One of the guitarists for the Oak Ridge Boys is an avid archer. I know that Louis Mandrell is one hell of a trap shooter, but I don't know if she hunts too. I believe that Gerald McRaney and Jimmy Carter both turkey hunt. Charlton Heston is an obvious answer.

Not defending him, don't know about his anti contributions but Buffet is(at least says he is) a big hunter. He had a special bow made for him ( i forgot what type it was, may have been a mathews) with his name on it from the company. My buddy owns a pro-shop and set it up for him, and showed me the bow.My buddy said he hunts all over the place.

George Straight is a very avid hunter, he dosent bowhunt. On christmas eve this year he killed a 210" nontypical off of his ranch. Back in 1988 he killed the largest typical reported in south Texas. Hes taken a 430"+ elk and has been to Africa the past 4 years. Took two lions and plains game this year....
Alot of celebrites and big time CEO's and congress men come down to this area of the country all the time. Go to any of the small airports in south Texas during deer season and you run a good chance of running into a celebrity. The King Ranch is holding its annual celebrity quail hunt this weekend so theres going to be a few in town for the next few days....

I don't know for sure, but I read about Robert Redford in a mag. and he was asked if he had been in "some town out west" and he said that "he hunted mountain lion down there, didn't get anything but liked it". A friend of mine is a state trapper here in Utah. Many years ago they were having Yote problems on the back of Timpanogas (where BearClaw's cabin was) somewhat close to where Redford has a "summer home" and his ski resort.
Redford met up with him on his horse and said "There are no Coyotes around here." My friend invited him to hang out with him while he called in one and shot it. Redford said "Wow, can we get this on camera?" My friend respectfully declined.
As a teenager I worked for a fence company that put in a lot of fence by Sundance Ski resort. Redford was always around riding an orange Yamaha. He had long hair and a beard while he was filming Jerimiah Johnson. He was very kind to us. You know how to skin Griz?

I did see Capt Kirk (William Shatner) doing a PETA ad recently concerning taking care of your pets. It was shortly after Katrina hit town.
Jim Kelly of Buffalo Bills fame. His coach at the time was Marv Levy who I believed sponsored an anti-hunting video for the schools. Kelly hunts with Merril Hodge who has a hunting lodge in eastern Idaho.
I've seen hunting shows featuring a former tight end for the Cowboys but his name escapes me. He was with the 'Boys during their heydays.

Joe Rogan is a big bowl Hunter and does a lot for bow hunting like having guys like Adam Greentree and Cameron Hanes on his podcast to talk about bow hunting. He's also been on Steve Renellas Meat Eater a few times and got Cam Hanes to start his podcast. He said that he really has a hate for factory farming practices and was about to go vegan when Steve Renellas took him out on a hunt and it changed everything for him. He's now a champion of spreading a wealth of knowledge about the good of killing what you eat.

Somebody mentioned Ned Yost, formerly of the (my!) Milwaukee Brewers, and present manager of the KC Royals. They were recently in Milwaukee, and the guys were taiking about Ned being in a bad fall accident setting up a stand on his ranch. His wife finally found him literally monments from dying. He's still not 100%.
Also, Boo Weekly and Steve Stricker of the PGA are huge hunters...Strick loves bowhunting.

I wonder how long before Mark Zuckerberg is a hunter? I could definitely see it happening, if it isn't happening already. A friend of mine is in ranch sales and there are a lot of closet Silicon Valley hunters, per our conversations. A friend of my family has a brother who is an actor in movies and Broadway and hunts. He can't let it get out or he will be black-listed.
This whole organic, hormone-free movement actually helps us as hunters. You'd be surprised how many people are open to eating game versus store-bought. I've seen a major shift over the past 10 years.

I believe that at one time Morgan Freeman was a duck hunter. I know I have seen him do commercials for Ducks Unlimited. I also remember seeing an older photo of Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford chatting on the trap field, both holding high end O/U shotguns.

Ran into a guy guiding a tall fellow on the Kaibab in about the mid-90's. Happened to know the guide from when I'd drawn a Desert sheep tag in NV a few years before. At the Fraternity of the Desert Bighorn Banquet a couple of days before sheep season the guide had a few helpful pointers for me going in on a DIY bowhunt. Turns out the tall fellow was Patrick Swayze, the now deceased actor. I did not know who he was but everyone in town was talking about him being around a few days later. He was basically quiet as the guide and I discussed Kaibab deer hunting and NV Desert bighorns. He had the latest Hoyt compound....a Chuck Adams/Superslam edition as far as I remember.
