Bulls are starting to sound off in nw NM, but bulls here in sw Colorado are still running together. Had two 5's and and small 4 come into water yesterday evening and seven cows with three calves and no bulls with them. But the hunters are sure hitting the pipes!

Interesting John.....was just a bit outside Estes Park Weds thru Sat and did not hear a peep....bugle or cow call....other than my own. Pretty dead vocalization wise.

I was in north central Colo this past 5 days and there was quite a bit of talk, cows and bulls. One large group had 30+ cows/calves with one larger bull, the rest of what I saw were smaller group of cows with smaller spikes and rags.

Herd bulls with cows opening day, good bugling….that is until the guys with the high pitched bugle horns started! Then they just chuckled and grunted so they couldn’t hear them! See it every year here in co!! Let them get going on their own:) went 1 for 3 opening week!!!

Good action in NW Co this past week.This morning the 15th was a big turn on as the temps dropped to the upper 30's and bulls bugled their heads off at night and the morning.Saw several just wlaking around with no cows.

Only bugling bulls I've heard in CO Unit 500 this week is on Michigan Hill......in between the houses. I've heard a few half-hearted bugle attempts near Jefferson Hill and that's it. Wallows look unwallowed in.

five days after this pic was taken, this bull showed up 20 yards from my hide and bugled right in my face on 9/15,. A well placed arrow ended all of that. My First bugle of the season and his last.

Sitting in the house with the windows open. About every 2 minutes I hear a bugle. In between bugles there are cows that are mewing. One bull has to be about 50 yds. away, others are further. I think that this is what they call mountain music. (AZ)
