Well they would be...except in Ma Nature there's ALWAYS plenty of "help", and that help doesn't care if dinner is still "alive and kicking"!

Woods Walker is right. Deer are tough. The " lay down and die "thing happens after disease, starvation due to worn or damaged teeth, serious injuries, has debilitated them beyond the point of their immense survival capabilities. Natural but Not pleasant.
