Are the top the top loading Lakeland Bow Cases with the zipper airline approved?

Are you talking about Lakewood bowcases? If it's Lakewood's brand of case, yes they are (or were) FAA approved. You will need to use a lock on them.
We used their double bow case for a few years before switching to the SKB double case.

I love the lakewood. You can stuff a weeks worth of clothes in it along with you bow. The clothes add protection and it saves a piece of luggage
