In the past, an entry with anything more than 65% let-off would get an asterisk. As Ed mentioned, those days are over.

Those days may be over for P&Y, but a couple of states still have letoff rules.

How many bowhunters do you know who have been checked by wildlife enforcement personnel for letoff or minimum poundage requirement ? How many bowhunter do you know have been given a game violation citation for illegal setoff or minimun poundage?

Personally none, but I mostly don't hunt in the states that have a rule on it.

I couldn't care less about let-off, but would be sort of silly for someone to enter an animal they knowingly took illegally even if it is something minor like let-off, 2 minutes after legal time, etc. Sort of defeats the purpose of being part of something so based on ethics and rules.

I agree with you Glunt regarding rules and ethics, but I was just wondering about cited violations by a law enforcement officer.
