With aging eyes i am wondering ,would a sight with a larger house benefit me ? I am using a 5/16 peep sight. The HHA sight i use on both my bows is totally in my sight picture. In other words , when looking thru my peep , I can see the entire sight housing and light around it . If I go larger do any of you have any experience with this ? I just want opinions before I spend $200 +- on a new sight . I use the single pin slider ,as i limit my shots on deer to 30 yards and less. I made new grips for both my bows and went to a Scott Longhorn Hex release. Shooting better than ever but want to perfect my shooting as much as I can. Aging eyes and lower light are my issue now. I really appreciate the wealth of information on Bowsite . Read this site daily. Thank you

I can't think of a reason why a larger sight housing would benefit. You definitely don't want one that is too big to be able to center it in your peep sight.

Using a 5/15 peep sight?????? "aging eyes and lower light are my issue now" A 5/16 peep seem small for a hunting sight.
Why not use a 1/4 peep sight? Will help in lower light and give you a better field of view.
my best, Paul

5/16 is bigger than 1/4, and they are both huge.

I say use the 2/8ths...lol. The housing should be the exact size of your peep or smaller as in your case. If you have a consistent area between the housing and the peep you know you are centered. If you housing is larger than your peep your reference disappears...might cause accuracy issues.

X2 on Franklin. Too funny, Paul! That sounds like something I’d say as I’m mathematically challenged! Ha.

Have 2 3/8” on all my Spot Hoggs, and wouldn’t think of going smaller!

In use a 5/16 and using a trophy ridge react sight. This sight has a little larger diameter and works well with this peep size

After some responses here i tried a 2 inch sight housing . Like I said in my original post I CAN SEE LIGHT AROUND MY SIGHT HOUSING WHEN LOOKING THRU MY PEEP SIGHT . WOW, what a difference it made. NOW my peep completely surrounds my sight housing , instead of me having to center it in the peep. More field of view . That's why I asked question. I got a hold of an old 2 inch sight housing and tried it . I am thinking if a person was using a smaller peep, then the 1 7/8 inch housing on the HHA would have centered fine , but with 5/16 peep a 2 inch sight housing , centers perfectly. Thank you for your responses . Now I can decide which 2 inch housing sight to buy. More field of view , will be better for my aging eyes . Thanks again !! Just a follow up ,which may help someone else.

The larger housing should allow for more fiber rap which helps your ability to clearly see the pin.

Very interesting findings. Thanks for sharing.
I would still consider a 4x lens just to see how it works for you.
