Mid September 2021 hunt...

Thanks to "ALL" the hunters who hunted with us during our 2021 Fall Bear and Whitetail seasons. 2021 created many obstacles that we were able to overcome. Such as arrivecanapp, testing before arriving at the border etc. A few even had to get a random test they had to take after arriving in Canada. But "ALL" hunters booked made it in to camp!!

Steve, the hunt itself showed that the Buck Population is rebounding well. We took some nice deer. Here is the 2nd last buck that we took this Fall.

Naz, hunter in this picture only read magazines about how to hunt Bucks. Was so happy to take this Buck.

One week during Deer season, we had a group that were new to Canada. For many in this group the hunt was their first. They took a few bucks and a few does. They hunted does in a resident only area. Hunters immigrated from Egypt, Pakistan, Afganistan and India.

DanaC, although the Bear's are still out wandering around late in the season, as this picture shows, we do not offer a combo hunt. Also most Bear tags are taken up by end of September. THX for asking.

May 2021... perfect size for eating!!

Pine Acres was turned into a hunting Camp back in 1974.... Bears being the main animals sought. Here is my first bear taken back in mid 70's. Skipped school in order to get this Bear. 2nd Bear was the last Bear I took May 1rst this Year.

Pine Acres Bear Camp has what's called "Limited Guided Hunts" ( Semi-Guided). We have baits set well over a month before hunters arrival in camp. Once hunters arrive in camp, we will go over rules and regulations. The hunters will be taken to their assigned sites. Hunters will then take over the baiting and maintenance of the site. Drive own vehicles to hunting area and back. We will go over recommended baiting techniques we used till your arrival and suggestions on how to increase your chances at bagging a bear on the bait you are shown.

Hunters at Pine Acres Bear Camp, can take pride in the animals they harvest, as much of the success depended on their own input into the hunt. Each morning, we are in the lodge discussing ways to increase success. We suggest coming and visiting the guides each morning to increase your success.

For Spring hunters... before you leave home for your 2022 Spring Bear Hunt you will have to have the Arrive Can App downloaded to your phone. A PCR test within 72 hours of arrival at the border. When you arrive at the border, the agent will swipe your passport. All your info ( Arrive Can App) will show up on his computer in front of him. He will not have to be shown it. He will need proof of being double vaccinated. Proof of vaccination will be needed to be downloaded on APP. A paper copy of your 2 doses of vaccination will also be required if asked for.

In 2021, all our hunters booked showed up to Bear and Deer hunt at Pine Acres. Most said there were no issues and the ones who did had it figured out with a short period of time.

If you are picked for a random test by border agent, he will give you a PCR test to take with you. If you are picked you may do it as you arrive into Ft Frances. There is a drop box for Purolator especially set for the random tests. You may also do the Random test here at camp with any computer. We have a computer set up just for this. We have had to do the random test ourselves so we can walk you through the process. Its easy!!

Above all, don't listen to all the misinformation on crossing into Canada during covid. We will walk our booked clients through the process!! Call Saxon James or me if you require correct info pertaining to Covid border issues.

The Government of Canada is not planning on closing the border. The hunt will happen. For anyone needing to take a PCR test, that would be ready in an hour, there is a testing station in International Falls. To get your test call Covid Quick Results at 1-320-250-4035.

We have 10 Large Bear Management Areas... Baits are from 2 to 55 miles from camp. Some are accessed only by ATV's. Side by Sides don't always fit our ATV trails.

Each Outfitter in Ontario has what's called a Bear Management Areas. Each Outfitter is allocated a quota of validation certificates. The amount of validation certificates is dependent on size of the Bear Areas allocated to them.

If an Outfitter says he only takes 10 hunters a year (1 or 2 BMA's), it's because that is what his allocated area only allows.

We have a few openings for Spring and Fall 2023.... Hunt is a "limited guided hunt" for 6 days. Sunday noon to following Saturday Morning. Because of the lingering effects of the pandemic we are keeping the price at $1550.00 plus tax, for bookings made before July.

***Wounding policy is if you draw blood, you can continue to hunt the same bait site that you wounded the bear on. Can continue to hunt the bear you drew blood on. No extra charge to continue Bear Hunting. We will track the hit bear till we find or till we deem the bear still alive.

The hunting pressure within our 10 Bear Management Areas was non existent from 2019 to Fall 2021. Residents here in our area just do not Bear hunt. We did not entertain a resident bear hunt at Pine Acres. We are a Non Resident Bear Camp only!!

This sow had cubs in the spring. If hunting Bears in Ontario during the Spring months. You "cannot" take a sow ( Lactating ) accompanied by cubs of the year. Very important as there is a $25,000.00 fine for taking a lactating sow with cubs of the year in the Spring.
