Been looking at White Clouds and Jerry Peak wilderness area for possible Elk hunt next year. Anyone who's been there want to share their thoughts about the area ? Will be bringing my Mule's to get around.

Is it true as a non resident you have to have a guide in wilderness areas in Idaho??

Nope. Idaho doesn't have the wilderness restrictions like Wyoming.

Idaho is the place to go!!!! Lots of wilderness and giant bulls. It was like Colorado was 20 years ago. Now Colorado is overrun with out of state guys from the mid west and east coast. Go to Idaho if you want to hammer monster bulls. I heard 400” bulls were in most drainages in the wilderness areas.

Lol.....yep I herd that too....just around the corner in every drainage.

You must be thinking of a different state...like Arizona.

My buddy killed his biggest bull in th Whiteclouds pack in trip. Many of the central Idaho wilderness hunts may not have the best elk numbers, often bigger averages and fewer people. Fewer hunters is why Ive hunted wilderness, lazy hunters like ATV;s trucks and some horses.
