Real coyote? Yes
150#? No

Not a chance. Gets interesting once you scale them. A 40#er is like a 170 whitetail around here. Shot a real toad this winter that went 33. He’s on the right side beside a couple nice sized northern dogs

I do not think a 40#er is like 170" whitetail. I have killed a couple big males that went 50#s. 150 no way the kid is sitting 5 ft behind it as well! Shawn

Lol 150# is laughable. When you think of how rare a 50 lber is and think suddenly it’s triple that???? That’s the equivalent of an 1100” elk. And DEFINITELY not if that’s the pic they’re using. My brothers 33# dog in the pic above puts things in perspective.

If that`s a 150 lb. yote then he was caught with Newhouse #15 bear trap. Scale is everything. I have seen Eastern yotes pushing 50- 60 lbs. and they were absolute monsters.
A western yote pushing 40 lb IS an equal to a 170" whitetail. Eastern...not so much.

Spike, the dog in your link looks like a wolf, not a yote.

Definitely a perspective issue with the picture setup.
I call BS.
After actually weighing some “giant” coy-dogs and finding out they were much smaller than the guesstimate, I’m going with the Pauls brothers on this one...

He's sitting way behind it because its not dead. That happened after the pic. 150# coyote is like a 600" whitetail, or 1200" elk. Three times bigger than a giant.

40# is a big pure blood coyote, 50# is a booner, 150# is a unicorn. They just don’t exist.

If that’s #150, then I’m Shaquille O’Neal’s bigger brother.
I dismantled a carcass of a coyote that went #48, skinned out, and it looked like it was part Wolfhound. With a good pelt on it, most people would have guessed #100.
That sucker was big enough to make me think twice about tracking them into the thick stuff, I’ll say that.

Ok, it is a big coyote. I think the picture title just got compressed. It's supposed to read 1 50 pound coyote. As in, one fifty pound coyote. However, even 50 pounds seems like a stretch.

Here is the biggest coyote I've ever seen and I got a real good look at him, just a couple months ago. Probably doesn't go over 50# with a full belly, (and has a scraggly tail - :). They don't get much bigger than this one. I have seen him several times, up close. He's bold, and every time I've seen him, I was not packing a weapon, so maybe he's smart too. I've seen a lot of coyotes, and they do not get over 40# often.

I just took a closer look at that '150#' coyote in the first pic. It is still ALIVE in the trap, further proof that the pic is a bogus photoshop job.

This one weighed 190 lbs, of course I was close to 320 lbs and 6'7" at the time. I'm a bit smaller now.
