WY Unit 56

My cousin won the commissioners tag through WWF and is looking at 56 for elk. More than likely going to be a rifle hunt as we will be in Alaska for caribou for 10 or so days in September. I know it’s highly regarded but any real life experience?

He’s talked to 7D Ranch and Trails West Outfitters. Didn’t see any reviews for either outfitter on here.

Both outfitters are excellent. Unit 56 can be a decent late season hunt pending the migration. If he is going with an outfitter, trust them to know the best unit.Both of them may have better units in mind.

I would trust what Ron says on this. I'm guessing he may have spent an hour or two in 56 over the years :)

I would say late 59 or late 61 or maybe 54 type 1 would be better potentially. Although I know of a few big bulls that came out of 56 late last year as well.
