only tried to help her IMO... That part of the show doesn't make sense to me... did he force her to do it??
I was hunting at my wife’s cousin’s place this weekend and they were watching it. They went back to season one when they found out I hadn’t seen any of it.
I’m hooked now and up to episode 5! Always liked Costner as an actor..............especially his western stuff.
The Duttons sure have an interesting way of taking care of their problems! Wish I could take a few people I know to “The train station!” ;-)
I was a little late to the Yellowstone game, but signed up for the Peacock app and am almost done with S3. GREAT TV - it's like Breaking Bad, Ozark and The Sopranos, all combined into a show with much better scenery. Wish they could show a little more hunting and fishing thats the only way to make it better. I will be behind on S4, will have to figure out how to watch that because Peacock only has up to S3.
You can buy season 4 on Amazon prime for 20$
It's make believe so can't pick it apart too much. Obviously Beth can't hold Jamie's photo over him. There's a dozen or more other bodies in that ravine all connected to her dad and Rip.
^^ except Jamie knows all about the train station too, so wouldn't that make him an accessory?
We love the show, even though we have to suspend disbelief over some of the hokey stuff (Rip stopping a grizz in his tracks with a .30 .30.)
C'mon Lou. You know darn well it was a 30-30 Dutton.
Ambush and Fields, Jamie told the doctor to take the baby without Beth’s knowledge or permission. At least that’s my memory……
Probably the only time I’ll approve of abortion. :-)
drycreek, Beth came to Jamie saying she was pregnant and needed an abortion and he had to take her. Jamie neglected to tell her that all abortions at the clinic came with a free hysterectomy. (another real stretch)
I think they are trying to point out at one time in history abortion was illegal, only legal way was a major surgery? Row vs Wade was '73 I think so her being in her teens would put her in her 60s now so the time line is sketchy for sure. It was on a rez so maybe rez law was different? Or medical clinics made their own policy WRT abortion? Or maybe trying to imply that routine non-consensual sterilization was being done to various races as matter of policy say 20 or 30 years ago....
That would allow for whatever entry level of woke a person wants to come in at......
OK, yeah..... it's a movie......
" Or maybe trying to imply that routine non-consensual sterilization was being done to various races as matter of policy say 20 or 30 years ago...."
TD has it. And there is some factual history there in the case of Indigenes.
I missed out on Breaking Bad, then a year or so ago they had all seasons on demand and I binged on most of the first season and got into it, then walked away from it for a couple weeks and when I returned they removed all seasons and episodes... I was po'ed and been waiting for it to return on demand since...
I just started season 2. Gotta LOVE it when they unloaded the bull into the bar after the ranch hands got beat up. Then unleashed their "Dutton Justice" on the perps as they fled out the side door! ;-)
On the topic of great TV... since mentioned here, the Breaking Bad spinoff "Better Call Saul" is also excellent!
I found season 4 "free" on Paramountnetwork.com. Internet viewing is free for all the seasons. Then I noticed my new Sony "smart tv" has a configuration for apple airplay, even though it's a "google tv". I configured it to accept airplay, and since I have an i-Pad, I am now streaming S4, E1 from my i-Pad, turned on airplay and it's playing on my TV.
Ok that sounds like a lot - but just knowing it's free on the internet is a good start, and for those of you that know how to cast from PC, laptop, notebook, i-Pad, or even smartphone - have at it.
I watched ONE episode, because it's filmed on a ranch down the road from where I lived in Montana. Not the least bit interested otherwise...just another "Dallas" type soap opera.
I watched this series. A really fun western. Recently, I have been drawn to political and historical series. The themes of racism and mass imprisonment are now very popular. Now I'm reading various articles on
https://gradesfixer.com/free-essay-examples/mass-incarceration/ and came across an informative book Mass Incarceration in The Age of Colorblindness - in it This is a kind of report on the American system of imprisonment, where more black prisoners are nominated than white ones. I recommend reading it, it is very interesting and informative for everyone interested in this topic.
Yellowstone is the mid-west version of the Soprano's.
SB, I know some owners of huge ranches. If the real life drama of those ranches was a show, it would get canceled after the pilot for being too boring. Yellowstone is T.V.. You have to suspend disbelief and enjoy it for what it is.
You mean there really aren't Super Heroes? No Wolverine? I know Iron Man died, but now you're telling me he never existed..... crap... poppin' all my party balloons... happy now?
Sheesh..... Next you'll tell me Santa Claus isn't real...... never mind... Gotta get back to Witcher 3 New Game +..... almost done with Velen.... got two more weeks till 1883 ep6.....
Basically..... it's all called entertainment. Fun. Games. Some enjoy it. Some don't.
Yellowstone is about the crap going on in Montana present day....which I saw plenty of while I lived there.
Going on everywhere in the West, my friend. O ly difference is Yellowstone is supposedly a multi-generational ranch, while everywhere else its big tech money, big energy money, Hollywood and Nashville money buying the ranches and creating the drama.
Internet informs season 5 is coming, filming begins in May...
Taylor Sheridan just bought the 6666 ranch for $192 million. Seems like he's doing alright..
I believe he is the "face" of it. Was a group that bought it, but yeah...he's doing alright!
Just started watching season 4 on Peacock. Kick ass season premiere! Although kinda unrealistic how Beth and John keep surviving these attacks.....................Beth a bombing and John multiple gunshot wounds.
Meanwhile the “bad guy” (fly fishing exec) dies in less than 2 min from a Rip-inflicted rattlesnake bite! ;-)
I suppose NOW you’re a snakebite expert, rut nut!! ;-)
Well Troy..................Let’s just say I know more about rattlesnakes now than I ever wanted to know! ;-)
