Out camping and checked my email. I drew my Iowa tag. Thought it was a bit early, but I am happy!! I will have 23 days to fill my tag and hopefully hunt Nebraska too as I am staying less than 8 miles from there. Hope everyone had good luck!! Shawn

Success zone 7. Will be hunting with my resident dad this fall. Unsuccessful last year in the draw. Was pretty sure I’d draw this year. They just sold their 20 acres a week ago, but still lots of good connections with neighbors. Not looking for a monster, just some fun.

Yeah, I thought about 4 or 5 but knew I would draw where I wanted with 4 points. I also wanted to hunt both states so 3 was the zone for me. I have a few buds that have killed a couple big ones in 3 so I have a bit of intel and some GPS coordinates. Shawn

Last year NR only had a slim chance to draw zone 5 archery with 3 points (24 awarded out of 560) so it's possible no one drew this year with 3 pp. They'll publish the draw stats later.

No tag for me but it was a bad year anyway since I drew an October mule deer hunt in Oregon. That would wipe out the first three weeks of October so blessing in disguise. I drew an IL JEPC public gun tag and will bow hunt a few new IL county park properties this year off the radar. Very hard to find any more. IL public loaded with NR xgunners and bad hunting. Those two things are extremely easy to find!

I was worried about 4 or 5 as EHD hit those areas pretty hard I heard. I know I saw several posts of guys seeing way less deer in those zones last year. Best of luck to all! Shawn
