DIY Wilderness hunts

I have been archery hunting elk for some years now mainly in Oregon and Washington. I am looking to expand my experiences and do some other wilderness hunts in Montana, Colorado, Wyoming etc... any and all experiences, information and opinions would be welcomed and appreciative. Thanks everybody!

You have to be way more specific.

You won't do it in WY without a guide of some sort. Verboten for DIY NRs.
Lots of wilderness areas in CO. Do some research on the CPW website by units, pick one, and go for it. They all have elk. Some have more hunters than others.
