"Some Russian units have left their assembly areas – the bumper-to-bumper formations seen in satellite photos – and are beginning to move into 'attack positions,' according to the [U.S.] official," CBS News' story said. "This movement marks a change since Sunday, when some of the units had left the assembly areas but had not yet taken what could be viewed as attack positions."
Let’s go Brandon!
No doubt about it, this is a war brought to you by the f""" tard dems.
I feel for the innocent Ukrainian people- they are in a "no win" situation.
Invasion date will be 2/21/22.
This is not as cut and dried as the US news makes it out to be. The US has been dividing that region since Obama in 2014 when we wanted the Naval base on the Crimean peninsula…and wanted our nuclear missiles within 5 min striking distance of Moscow. ( shades of the Cuban missile crisis!)
Just saying, there is 2 sides to every coin. I would be ticked off too if I were Putin. There is some good info on the European sites if you want the real story. Putin is no angel of course, he wants Russia to hold their influence over Ukraine to help support his (whimpy) state of Texas size economy.
Just saying, this could have been diffused….but with Bidens approval taking a dump he is willing to sacrifice American lives to boost his popularity by looking strong. Sad state of affairs.
The Biden brown finger is ready to smear....again. What an incompetent POS!
If things transpire to where the benefit of trying to take more, or all, of Ukraine looks like it comes at an acceptable cost, he may try. If things aren't looking good for that, he can trade deescalating for some political concessions and back off a while with a partial win.
Yes, NATO weak and insignificant alright. That’s why Putins first demand was Ukraine not joining NATO. That’s what started all of this.
Putin is a dictator who is offensively trying to take over a democratic sovereign nation. For the innocent Ukrainian people I hope the free counties of the would stand by them and this deescalates.
Go tell that to Putin.
All you do is watch right wing “news” talking heads and regurgitate it here. It’s almost verbatim.
Are you saying that he is communicating with you about assessments on the current Ukrainian situation?
If that’s the case you should spell his name correctly. I’m sure he would appreciate it.
But unfortunately for Joe. No distraction from his domestic policy $h!t show
Biden comes away with big money for his family....Putin maintains his influence....and the Ukrainians get shafted.
Wow, Could the Democrat politicians in the US have screwed them any worse?

NATO made sense insofar as it was created with countries like England, et al - reliable allies that bring something to the table. These small nations that border Russia are like eggs and the USA is the hen.

If Komazar Putty doesn't send the solders home or across the border they will go on their own , they are getting pretty tired of playing with-themselves these past few months. Them Ukraine girls are looking pretty inviting by now.

No way the ol guy could be wrong…Lol
Putin been building for months and no body did a thing, now the chit hits the fan and their Leader scoots on cue... Biblical Prophecy in real time and we are witnessing it first hand.
Putin doesn’ t want Nuclear missiles placed along the Russian border 5 min from Moscow. Can you blame him?
Russias entire economy is anemic, about the size of the state of Texas. They are almost insignificant except for providing energy to Europe. Russia currently sells goods into Ukraine and exerts influence over them. Its in Russias best interest not to have the enemy along their border. Would we want Russian nukes in Cuba?
The situation was at a balancing point until 2014 when the US under Obama destabilized Ukraine with one objective being the Russian Naval Base on the Crimean peninsula.
They are stuck in the middle. The EU doesnt want one more anemic economy that will be a drag on their alliance.
Everyone but Biden knows Russia is content to have Ukraine stay the way they are. But Obama…now Biden has to stick it in Putins eye antagonizing them…when all he really has to say is we will leave Ukraine alone. DONE.
BUT then Bidens dirty dealings will be cut off…or worse exposed as some of the worst acts of treason in world history. Plus, his approval is in the dumper….and historically a war increases a standing presidents approval ratings. It wouldnt be the first time a Rep or Dem president did that. Why do you think Biden shot up an unknown terrorist that was almost zero threat in the middle east recently? Approval rating. Biden himself should be segueing with the EU as they are trying to diffuse. Of course he can’t stand the rigors of that. Instead they send Kamala over there and tell her she will look good if she talks tough.
Hopefully cooler heads prevail in this and the true motivations are exposed. Currently its a shit show.
This has nothing to do with the Keystone pipeline, Rocky. The Nordstream 2 pipeline is relevant to this mess, but not Keystone.
Matt
We import roughly 1.5-2% of our total oil oil consumption from Russia - mostly because the economics of doing so make sense. Not sure what your definition of “depending is,” but that doesn’t meet mine.
Matt
What sort of sanctions would you recommend that you think would prevent a full scale invasion?
The US Congress has a proposal to play sanctions against Russia, inc banks and anyone dealing with them.
Biden has pushed back from Congress and will not let this legislation go forward ….one that will stop a war dead in its tracks. Why?
My bet is that Biden is in a balancing act trying to protect his self interests…. And not let his dirty laundry be exposed to the world. Blackmail. Its guaranteed Russia knows all about he and his sons dirty dealings.
If we do go to war over there and this dirty laundry comes out Biden can use the war as an excuse to call it fake news.
.
.
We keep saying invasion is imminent like we are setting up a scenario where we can say Ukraine is justified in throwing the first punch.
Who is “we?” Because the US purchases essentially zero NG from Russia.

No Sir, this is their baby, let them see if they can get one right.
So your suggestion is we should do nothing? That’s not what your boy Carafano says we should do. Thought you said you “will take his assessment and judgement on current status over any partisan talking heads.”
That’s not what Carafano is saying we should do now. Beyond criticizing Biden for not giving enough lethal aid, he’s saying we should be stepping up with more support and establishing a strong military presence in Eastern Europe to deter Putin.
“What Biden needs to do is flip the script. Instead of talking concessions, he should look at how quickly he can reinforce the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, and make every effort to contribute to the self-defense of Ukrainian territory by Ukrainians.”
https://www.heritage.org/europe/commentary/russia-ukraine-crisis-offers-biden-moment-save-his-presidency
“The foreign policy expert also explained that China and Russia share the same goals of destabilizing Western Europe and isolating the U.S. Carafano says the solution is simple. First, establish a strong military deterrence in Europe, then reestablish energy independence, finally economically punish China.”

After all the build-up Putin will probably limit himself to carving off the disputed area full of separatists. Ukraine will probably be glad to get rid of them. Of course, they will howl in indignation, but...
Ukraine separated from the USSR, there is no way they will be happy going back. They are a bit of a pawn now caught in the EU/ US/ Russia power struggle and it appears they hate us all.
No way Putin is going to let the US put missiles in Ukraine but then he has to know the huge strain he would cause Russia economically and worse trying to bring Ukraine back under their wing.
Controlling energy to the EU will partially satisfy Putin…but Something tells me Putin wants to stick it to the US. Maybe trying to get the EU turned against us?
Heck, I don’t know……except it seems we will see wild fluctuations in energy prices.
.
You are as misinformed on your Ukraine posts as you are on your COVID posts.
One thing I have noticed…. I see a bit of a pattern. Some people think they are smarter than everyone else no matter what the subject is. Ok carry on…….
Yup, super vocal about it.
And fyi, those borders are so open right now that we are only apprehending two times the amount of people we were when Trump left office. Immigration at our southern border is driven first and foremost by the economy. And are borders are anything but open as you can see in the CBP data. Saying Putin isn’t a threat, and that the whole Ukraine business is a manufactured crisis to distract from what is going on here at home is laughable.
I might be wrong but I only see that the Russian government feared that Ukraine's membership of the EU and NATO would complete a western wall of allied countries by restricting Russia's access to the Black Sea.
Nothing like a nice little war to make all the corrupt politicians wealthy.
In case we forget what a good guy Putin is; (note to self- don't take the job of food taster to any of his opposition leaders!) From ABC Poisonings have occurred under Putin almost since the start of his rule. In 2004, Viktor Yushchenko, a candidate who ran against a Kremlin-favored incumbent for Ukraine's presidency was poisoned with dioxin, leaving him disfigured.
The same year, the celebrated investigative journalist, Anna Politkovskaya fell suddenly ill and lost consciousness after drinking a cup of tea while flying to the Russian city of Beslan during the school siege there. She survived, but was shot dead two years later, on Putin’s birthday. The two poisonings that have most closely associated Putin with poisoning internationally occurred in the U.K. In 2006, Alexander Litvinenko, a former officer from Russia’s FSB security service turned critic, died after being exposed to polonium-210, a radioactive isotope, slipped into his tea at an upscale hotel. British police later sought to charge two Russians, Dmitry Kovtun and Andrey Lugovoy and a U.K. public inquiry concluded that Putin had likely personally ordered the assassination. Russia refused to extradite the two men and Lugovoy was instead made a member of parliament.
In 2018, another former Russian intelligence officer Sergey Skripal, was nearly fatally poisoned with a nerve agent in the English town of Salisbury. The poison, which was identified by British investigators as a nerve agent, known as "Novichok", developed by the Soviet Union as part of a secret chemical weapons program. Russia again denied responsibility, but U.K. police were able to track two men, who were later identified as officers in Russian military intelligence. Both men, Anatoly Chepiga and Alexander Mishkin were found to have previously received Russia’s highest state honor, awarded personally by Putin. Navalny's case for now has drawn the closest comparisons with two other suspected poisoning cases of opposition figures. Vladimir Kara-Murza, a pro-democracy activist from Open Russia, a group funded by Putin foe Mikhail Khodorkovsky, twice nearly died in 2015 and 2017 after his organs suddenly began failing. A French lab found high levels of heavy metals in his blood but was unable to identify the poison. Petr Verzilov, a member of the protest group, Pussy Riot, two years ago suddenly fell inexplicably and critically ill. He was evacuated to Germany for treatment, kept in an induced coma, and doctors there said he had been poisoned. Verzilov survived and last week helped arrange for Navalny to be airlifted to Germany by the same Berlin-based non-profit that had aided him.
Verzilov has said his symptoms were very similar to Navalny’s and has blamed both poisonings personally on Putin.
Let’s put something to rest. The USA is still a net exporter of oil and natural gas. And no leases were cancelled. Lease sales were paused. They were then started again. The most recent lease sale results have been rescinded, but fully expect there to be more in the future. Carry on.
A: ABOLUTELY NOTHING
What do you wish he’d do about it, Stix?
I’m sorry, the oil leases were “Paused” and others were “rescinded”.
New leases were what were paused - that is, there were no new lease sales. A federal judge subsequently blocked Biden’s order, reopening lease sales. This was followed up by Lease Sale 257, for which the results were later rescinded by another federal judge who essentially deemed the proper environmental impact assessments weren’t done.
In all that time, existing leases were unaffected. Furthermore, the last decision to rescind only the results of Lease Sale 257 has already been appealed.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered forces to deploy into two breakaway republics in eastern Ukraine's Donbas region. This comes within around an hour of Putin signing decrees to recognize those regions as independent countries. You can get fully up to speed on how this situation has evolved already today and the potential ramifications in our initial reporting here.
I mean...we do have the best of the best handling this...right?
Well we knew this would happen the second azelkhntr said Putin would never invade the Ukraine.
At least his streak is intact.
The Russians have a saying, 'God fights on the side of those with the best artillery.' Not 'the side that sanctions'.
Putin signed an agreement with unrecognized separatist organizations in the region - not the government of Ukraine whose borders they just crossed - so therefore it’s not an invasion and it’s all good.
BEG, the democrat party has said repeatedly for years they want high gas prices so people will go green. The regulations Biden has piled on fossil fuels along with his policies lead to higher prices. Next you will be saying Biden supports coal.
As someone who is employed in the Oil and Gas sector, I'm no fan of Biden's energy policies - it's clear they are not supportive of the fossil fuel industry and I think the administrations approach to energy is misguided to say the least.
It doesn't mean people should get a free pass for getting the particulars of his policy wrong. When people claim things like we are no longer "energy independent" when we're still a net exporter, it deserves being called out. Just as it deserves being called out when people don't understand the outcomes of the administration's Executive Orders. They've had very little impact on existing supply and hence very little impact on oil and gas prices, as they are targeted at oil and gas that wouldn't hit the market for years or even decades from now. Plenty of time for a Republican administration to come in and undo what he's done.
Obama. “The1980s called and they want their foreign policy back”.
Man wouldn’t it be nice to have 1980s foreign policies back.
Peace through strength.
Instead of War through weakness
It's also easy to produce more than you use when your consumption hits 25 year lows like it did in 2020. The fact is we were essentially net zero in terms of imports/exports of petroleum products in 2021. And in terms of energy independence, the petroleum trade on its own is becoming a bit outdated in terms of a metric, seeing as crude oil now only accounts for about 25% of the energy production in this country and we are still a significant exporter of petroleum products.
On the list of factors driving oil and gas prices, Biden's policies are way down the list at the moment because the reality is they aren't doing much to impact supply (and he hasn't stopped fracking) - it has been largely demand driven as the economy recovers. This has been coupled with a restraint from producers who have been burned twice by huge price corrections in the last seven years - once from oversupply thanks to the fracking revolution (2014/2015) and the other from the demand crash related to COVID (2020) - and are in no rush to oversupply the market again. Sure, markets think about the future, but the fact is they aren't really going to price in effects that wouldn't happen for a dozen years from policies that will likely be reversed.

PS I don't care who reports it, Trump is scum. Let's see how the alts spin this one.
He wasn't praising him and applauding going into Ukraine. He was bashing the current admin for not being up to the task of good foreign policy.
Is Trump a great guy? No. Buy certainly no worse than who's running the country now and miles better on policy.
Putin is desperate and grasping. Russia's 'economy' is a bad joke second to North Korea. His only hope is grabbing chunks of territory and bragging to his people about 'their' glorious victories. I don't put much faith in sanctions but wouldn't be surprised if Russia goes bankrupt. Maybe then the other oligarchs will nail Putin's ass to a tree.
What do you feel the Trump administration policy would have been? He says he would have never let this happen. What do you think he would have done differently? What does, in your opinion, good foreign policy with Russia look like? I'm legitimately asking.
I have no idea what he would do at this point if Putin went in. Maybe something dumb or effective.
I was just point out that he wasn't praising Putin as a good guy. He was pointing out that he's really good at the game.
The media framing it differently is being blatantly and purposely obtuse.
I think Putin's motivations have been clear - he wants to reverse the Cold War, he wants to reassert Russian dominance, destabilize NATO, destabilize the EU, shrink American influence, see America fail, and have Russia become the global power broker he dreams them to be. Ukraine is merely a step in this direction, but for Putin it's about much more than the Ukraine (and its resources). He was at odds with every President but Trump, as his goals flew in the face of every administration's foreign policy but Trump.
Now you can say the reason Putin wasn't more aggressive under Trump was because he was scared of him. No doubt Trump was a wildcard at times - he was unpredictable and had a penchant for taking big risks, particularly when he felt disrespected or defied.
With that said, I think there's a more likely explanation. If you look at Putin's goals, many of them were directly in-line with Trump's goals. What was Trump's take on NATO? The EU? US intervention in foreign matters? Trump hated NATO, the EU, felt we needed to shrink our footprint globally (America First!), and dial back the aid we were supplying to our allies. All of this played into Russia's ambitions. Why risk upsetting it with military action and saber rattling if you're getting what you want anyway? I think Putin knows you can throw Trump a few flattering complements and he's likely to stay out of your hair and continue the course he's on.
I do agree Putin would likely not have invaded Ukraine if Trump was still in power. He would have deemed it an unnecessary risk.
It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to know Biden has been weak or wrong on foreign policy his whole career. Name one thing he has gotten right on in his career when it comes to foreign policy.

I like this new approach, Shawn! Multiple accounts AND you’re patting yourself on the back with each of them!
BEG your liberal friends all thought Trump was crazy and didn’t want his fingers on the nuclear trigger. Don’t you think Putin was the same? That’s what a strong America looks like. Trump flexed his muscles often and proved he would throw a punch if necessary. Your presidents walk around like mindless transgendered girls passing out blankets. It’s called peace through strength…. Nothing these puny democrats have done has ever promoted peace.
No, I don't think Putin was the same. The Trump playbook is an easy one. Stay on his good side, tell him how smart and powerful and great he is and you'll have him eating out of your hand. Putin did it over and over. If he wanted to invade Ukraine, he could have. He had no need for it under Trump - he was getting what he wanted without it. If he decided to, it probably would have played out like this:
Vlad: "Donald, you're so smart. Let me know what you think about this. I've got a problem on my border - you know all about border problems, right? Well, there's a bunch of people that want to be Russian and are tired of the Ukraine, and them wanting to be in NATO...don't get me started on NATO, you know what I mean, right? Well, I was thinking about sending in some peacekeeping troops to look after our own. What do you think about that Donald? You're so smart and powerful, I'd love to hear what you think about that?"
The Donald: "Well, Vlad, that's brilliant. It's genius. Maybe I should try that with Mexico? No problem on my end - we got enough stuff at home to worry about."
Vlad: "So you'll let it go? I knew I could count on you Donald. You're so smart. I'm gonna send some girls over for you tonight."
Now granted, there's no way to know for certain, but that's my guess to how it would go.
And Biden is as much your president as he is mine. I didn't vote for him.
Thankfully, many Democrats are waking up- Virginia being a classic example.
Don't know what "pipeline approval process" you're talking about, but agree that Biden's energy policy is atrocious.
BEG if you think Putin watched trump send a tomahawk parade into Syria and watch how tump handled Korea and respect the US with him at the wheel than your beyond delusional
This sentence is borderline incomprehensible. But it sounds like I can put you squarely in the camp of those who are cool with going to war with Russia, LINK.
And when you're a 6'4", 240 lb badass it's a lot easier to pick fights with lightweights that you know you can mop up without breaking a sweat. And that's also the point. Russia never had to fight for what they wanted under Trump because they were getting it anyway - a destabilized NATO and a power vacuum at the global level due to our reluctance to get involved.
There's so much more th this country & our government than the potus. Here's some more country boy logic for ya. Think of it like this if our government was a car engine the potus would be the carburetor. Very important indeed. But only a small part of a working engine.
Secondly as to Ukraine why does it seem that unfortunately this all seems to fall on Biden shoulders. What about the rest of the world. It just dumbfounds me that the rest of the world can't stand up to Putin and tell the prick if you go through with this your done. You'll never import or export another thing again
Perhaps it's not that simple but perhaps it is.
Yeah ok, Trump had them pony up over a billion dollars in equipment which made NATO stronger not weaker.
Our president is a carburetor, we need fuel injection now.

Has it only been 34 days since President Joe Biden opened his mouth and his nonsense plopped out?
Yes.
Please don’t tell me that with all the urgent news spin and old generals rattling sabers on TV, with those maps like some Risk board game, you’ve forgotten what our president said a month ago?
He said that if Russia moved into Ukraine, it would be OK with him, if it were only “a minor incursion.”
“It’s one thing if it’s a minor incursion and we [NATO] end up having to fight about we have to do and not do,” Biden said at a White House news conference on Jan. 19.
To belch such nonsense out publicly was disastrous for him, and the NATO alliance. The world watches and sees his incompetence.
He showed himself for what he is, an old man who was never really all that deep completely out whatever depth he possessed. A man without much of a political future as some 30 House Democrats have decided to resign rather than face what he’s crafted for the Democrats come November.
And now other incompetents along with cynics of the bi-partisan American War Party are talking about how America must “show strength” and “resolve” to Russian strongman Vladimir Putin in his own backyard, on his own ground?
And for what? So that our old, dry bobbing cork in the White House can shore up his weak domestic political numbers that are falling day by day? It’s not working.
America doesn’t believe you, Mr. President. America wants no part of this. You’ve slurred Americans who don’t agree with you on Voter Integrity laws by calling them knuckle-dragging racists. “Jim Crow 2.0!” remember? You’ve portrayed parents of school children as “domestic terrorists,” and unleashed the Department of Justice upon them just because they don’t agree with mask mandates and Critical Race Theory.
And now you want us to band together under your banner to oppose Putin?
I don’t think so. Americans don’t much care what happens in Putin’s backyard. They care about increasing violent crime across America that you do little if anything about. You won’t even condemn the catch-and-release prosecutors fanning the rise of crime.
Americans do care about your inflationary policies that eat away at their paychecks. They care about how whether they’ll afford to get to work with the price of gas going up, after you killed off the American pipeline to satisfy the hard left.
And Ukraine? Isn’t that where your son Hunter Biden scored big on business deals leveraged by you when you were Vice President?
Yes, Ukraine. That Ukraine. Your son’s sandbox.
And all your horses and media men can’t put your presidency back together again. We don’t want your egg on our faces. Trust me on this Mr. President.
Here is a classic....

""".................Sen. Mitt Romney laid the blame for Russia’s Wednesday night invasion of Ukraine at the policies of the three most recent U.S. presidents, Barack Obama, Donald Trump and Joe Biden.............
.........America and our allies must answer the call to protect freedom by subjecting Putin and Russia to the harshest economic penalties, by expelling them from global institutions, and by committing ourselves to the expansion and modernization of our national defense," Romney said.
Romney predicted in 2012 that Russia was America’s "number one geopolitical foe," a comment that drew criticism from then-President Obama.

Reagan knew communism prays on the weak and prefers to just roll them over and submit. The only way to deal with communism is with extreme strength. We as a nation are the opposite of that now. America delivered Biden and Harris (extreme weakness) on a silver platter. Played right into his hands. No other Nation will stand up to this madman bully. Not even us. He will take what he wants. Our alliances our just as weak as us and cannot match his firepower. He has China, North Korea, Iran and others as his allies and will start wars and disruptions on many other fronts. He knows we cannot possibly fight multiple wars at once. In the global game of “Risk” - he now has every advantage.
I'll be the first to admit I don't have answers. This stuff is a high-risk game of chess and there's not telling how it'll play out. I do find it interesting that everyone has a problem with what is being done by the current administration (which I agree with), but that it seems like everyone is divided on what we should actually be doing and no one really seems to be talking about that dichotomy. With all that said, I have opinions on our foreign policy in general...
I had problems with Trump's take on Russia (he viewed them as a friend, not a threat and he viewed NATO as obsolete), his coziness with Putin, and his push to remove dial back our role as world peacekeeper. I think Biden is indeed weak and ineffectual, and I not only had problems with how the Afghan troop removal was executed (which is what gets the headlines), but also the decision to remove troops in the first place.
Personally, I think it is in our best interests when we keep a strong global footprint - diplomatically, militarily, economically. I think China and Russia are real threats. I'm all for ensuring robust aid to our allies. I'm all for expanding our military footprint to protect our interests abroad and to extend the security force of our nation beyond our borders. I've been hearing about the threat of "near-peer" warfare for a long-time in some of the circles I hang out. Whether it happens or not, I'd want to ensure it's on our terms and I'd want to make sure our military apparatus was a well oiled machine.
In the meantime, we still have plenty of economic muscle and I wouldn't have been hesitant to hammer Russia with sanctions proactively (not reactively like we're going to do today). I don't know view it as much of a deterrent in the short term (certainly no way to know at this point), but in the long term it will hurt and will give them pause next time they think about acting up.
If anything this whole mess likely cools off the Fed's plans, not accelerates them IMO. The Fed doesn't want to send us into recession just to lower energy prices.
I think all of us don’t know the best way out now that Biden has encouraged Russia to get us to this spot. It’s not about what is “being” done it’s about what has been done by your spineless leader. There’s a reason this didn’t take place under trump and is now happening under these skinny Jean wearing, plant based meat eating children we have running the country. Like him or not Trump is a man and Putin knew it.
Like I said. Putin didn't need to. Sure, he knew Trump was rash, unstable, and clearly suffered from an inferiority complex (all of which can be a great deterrent). But he knew how to manage all that - flattery gets you everywhere with Trump - and Putin played Trump like a fiddle. Trump was delivering on Putin's strategic objectives so all he had to do was keep Trump happy.
And I just checked, you live in Oklahoma, so Biden is your leader just as much as he's mine.
Even worse is the very real possibility that this is an agreed upon strategy between a partnership of Russia and China. Just think about a conglomerate with the combined resources of raw material, land base and human bodies that those two nations wield.
Russia, and China (can't forget about them), really aren't worried about scaling back carbon emissions and are using the most powerful and reliable fuel sources available.
The USA can no longer go down the road of compromising the grid and further weakening its security with happy-thought notions of solar and wind power for everything. The most advanced and hi-tech security and defense in the world is at stake when some are more worried about taking reliable energy sources offline and replacing it with weather dependent sources.
Rich (and powerful) nations consume energy. Econ 101...
Sources say it doesn't matter much because even if they did try and stay, Russian military leaders weren't focused on diversity, equity and alternative gender tolerance like top brass from western countries they would eventually face off with.
* Try finding out who actually owns that solar farm up the road. I'll wait...
This would be great but usually Republicans turn out to be just as dumb as democrats when they get to Washington. To much money involved to actually act with common sense up there
Easy.
That said, is Trump helping with his petty commentary? Ugh, no.
Will Putin take back just the provinces that are sympathetic to Russia? Who knows, he is feeling his oats. It sure feels like things are going to get worse before they get better.
Hey we have John Kerry on our side….forget the loss of lives…he is wringing his hands over the CO2 emissions this will cause. WTF, Clueless…it makes me embarrassed to be an American.
I bought a few inverse ETFs the other day as a hedge and I’m glad I did.

John Kerry excoriated for hoping Putin will focus on climate change amid Ukraine invasion: 'Total clown show'
'Eye on the ball, John'
Former Secretary of State John Kerry was excoriated by critics Thursday for expressing hope that Russian President Vladmir Putin would help the world "stay on track" with fighting climate change despite the ongoing invasion of Ukraine by Russian armed forces.
Kerry's comments came during an appearance Wednesday on BBC Arabic, in which Biden's climate envoy also lamented the potential "emissions consequences" from the war in Ukraine and worried the attention of large countries would be "diverted" from fighting climate change because of the conflict.
"…Massive emissions consequences to the war, but equally importantly you're going to lose people's focus. You're going to lose, certainly, big country attention because they will be diverted, and I think it could have a damaging impact," Kerry said after stating that he was concerned about the people of Ukraine, as well as Russia's willingness to "change boundaries of international law by force."
"So, you know, hopefully I think President Putin would realize that in the northern part of his country, they used to live on – 66% percent of a nation that was over frozen land. Now it's thawing and his infrastructure is at risk and the people of Russia are at risk," he added. "And so I hope President Putin will help us to stay on track with respect to what we need to do for the climate."
Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine early Thursday morning following weeks of speculation as Russian troop numbers swelled at the border between the two countries and in neighboring Belarus.
Critics took to social media to blast Kerry for focusing on climate change amid the start of a war.
JOHN KERRY FEARS RUSSIA-UKRAINE WAR WILL DISTRACT FROM CLIMATE CHANGE
Kerry's comments garnered attention from international officials as well, with British Member of Parliament Marcus Fysh writing, "These idiots are the problem."
Other critics referred to Kerry's climate change advocacy over the war as a "total clown show," while another called him a "certified joker."
"Democrats are deranged, spoiled children and after 2022 should not be near any position of power for the foreseeable future," wrote former defensive end for the New England Patriots Jake Bequette, while another critic referenced Kerry flying to Iceland in a private jet to receive an environmental award.
"Ukraine is getting bombed as we speak and John Kerry can only think about the possible emission of a war and that people will lose focus on climate change. He is a clown. They’re all unfit for leadership. These people couldn’t run a pretzel shop," wrote one critic, while another argued it was a national security threat for Kerry to have ever been Secretary of State.
Germany and other Swift members now won’t allow Biden to remove Russia from the Swift banking system. But expect us to go to war for them.
Because Germany gets 50% of their oil from Russia. One of the heads of the 2 largest Russian oil companies is a high level German politician.
So Trump had good instincts. Trump sanctioned the Nordstream pipeline. Day one Biden pulls that Nordstream sanction. And then stopped the Canadian pipeline.
Of course Biden won’t open US oil production because of politics.
So here we are, the Europeans will slowly disappear and the US
Such a clueless fool.

Duh, I see it now.
What a pathetic , worthless, gutless, weak President
Yep. Valid point he makes, 40 million people don't want you there, you can't stay. To keep it, you exhaust tremendous resources.
That is his currency. I would like to think there is a special place in hell for people whose existence is to deceive - and likely for profit.
Trump has been dancing with Putin in Syria for YEARS. Bombed Russian AF bases there, essentially beating them there, put them back in the bottle after Obama diddled around with them and the JV Team..... He knows Putin. Knows who he is. He had sanctions on him when he left office. House Plant lifted them. Why? What did Putin do that made him think they could trust him? Bet it didn't even cost that much.... WRT the World Market Brandon works cheap.....
What pizzes off the left is Trump speaks his mind, not many filters. What REALLY pizzes them off is he usually right. Putin IS smart, far far smarter than House Plant. In fact I don't think there literally is anything in the world Putin ISN'T better at than House Plant, run circles around him. He is a a moron of the lowest order.... and that's not even arguable, you simply have to listen to him speak. When they LET him speak. Incompetence of his entire team on display on the World Stage for all to see. You did see his Afghanistan withdrawal? Yeah. So did the World. You'd think they were all on Maternity leave......
China should be moving soon. Why not? They've already bought and paid for the highest office in the land. Same as Russia. Same as Ukraine.... but he'll stiff Ukraine in a heartbeat and they know it. Guarantee both have dirt on the Bidens and their little shake down operation. Just a matter of who rats out who first.
This is what happens when you think it doesn't matter who's in charge. Of all the people you could interview, you wouldn't hire anyone like House Plant to run your family's company would you? Why the hell anyone would vote for him to run their country is beyond me...... what did you think would happen?
Hate to say it.... I don't think it gets any better from here. Unless you actually think Heels Up will fix anything..... at all...... Maybe if we send her to China and tell them they were on Double Secret Probation......
If that doesn't wake you up nothing will.

Which is? Because honesty, I don't think it's about mere money/power any more. I suspect Putin is in the early stages of dementia, and even Xi is figuring that out.
Anyone who thinks the Chinese toss off 'lip service' is orbiting out there with Pluto. Xi's statements will be weighed to the milligram, measured to six decimal places.
Unlike so many here, the Chinese *get* 'nuance'.
Unlike Ukraine, Taiwan has a healthy air force, strong defenses etc. Plus we have doubled our military presence there over the past year. And the idea that Russia will 'help' China with that is laughable.
Lmao!!! Taiwan would have zero shot at stopping china

Putin couldn't have a successful Democracy with a thriving economy right next door to Russia.
That and a NATO alliance…He also asked if we would want missiles next door to our country?!? Valid point!
World leaders please ask Putin before you do anything.

Look to Keith Richards for your answer as to why she and Biden haven’t stroked out.
Sounds like Russia is looking to duplicate the Ukraine dilemma - they don't get NATO protection because they're not part of NATO, and they need it if they even think of *joining* NATO. Damned if you do, damned if you don't, damned if you even think about it.
Anyone still think Putin doesn't need a punch in the nose?
Why do they even exist???
My BIL has been pretty "quite" lately so...
Most know Russia is near broke. You cut their access to world Oil and Gas markets they are DONE and will have to drive the 500 miles home. But. . . . . Joe Biden and G7, Nato will not do this because they will not help or feel one iota of discomfort for the Ukraine people. Dean
Edit - I just seen on Newsmax that the Prez of Turkey is not going to allow Russian ships come into his pond. That is a big move right there. I now think the international tide may be turning on the Vlad's Folly. Now maybe other countries will fall into step and go after Russia. Me also speculates we have operators in Russia who will continue to stir the pot and try to get the Russian folks to keep protesting what Vlad is doing.
Here in the Daytona area, I just checked Gasbuddy and the cheapest diesel is $3.34 at a local gas station. Highest is $3.79.
The metric here, on TV, in congress or in WHthat no one and I mean no one has discussed anywhere out loud is:
What will Putin do if his forces are beat or near beat? This is now a real rationale that must be looked at. Is this or will be his swan song and go down in thermal flames. yes folks this is how large regional and World Wars begin. Yes, you heard it on BS first!
Exactly my point. I keep hearing and seeing reports that Ukraine is putting up a helluva fight and Putin is already growing frustrated. I think he goes big before he gives up.
And to azelkhntr siding with the Russians, I deliver the same message to you that the 13 Ukrainian soldiers on Snake Island gave to the Russian navy. You add nothing of value on any thread you comment on.
Supply lines are strained. How does Russia not have that under control pre invasion.
Second I am hearing is Russia hasn’t gained air superiority over Ukraine. Shouldn’t that have been one of the first things to gain? After all this is Russia against little ol Ukraine.
If it’s all true I do find it odd. One would think Russia would have prepared/performed better.
Maybe the ticket to much of the world's issues is not dumping money at them for corrupt politicians (up to and including our own current President, you know we have the receipts but many just ignore them) to dip into as they see fit. Then telling them, don't worry your pretty head.... we'll take care of you.....
Trump said here's hardware provided to defend yourself if you have the will to do so..... then step back and see if they have that will. If they don't.... stuff happens. That may be the key. Even as at the time the left and their media all said sending them arms "would trigger a war!". Like their lunch money is what triggered their bullies to take it from them......

Russian troops started advancing into Ukraine again on Saturday after President Vladimir Putin paused the offensive a day earlier in anticipation of talks with Kyiv that never happened, the Kremlin said.
The Netherlands will supply 200 Stinger air defense rockets to Ukraine as quickly as possible, the Dutch government said in a letter to parliament on Saturday.
Germany, which had a long-standing policy of not exporting weapons to war zones, approved the delivery of 400 rocket propelled grenades from the Netherlands to Ukraine, the defense ministry in Berlin said, confirming a shift in policy after it faced criticism for refusing to send weapons to Kyiv, unlike other Western allies.
France has decided to send defensive military equipment to Ukraine to support the country against Russia's invasion, a French army spokesman said on Saturday, adding that the issue of sending offensive arms was still under consideration."

In 1991 Ukraine was the 3rd largest nuclear power in the world. By 1994 we or the "western world" convinced them to give up their nukes. IN EXCHANGE FOR A GUARANTEE OF THEIR SECURITY. If you're invaded, don't worry lil buddy.... we'll take care of it for ya. We signed it. They signed it. They got rid of their nukes.
Now we're going with "well, I had my fingers crossed.....". Or more precisely "well..... things have changed since then....." Yeah. Guess they have. User terminals are 'en route' to Ukraine now, Musk said
SpaceX founder Elon Musk said Saturday evening that the company's Starlink satellites are now active in Ukraine to alleviate some of the connectivity challenges the country is facing amid the Russia invasion.
Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov appealed to Musk on Saturday morning, saying that while his "rockets successfully land from space — Russian rockets attack Ukrainian civil people!"
Just 10 hours later, Musk responded that Starlink is now active in the eastern European country and more terminals are on the way.
Starlink is a network of about 2,000 satellites in low earth orbit that provide high-speed broadband internet by connecting with user terminals around the globe.

Clearly as it warms up in Ukraine this fight will drag out unless they go full spectrum full bore in next week or so.
If I was a G7 or EU Leader of any account I would be very careful where I go, what I ate or drank and I would never stay in same place two nights until this is over!!!
Super scary stuff when you have someone that powerful making that threat. I think most of what I read is that if he goes nuclear, he would have to fight the rest of the world and it would likely be the end of Putin and todays Russia. God I hope it doesn’t come to that
Matt
I don't think a man like that accepts defeat on any terms. The heart of a reptile and the conscience of a shark, but mind of a very intelligent psychopath.
You're the one calling for us to stay out of the fight. You started from day one saying it was dumb to send lethal aid to Ukraine. You said Germany was smart because they refuse to. Well, now Germany is sending lethal aid to Ukraine and the world is stepping up. Personally, as I said above (you can actually see my posts because I'm not a fraud who's account gets deleted multiple times a day), I think we should be taking a bigger role in the region - not just via sanctions, but militarily. Seems to me the only one going to the John Lennon school of foreign policy is you.
Not as funny as when he compliments one of his accounts from another one. And by funny, I mean really sad and pathetic.
But hey, at least you admitted you were giving yourself a pat on the back with posts from your different accounts.
I’ve never ever heard of anyone on BS respond to their own post under a different handle.
IIMO the only thing he can really do to make a difference is close the oil gates (ie, shutoff imports from Russia). I doubt tapping the SPR will do much in terms of supply/price and there's nothing he can do to force companies to drill and produce more within our own borders. Any other steps (reversing course on Keystone pipeline, removing red tape around permitting/leasing, etc) aren't going to impact supply for many years, if at all. For clarity, I think he should do all of the things in the last sentence right now, but it's not going to move markets much in the short term.
Agree. But the problem is the project was shelved, it would take months to ramp back up, and it's still likely a few years out from actually going operational. Couple this with the fact that it is unclear how much new supply this would provide (as rail and trucking has stepped in as a substitute), nor how much supply it really needs to deliver. Again, I'm all for greenlighting the project - but in terms of it meaning much with respect to prices/supply folks need to temper expectations on timing and impact.
Them poor people should have had Patriot missiles , along time ago,,,, little late now
Someone should take Putin out, he is useless to the world,,,,,,,Because this is going to escalate
Unfortunately shipping them missiles a year ago would have precipitated this invasion - a year ago.

They said for weeks he was going in. Again, the fundamental question is having this intelligence, how deeply do you get involved. Go back and look through this thread - there's hardly consensus on what preemptive efforts should have been taken (militarily or otherwise).
And the fight is still going on, so I'd say it's hardly too late at this point. Again, a number of countries are ramping up military aid as the conflict intensifies.
You, on the other hand... 'Vlad the Bold'. I'd laugh but that's pathetic.

Russia is making money off oil prices right now. It is what is funding this invasion. We need to affect that situation.
I wish it was there sooner as well, but at this point that's a sunk cost. With that said, it's hardly too late. The fight is ongoing, and even if Russia takes key cities, there will almost undoubtedly be insurgency and substantial resistance for them to hold them. Supply lines are not cut off to the people of Ukraine and this is far from over. Any aid will help going forward while there's still a fight going on IMO.
It is looking more and more like that with the constant attempts to deceive and create mistrust of people who actually know things. Why Pat continues to let this site be a safe harbor for those who seek to undermine our country I will never understand.
No you didn’t. You questioned whether they would. And you maintained the West should stay out of things, and applauded those who avoided providing military aid to Ukraine ahead of this thing kicking off.
Y'all wanna see what Russian propaganda looks like, read azelkhntr's post above. I've highlighted one excerpt to show you how ridiculous this is. azelkhuntr claims that the Ukrainian government is populated with actual (his words) Nazis.
The Ukrainian president is Jewish. He lost relatives in the Holocaust. This idea of the Ukrainian government being Nazis is being pushed by Putin as a pretext for his invasion of Ukraine and as a rationale to replace the current regime. It is Russian propaganda. Just like the remaining 99% of what azelkhntr posts. It reeks of vodka and Borscht.

But, I also understand that sone won’t see it that way for personal reasons.
Anyways, here we are. The great Joe Biden is leading an America that now is fixing to pay for this one way or the other. By increased military spending and/or, increased oil costs. And the trickle down affect it has on EVERYTHING.

Yes, in a recent conversation after Russia invaded Ukraine Trump said he’d start WW3 over this.
CLIMATE CHANGE IS NOT KILLING PEOPLE, PUTIN IS,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Not surprising that the Russian troll wants the autocrats and communists to dictate the global order.
“Beijing’s relentless drive to transform itself into a global power places it in direct competition with the U.S.”
“China, Russia, and other authoritarian states, and a technological revolution that is reshaping every aspect of our lives and that requires us to meet challenges not only from great powers and regional adversaries, but also from violent and criminal non-state actors and extremists, and from threats like climate change, infectious disease, cyberattacks, and disinformation that respect no national borders.”
"We must be under no illusions: if we allow Vladimir Putin to seize Ukraine, it will send a signal to our enemies, Iran, China and North Korea especially, that we will do nothing when faced with an onslaught of force.”
“What Biden needs to do is flip the script. Instead of talking concessions, he should look at how quickly he can reinforce the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, and make every effort to contribute to the self-defense of Ukrainian territory by Ukrainians.”
“China and Russia share the same goals of destabilizing Western Europe and isolating the U.S. The solution is simple. Establish a strong military deterrence in Europe and punish China.”
Dana, you really blow your credibility with the above statement. Did you stop reading the news in the 1970s?

https://time.com/3545855/russia-ukraine-war-history/
"Russians Rewrite History to Slur Ukraine Over War"
This rhetoric—calling it an argument would overstate its relation to facts—has recently come into vogue among Russian historians. Under their interpretation of history, the struggle that began with the German invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941 continues for Russia today, in a direct line through the generations, with the conflict in Ukraine. That is the connection President Vladimir Putin first presented to the Russian people in March, when he sent his troops to invade and annex the Ukrainian region of Crimea. The Russian-speaking residents of that peninsula, he said in a speech on the day of the annexation, need Russia’s protection from Ukraine’s new leaders, whom he referred to as “neo-Nazis and anti-Semites.” Ukraine’s ensuing war to prevent Russia from seizing any more of its territory has likewise been branded a fascist campaign against ethnic Russians...
Practically every arm of the Russian state, from the education system to the national police, has since taken up this message. The state media have consistently painted Ukrainian authorities as “fascists” in the service of the U.S. government. In late September, Russia’s main investigative body even opened a criminal probe accusing Ukraine’s leaders of committing “genocide” against ethnic Russians in eastern Ukraine. But the more recent involvement of the nation’s historians has marked a worrying turn in this endeavor...
The following day, in one of its auditoriums, Russian historians took the stage one after the other to draw an explicit link between the Hitler’s Reich and today’s Ukraine. None of them mentioned Russia’s military support for the rebels in eastern Ukraine or the encouragement they got from Russia in rising up against the government in Kiev this spring. Nor did the speakers dwell on the fact that the far right is hardly the driving force of Ukrainian politics. The country’s new President Petro Poroshenko is a liberal Westernizer with no links to Ukrainian nationalist parties, and the supposed popularity of those parties in Ukraine was exposed this week as a Russian fabrication; in the parliamentary elections held on Oct. 26, they failed to win a single seat in the legislature. But from the speeches presented at the conference in Moscow, one would assume that Poroshenko and his allies are all just resurrected Nazis in disguise.
Again, azelkhntr is somewhere on the spectrum from "swallowing Russian propaganda hook, line, and sinker" to "active Russian agent spreading Russian State propaganda." Y'all can decide where he falls.
"The Russian Federation is NOT going to invade Ukraine! They are engaging in a planned beforehand military exercise with Belarus. There is no upside for the RF to invade Ukr. none. Pr. Putin holds Europes balls in his hand. He doesn't have to invade; all he has to do is cut off the oil and gas pipelines to get what he wants. Did any of you read Pr. Zelensky's open letter to the world today? Nowhere in that letter did he mention Russia. Read between the lines. He warned that NATO in conjunction with the US is going to start a war. The US is the aggressor here. Remember what happened in Libya? Don't fall for this crap."
Now he's cheering for and claiming:
"Vlad the Bold has won out"
Does anyone take this Russian troll seriously? God, I hope not.

Don’t be fooled with the slang and simpleton reasoning as he pushes those that resent him harder. Shawn is very intelligent. And, played many of the bowsite Covid PD like a drum.
BEG, you may want to lighten up azIvan his pm reads like he's close to a Nazi induced breakdown temper trantrum.
You mean like when he predicted Covid would make the Bubonic Plague look like the common cold, and he bragged about stock piling N95 mask and making his own disinfecting potions? Or, how about when he predicted the National Guard would be deployed to shut down interstate travel? Or, when he boasted about getting his first 2 covid shots, and claimed he would get boosted for the extra 40% protection, then flip-flopped his whole opinion on Covid and the vaccines?
Yeah, he really played the Covid PD like a drum all right. LOL!!
Some of you have really poor memories, apparently.
Matt
Of course economic and diplomatic punishment is valid but we better play it right.
Now the Gray Goober would have you think he is the Gandalf of the Grey from the Fangorn Forest and will save two string hunting from string the riflers. What I did see was a guy who made claims to inflame people. He even created a lot of “other” people doing the same. And, if my memory serves me right, it worked pretty well.
It still begs to be answered. Who is worse? A guy doing what he does. Or the handful of people bantering with him and his online profiles? It wasn’t hard to tell from the minute he started it. Yet for months he’s yanked you fellas around his merry go round.
Call me the one outta touch if you care too. But, you can’t call me dumb enough not to see that from the beginning.
Matt
Time will tell, but if he just has to incur the current cost another week or two then a lower clean-up cost and a few months of sanctions until the world starts to accept Russian control of Ukraine, all while oil keeps flowing, it will likely be viewed as a bargain. Bargain hunters are always on the lookout for the next one.
It doesn't stop there though. The plan is to push north and south. Turkey may have as much to lose as well and do you think putin cares whether or not two coastal countries across from Finland are part of NATO?
The best solution doesn't involve putin alive in the world anymore...
PS European nations are sending tons of weapons to Ukraine. Vlad's good buddies are losing their money, their yachts, etc. and starting to figure he's a liability. buh-bye
What's incredible to me is the private sector response as well. The number of countries that have said they are not doing business in or with Russia is incredible. Even areas like the sporting world where now F1 has pulled out, Russian teams suspended from FIFA and EUFA competition. While these actions may not be as crippling as others, Russia is basically being rendered invisible on a world stage. You couple that with sanctions and being shut out of the world economy and I think there's a very real possibility it leads the Russian populace to revolt against Putin.
Something needs to change to have putin's inner circle turn on him...
Siberia here we come!
Not to mention China has to be watching the worlds current events.
Now we see why giving LA assistance before the Rooskies rolled in would have been very helpful.

Russia’s trade with China has boomed in recent years. In 2020, Russia’s exports to that country totaled some $49 billion, mainly commodities. The same year Russia’s imports from China were around $54 billion, mainly manufactured goods (including second-rate military hardware). China has not joined international sanctions against Russia. The bilateral trade between the two countries, which face one another along a 2,600-mile border, thus is poised to grow even more.
I think about our own and if where us.
Incomprehensible.

Apologies if this is posted and I overlooked, but a US-based Russian businessman has put a $1M bounty on "war criminal" Putin. Even his own people are calling for his head.
"Sure Russia can get cut off from the world but if China takes up the slack Putin’s war money keeps rolling in."
China's economy depends on the global market/economy. China doesn't have the necessary resources to be self-sustaining. Without foreign money rolling in, China isn't any different than small GDP countries. Both China and Russia are copy-cats with technology and development. That's what happens with communism. Innovation doesn't exist because you limit yourself on brain-power, “from each according to his ability, to each according to his need". Only select individuals contribute to research and development determined at a young age. You don't get to development that talent over time, as you get to in a capitalist environment.
I think about our own and if where us.
Incomprehensible.
The new assessment of time for the end user to get and use donated lethal aid is weeks if not months now.
Kellog and the rest have know this from onset of hostilities. Joe could have really done some famage if he did not hold up Trump Aid packages after taking office!

I think it's time to call putin's bluff.
On a side note for all those that are on all these threads arguing with the village idiots, you do realize what that makes you look like as well??? And if you're not sure if you're one of the village idiots, WELL
Maybe just a good solid Bowsite nut job!!
As for the powerful people involved, keep an open mind because this isn't as simple as good guys vs bad guys.

Don't fall for this crap.”
Edit: I guess he did get one thing right when he finished with "Don't fall for this crap.”
Don't worry, we aren't falling for your crap.

Still living on Isolationist Fantasy Island, Shawn ?
Even if we ignore the 'humanitarian' aspects of this conflict, do we have no problem with letting Putin grow more powerful? Maybe YOU don't, tovarisch.

Perhaps Putin is that stupid as it has been reported he sent 3 different groups to kill Zelensky and all 3 failed. The Ukrainians were allegedly tipped off by those within Putin's own ranks. More likely it is that the Russian efforts are going badly due to poor preparation and tactics. There is supposedly a 40 mile-long convoy outside of Kyiv that has been stalled for 2 days and no one seems to know why. Potentially due to supply line disruptions.
I read an article earlier that Russians took out the 3G/4G cellphone infrastructure in parts of Ukraine (Kharkiv in particular) that their encrypted comms system relies on, so the Ukrainians are now able to listen in to their military orders. The article stated they were even able to determine whose phone it was in one call based on using an open source look-up apps on the phone #/SIM card to determine its owner.
Seems like things are going really, really well for them.

Fitch Ratings slashed its assessment of Russia to almost the bottom of its scale, just days after downgrading it from investment status.
It is the latest blow to the country's creditworthiness in the wake of its invasion of Ukraine.
This week, Moscow said its bond payments may be affected by sanctions."

Never met the White Supremacist Nazis you seem to believe run rampant there.
Spent a powerful night with some Kulaks. They shared some of their family history under Stalin. Ukrainians have some strong motivations for not submitting to Russians.
I also spent a decent chunk of time in Russia. I’m pretty familiar with those maps as well in case you need directions there as well. Heck, I could even tell you where to go… in Russian… if you know what I mean.
We’d better start paying attention.
The luxury high-tech bunker is located in the Altai Mountains and was designed for protection in the event of a nuclear war.
Observers have noted multiple ventilation points in the grounds surrounding the mountain hideout, and a high-voltage line linked to an ultra-modern 110-kilovolt substation, enough to power a small city.
Hmmm Hiel to da bunker!
Showing your true colors there, tovarishch. Idi nakhuy sam.
Watch this from WION news. A succinct, up to date and accurate overview of what's happening. Gravitas on WION news is, IMO, the very best coverage you'll get and you can get a ton of great background on the whole history of this war. Shawn and Azelk have reached “Trump” status! Nobody likes the way they talk, but they also can’t dispute them with anything viable, so all they can do is call for their removal!! Lol….oh the irony is rampant.
I don't want Az 'removed' - people need to see what 'five sigmas from the mean' looks like.
As for 'can’t dispute them with anything viable', well, when any report you don't like is mainstream media lies!!! and you're parroting 'Pravda' like a robot, what's the point? This is where the cult of personality that is Trumpism has brought us. Enjoy.
Sure is crazy what 15 years can do to a website. I used to come here and gleam information from the worlds best bow hunters. Now I’m arguing with a communist that killing women and children is reprehensible. And I’ve got no one but myself to blame. Spend time elsewhere. It just ain’t worth it.
Since when are hypersonic weapons faster then conventional warheads?
I thought the main reason to be worried about hypersonic weapons was they flew low so they couldn’t be picked up on radar until it is too late. If that is true that throws your whole theory out that they wound beat conventional warheads to their targets if conventional warheads were launched first.
This isn't an 'intervention', it's an INVASION. Let's all use English as it was intended - to communicate, not obfuscate.

I’m not downplaying Ukrain by any means, but we have plenty of humanitarian issues right here at home. Yet we all sit around and marvel at the rest of the world as our own goes to shit. I think that ALSO qualifies as disgusting. We keep beating each other down. We’ve already stopped defending each other as fellow Americans, and now everyone we disagree with is our mortal enemy. I served this country, it really sucks to see it continue to commit suicide, with no hopes of an intervention!

Some of these labs receive financial and other support from the US, the European Union and the World Health Organization (WHO) - as is the case in many other countries.
Despite Russian claims that these are "secret" labs, details of US involvement can be found on the US embassy's website. "
Read that last again. Then ask yourself why secret conspiracy labs are DETAILED ON A US GOVERNMENT WEBSITE.
Sheesh, the gullibility of paranoids is a wonder to behold.
It probably doesn’t take any amount of intent to start listening to what’s being said. By the same people who were quoted last week as these labs being harmless. That are now saying otherwise.
Why in the world would the us gooberment be so concerned with these labs if they were so harmless? Why would they testify to the danger the pose if Russia over takes them? Cone on men, be objective across the board. Not just what suits your emotions.
Mike in CT's Link
There is a world of difference between bioweapons labs and bioresearch labs; the former has an obvious purpose, the latter the exact opposite.
After the fall of the Soviet Union the western nations (and bordering nations) had to face an uncomfortable reality; the existence of stockpiles of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons known to exist in the old Red Menace. Bioresearch facilities were constructed for the purpose of providing mitigation at minimum and best case scenario, workable treatments in the event any of these items were ever used in an attack.
Why the concern if they're benign some ask of falling into Russian hands? Simple; the research techniques developed in the quest for treatments can be reverse engineered and if the Russians don't have this technology what better (and easier) way to acquire it?
I'm providing a link that is a good starting point for any interested in getting a decent handle on this.
Matt
Not saying there ain't a fair amount of 'spin' in what our government says, but we do allow opposing views. The key is knowing the difference between healthy skepticism and complete paranoid distrust.
With all due respect Mike, you can continue to post links that matches what we were being told by the gooberment. It doesn’t answer anything of concern.
Our own government has admitted these facilities need to be protected from Russian control. That being the case, the distinguishing difference doesn’t matter. Or shouldn’t in anyway.
It was advisors in OUR government making the claims of danger. Not some alt right news source. So, I’ll stay where I’m at until something arises to change my opinion on how critical these sites must be.
If you have anything certain, I’m all ears. But, this administration walked right by these defenses Dismissing them. And, have winced backed up stating they are critical. So, I’ll refrain from the idea suggesting this is a big nothing until it’s proven to be that way.
That’s not conspiracy. That being prudent.
A bit like not wanting all that dirty coal and oil being burnt in our face. Send it offshore and just get the "clean" goods back.
The thing that bothers me the most is US politics has become so divisive that there are segments of our society that are actually siding with communist propoganda, if they think it sheds a bad light on our current administration. I never thought I'd see this in the US. Despite our political biases, there has always been a clear distinction between who our allies and enemies were. 20 years ago you would have never seen a Russian sympathizer be allowed to post his propaganda on this site. Yet, here we are today, and some people are defending our Russian troll. That sickens me.
Matt
It’s as matter of perception. No different than folks here accusing you of being a bowlib. You’re calling the kettle black. By the way Matt, what do you defend lately? I’m not trying to be rude but you seem to have moved to the middle of the road. A lot of opinion, but no conviction.
I’m not saying any of this was bad for the American people. Except the way it is being fed to us. Straight up lying. Then back pedaling.
I don’t believe Putins crap. However, I’m forced to believe there is more to the eye then what this administration claimed. And, they proved it when back tracking on previous statements released about these labs existence. That’s the issue.
Azelk, perhaps I’m not understanding your post. I don’t support censorship, if that is what you’re implying. Forgive me if I misunderstood.

Son, 'free speech', like every other 'right', has a corresponding _responsibility._ Which is to speak the truth to the best of one's knowledge. To lie, to slander, to defraud, to mislead are NOT protected forms of 'free speech'. 'Fact checking' is a way of suppressing ABUSE of 'free speech.'
But hey, you're not the only one laboring under that common misconception.
The news about Russian collusion wasn’t fake. But you believed the guy that said it was. The reason those on the far right have a problem with fact checking is because most of it doesn’t agree with the fake news spewed by Trump and company.
Why? Because you say so? Or any other Democrat? Riiiiiiiight........ Totally true and without bias.....and the earth is flat.
I can't believe that so many people are so willing to accept Russian propaganda just because it's parrotted on some right-wing media sites. It's not just that you are so gullible, it's more to me that you are so unpatriotic.
Dumbest post of the year. The truth is the truth. You don’t get to decide. It’s either true or fake. Opinion or fact.
Phil X1000
The truth is the truth.
I would have been happier if Nuland answered "No" when asked if Ukraine had bioweapon labs instead of skipping the "Yes" or "No" and just explaining that biolabs are there and contain dangerous material.
Having biolabs with pathogens in them isn't automatically a bad thing. I expect us to be the world leader in studying them and defending against them if used as weapons or in the event of a pandemic. I can't say that having them in China or next to Russia is a good thing. Somewhere like Kwajalein or Antarctica seem like better choices if something escapes.
Oh, dear Lordy!! “onionbreath”!!! Never have my delicate sensibilities been so savagely eviscerated in such a creative and colorful fashion. I best sit down lest I become woozy.
Here you go az; You made sweeping statements. Claims that are wrong. Ukraine is not overrun with Nazis. Additional free tips… The Russian invasion does not consist of Mormons on their mission trip. Aristotle is not Belgian. Algebra is neither an Islamic News Agency, nor an R&B vocalist. To call you moronic would indeed be an insult to morons.
The problem with any hazardous bio labs is the hazardous bio part. It does not need to be a weapons lab to be dangerous. Accidentally cracking open some smallpox, anthrax or other pathogens would be bad. The Russian conscripts at the front probably don’t have the training to handle hazardous pathogens.
For Pete’s sake, there are plenty of things in your local hospital that would be problematic if they were cracked open accidentally or negligently.
In your local hospital.
Putin’s boys have poisoned people with dioxins, polonium, ricin and novichok… that we know of. With no regard for innocent civilians in the vicinity of the targets… or even those tasked with delivering the poison.
I don’t doubt for a second that some nineteen year old kid from Koryazhma or some other backwater town could be ordered to crack open something best left closed.
Surely one of your many upper echelon contacts must have shared some of that with you.
Hard to figure that out these days!!!
Now fact checking is suppression of free speech? Seriously? So, the alternative is everybody just makes up whatever "facts" they want, and others choose which ones they want to believe? That's religion, not fact finding.
Matt
There will always be the azelkhntr's presenting silliness, but trying to beat it underground only has the opposite affect. Most everything exposed to the sunlight will be proven right or wrong, on it's own merits, by time and sober thought.
Forced or subversive censorship is never better for truth.
Using provable facts to counter unfounded opinions is not suppression, oppression or censorship. It's just sound debate. If you believe that 'even facts' can be easily suppressed by 'checking', well, maybe those 'facts' are really just 'opinion'. I've seen too much blurring of the two.
" Forced or subversive censorship is never better for truth. "
Ayuh. But Russia still thinks it's working for them.
And who’s job is it to determine another individual’s level of knowledge? Seems to me I’m free to say whatever I want to say. It the recipients job, if interested in the information, to decide if it’s accurate or not. It’s kind of like COVID; if you’re afraid to catch it, stay home. But don’t expect the rest of the world to cater to you. Humans have been telling lies since we’ve been able to speak. Even more humans are naturally misinformed. Who are you or anyone else to make the determination as to allow it or not? Talk about arrogance!!! Who IS the reigning truth expert…Jen Psaki and the China joe show??? lol!
If you think that's true, trying falsely yelling "BOMB!!" on a plane, or "FIRE!!" in a crowded theater, and see how far your right to say anything takes you. It's likely to take you to the nearest jail. By your logic, you have the right to advocate murder, or child pornography, on this site or anywhere. Do you honestly believe that?
Matt
Repeating that without research doesn’t make me liar or a criminal…but, I know you’re smart enough to know what I’m getting at. Nice try tho!
So who's fact checkers do you believe? The checkers sponsored by the Chicken Producers Ass. or the Peta sponsored checkers? Oil producers or green enviro orgs.? Fact Checkers are often anything but.
The problem with "facts" and "truth" is that they are often simply alignments of what we already believe to be such.
So, when azelkhntr posts nonsense presented as facts, like the Covid vaccines causes AIDS for example, do you not think that's spreading false fear? Your example of quoting what someone said in Cabelas is called heresay. It doesn't hold up in court, nor is it evidence of the truth in public. That's not even within the realm of the free speech discussion.
You said:
"Seems to me I’m free to say whatever I want to say."
You didn't qualify that in any way, and therefore you were dead wrong. Moving the goal posts, after the fact, doesn't change that. Freedom of speech has always had limitations. I'd list a few of them for you, if I thought it would sway you, but I know better.
Matt
If someone, say az, projects his view onto a subject, like Marcel Proust shining his “magic lantern” onto his door… has he discovered a new reality? Has anything changed?
Or… even if someone else is in your “room” and your projection is seen by them… and believed… is the door anything different?
Or… is there an underlying intrinsic truth or reality?
If you repeat a lie long enough, does it become the truth? Or is that just a stronger projection that interferes with the perception of reality?
It’s not the same as hollering “bomb onboard” in mid flight. So, No, because perhaps I’m too ignorant to know whether it’s true or not. I’ve heard that same claim recently during C19. Here is where the “common sense” factors in. I personally research the things that concern ME.
“If you repeat a lie long enough, does it become the truth?”
I don’t know…there are still folks that believe the Russia Collusion lie. But I have yet to see CNN or the china joe admin, issue any corrections or apologies saying otherwise. Yet… they’re the same ones claiming that they are the misinformation judge, jury, and executioner, regardless of the perception of reality. This topic is too dynamic to accuse me of moving the goalpost. I’m not referring strictly to life or death situations, as much as daily conversation such as we share here on the Bowsite. But, again, you already knew that.
Ha!! Irony much?
“ Poor fools thinking they go into other countries and take up arms, with no repercussions.”
Well chillkill, remember Simo Hayha? Maybe that Finn only really killed 250 Russians instead of somewhere around 500.
And the videos of the Mujahideen sawing off the heads of Russian soldiers well before Isis?
“ Poor fools thinking they go into other countries and take up arms, with no repercussions.”
There are the descendants of Kulaks who survived Stalin’s efforts in Ukraine by eating their dead family members. That’s some strong resolve and will to survive.
Those genes and family histories have been passed down. There could be some pretty strong animus against Russians invading and killing more generations.
There could be repercussions.
“ Poor fools thinking they go into other countries and take up arms, with no repercussions.”
Who knows? Maybe a modern adaptation of Russian Tea Cakes could become popular amongst these grandchildren of cannibals. You know. A more savory version. Kind of a take off on Rocky Mountain Oysters.
“ Poor fools thinking they go into other countries and take up arms, with no repercussions.”
So, if you join your comrades on their great adventure instead of banging away on your computer keyboard with agitprop… bring some flour and spices.
‘Cause I’ll be rooting for the next Simo. I’d understand the savagery of someone carving you up. And yes, I’d want the cannibalistic descendants of those Kulaks to have a better meal.
Who knows what could happen? Ukraine could succumb. Ukraine could be overrun and then brutal resistance continues. I suspect that the will exists to exact a steep price on Russians in Ukraine and that price will get higher and more brutal with time as the desire for revenge and retribution grows.
But, I could be wrong. I have been before. I didn’t think you could post something true or insightful. And here we are.
“ Poor fools thinking they go into other countries and take up arms, with no repercussions.”
Repercussions.

A quick Google search proves there is no truth to this. This link is one of many that prove it. It really isn't that hard.
There's not a single credible medical expert that agrees. But that's no surprise, because. you've been wrong on 100% of the trash you post. Here's just a few quotes from true experts. Feel free to check their qualifications.
"“There is no phenomenon that I know of ‘Vaccine-induced immunodeficiency syndrome.’ It is not a real syndrome,” Donna Farber, chief of the Division of Surgical Sciences and Professor of Microbiology & Immunology at Columbia University, told Reuters via email.
Likewise, Stephen Gluckman, MD, a professor of Infectious Diseases in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and the medical director of Penn Global Medicine, told Reuters “VAIDS” is “absolutely not” a real condition.
“AIDS is a generalized body-wide compromise of a specific subset of immune cells (mostly CD4+ lymphocytes) caused specifically by infection with the HIV-1 virus,” said Dr. Grant McFadden, director of the Biodesign Center for Immunotherapy, Vaccines and Virotherapy at Arizona State University. “There is no vaccine-induced counterpart of AIDS.”
Thomas Russo, chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases in the University of Buffalo's Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, said on December 17 that the recommendation "doesn't mean they're undermining your immune system," but rather that a "third shot in the series was necessary to optimize that response." "There is no truth that the vaccination causes this," he said of the claim that Covid-19 vaccines undermine the immune system, adding: "Vaccination actually does the opposite."
Jason McKnight, clinical assistant professor at the Texas A&M College of Medicine, also dismissed the claim, saying on December 17: "There is no such thing as vaccine acquired immunodeficiency syndrome or VAIDS.""
Do I need to go on? The whole notion of VAIDS has been debunked hundreds of times by medical professionals. The whole VAIDs thing got traction on social media when the whack-job conspiracy theorists, Alex Jones, claimed a "new" HIV VB variant was spreading in the Netherlands and he claimed it was directly linked to the Covid vaccines. The problem with his lies is the HIV VB variant first emerged around 1998, long before Covid or the vaccines. Oops.....
Matt
What does matter is whether you, the Russians and Tucker Carlson are honest about the labs. And none of you have been. Here are some documented facts:
"The United States and Ukraine in 2005 had signed an agreement under which the Defense Department, at no cost to Ukraine, would assist the Ministry of Health in making sure that Ukrainian labs studying diseases could not be used to develop biological weapons and in better detecting, diagnosing and monitoring infectious-disease outbreaks. The United States “has invested approximately $200 million in Ukraine since 2005, supporting 46 Ukrainian laboratories, health facilities, and diagnostic sites,” the Defense Department said in a fact sheet released Friday.
“The Russian charges that the Lugar Center and other biological labs in the Caucasus and Central Asia are making banned bioweapons are unfounded,” wrote biological threat expert Filippa Lentzos in 2018. “Last week a group of international experts, including this author, visited the Lugar Center by invitation of the Georgian government. We were given access to all areas of the site, examined relevant documentation, and interviewed staff, and concluded that the Center demonstrates significant transparency. Our group observed nothing out of the ordinary, or that we wouldn’t expect to see in a legitimate facility of this sort.”
Hey, check it out! Now let’s hear you explain Russia collusion in the same manner. Oh yeah… that’s different cuz it was about trump!
Churchill and Patton were against letting Russia take over Eastern Europe.
So thank FDR, one of Biden’s hero’s, for todays Ukraine debacle.
If you read summaries of his Rendezvous With Destiny speech I believe you'll get some an opposing view of your comment, straight from the horses mouth.
IMO Every proxy war with Russia should be laid at FDRs feet. Korea, Viet Nam. Cuban missile crisis. All the 1980-1990s East European conflicts.
“ Oh, and onionbreath I explained about the NAZIS in Ukraine quite a while back. You should read those. “
Sniff… bbbbbbbut you made fun of my “handle”.
Oh. Wait. That’s totally different and in no way ironic.
Maybe that Soviet efficiency was overstated. Maybe more survived than you think. Maybe their children’s children took heed. Maybe they’ll fight far more savagely than you expect. Maybe what you believe is like Proust’s fanciful projections on the door.
I stumbled across something the other day. The resurrected blurbs about Putin being immortal with pictures supposedly showing him from different time periods. Vlad the deathless.
Made me think of Koschei.
Maybe Zelenskyy doesn’t need to go to Baba Yaga. Maybe he already has the magic horse. It’s actually just terrible resolve.
“ Poor fools thinking they go into other countries and take up arms, with no repercussions.”
Your words.
Keep up? With your Russian propaganda? LOL
We have been over this yet you persist in claiming the US funds bio-labs in Ukraine. Right from the Russian playbook. It just isn't true. And no matter how many times you say it it will never be true. In fact, most of what you say isn't true. But you don't seem to care about the truth.
I thought it was confirmed we funded bio-labs in Ukraine, just not bio-weapon labs?
That would be a Russian whore.
There is an existing treaty that prohibits the US from funding any bio-labs that create weapons.
The rest of the story is: "The DOD clarified that the laboratories in Ukraine are owned and operated by the country’s government – not the United States. There are five biological research laboratories in Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, with work focused on “diagnostics, therapeutics, treatments, prevention and vaccines,” the DOD said. These labs do not make weapons."
The key points being that the US is not funding bio-labs today and the bio-labs never created weapons.
We were funding them as late as 2018. Bio labs. Not bio weapons labs. FWIW, there is one common denominator in those two. So, it’s safe to say the bio is the weapon however it’s presented.
Phil, Are you suggesting that if the labs are only research labs, that they offer a threat if Russia gets their hands on the material and information of the research? If so, why?
I’m not being confrontational. I’m being honest. You made the claim it simply isn’t true. Kinda like you know something no one else does for certainty.
We were funding them. Now, we are concerned the research on how to deal with pathogens created there is going to g bye ll the Russians? Why? Because you say so?
Not that I’m saying you are wrong. I’m just curious, how you can declare that with certainty. Over the possibility that there is a serious reason nuland suggests the research needs to be kept away from Russia.
At the end of the talk, there is a session for questions. Little Sasha puts her hand up and says, "I have two questions. First, why did the Russians take Crimea and second, why are we attacking Ukraine?” Putin says, "Good questions". But just as he is about to answer the bell rings and the kids go to lunch.
When they come back, they sit down and there is a little time for some final questions. Another girl, Misha, puts her hand up and says "I have four questions. Why did the Russians invade Crimea, why are we attacking Ukraine, why did the lunch bell ring 20 minutes early, and where the hell is Sasha?
And why hasn't Putin sent in his 'best' yet? Parts and fuel? Logistics?
I have no idea what "KEK" means, but I'm told it's used by teenagers who are obsessed with video war games.
Matt
I addressed your questions to Phil earlier but I'll recap them here:
Now without getting into semantics it isn't a stretch to make the argument that bioresearch labs can produce bioweapons; everything needed to do so is in place. You also need pathogens to be able to produce vaccines and therapies; these are stored safely and if you've never been in a BSL-4 level lab (I have) watch the movie "Outbreak" to get a rough sense of the safety protocols in place. It's not like a kid lifting a candy bar at the local 7-11.
The value to Putin is two-fold; first, it's a convenient misdirection to excuse an invasion; tell the lie, tell it often and let it be amplified to the point where perception becomes reality. The ability to access technologies they don't have is gravy and the ability to reverse engineer is a gold mine.
Surely you are able to check facts before you make incorrect statements.
“U.S. border officials reported seizing 10,856 pounds of fentanyl being smuggled across the southwest border in fiscal year 2021, a 132% increase from fiscal year 2020. Some Republicans have misleadingly suggested that the amount of drugs seized is a negative development attributable to the immigration policies of President Joe Biden.
But the steep rise started in mid-2020 under then-President Donald Trump.“
I'm sorry but my post was intended for Justin in response to his question and to all of the adults participating in this thread; both conditions obviously exclude you.
I am willing to offer you an opinion (upon request) though so that at least the next time you post here it will be a post that's actually worth reading and one that will not insult the intelligence of anyone with an IQ slightly higher than the average pencil.
Now, find a nice quiet spot, a box of crayons and a coloring book and let the adults continue an actual discussion.
Surely you are able to check facts before you make incorrect statements.
“U.S. border officials reported seizing 10,856 pounds of fentanyl being smuggled across the southwest border in fiscal year 2021, a 132% increase from fiscal year 2020. Yeah, totally ignoring the efforts of Ukraine to clean up corruption over the past several years.
And if you're still bleating about the mysterious 'New World Order', why ain't you in your bunker staring at your 50 gallon drums of rice and beans, and fondling your AK?
"Paranoia is its own punishment."
It started in 2017, and Trump signed an order to increase BP agents. It’s increasing more likely from the recent 6-8 year rise in popularity of fentanyl.
Sounds like Trump inherited it from Obama!!!
He'd have access to technology to potentially improve upon what he has, for example, a better vector to deliver a bioweapon. A good example would be if you have a bioweapon that has limited transmission qualities but you can engineer it to be an aerosolized version; the ability to infect large numbers easily can be significantly increased.
Another avenue is to enhance pathogenicity; again, the technical knowledge may be beyond what the Soviet Union had when their old stockpiles were developed so that's a risk of his getting access to them.
If you gain access to defenses (vaccines, treatments, etc) you can also then work on ways to negate them; again, there's risk there so it's why him gaining any technical knowledge, materials etc. is a concern.
None of this isn’t something I hadn’t already considered. I think 99.9% of the people who were told about these labs and our governments involvement also considered those examples as valid and 100% true. And, I can almost also assure you that technology and American funding guarantees he’d get knowledge gained by that research, to improve the weapons.
So, here we are again. Back to the start. Back to the realization that politics ensures some people will argue the labs weren’t bioweapons labs. And, I’ll say those people are playing semantics with words due to their political leaning. The labs researched biological weapons and material to increase, negate, improve, etc…. So, am I just dumb or does it seem we are prematurely dismissing these labs as research facilities instead of bio weapons labs? I hear you and others say they weren’t. And, I’ll say again. How do you know?
You don’t. Nor do I. I just know we both can agree that there was biological material and research done in some of those labs. And, the weapon itself is that bio material and the knowledge gained from “researching” . That’s why I’m irritated the whole Ukraine deal is being dismissed as conspiracy if one question arises from anywhere but the pretty road the media and this administration is paving. After this Covid crap, I’m not willing to just shrug it off as such. I think we all need to be skeptic of anything with these possibilities.
Not one thing we’ve witnessed concerning Ukraine in the last 5 weeks is coincidental. Not one thing. This was too easy to prevent to just say it’s Putin against Ukraine and half the world. And, before we send our folks to die for this, we gotta stop and thank about these labs and how severe this might be. Research or weapons lab? I could truly care less. Either one creates weapons of mass destruction.
I know one other thing too. it’s starting to look like our government is/has funded a lot of things biologically, in places besides our borders. Which is dumb as rocks if you don’t make sure the people you paid to do this research, doesn’t use it to harm you.
You simply can’t make this stuff up.

Supposedly a majority of this country voted for this disaster. How can you be so condescending? You are a misinformed, racist, homophobic, terrorist, for even questioning it! Those people almost died on January 6th. You should be more sympathetic toward them!
Like the reality TV show, Survivor, everybody is scheming, lying, promising and pumping and nobody is sure about anything and everything can change in a minute. Nobody wants to be the one who's torch gets put out.
The best outcome would be for Putin to be taken out internally. A slim hope. About the same chances as a NR WY elk draw in the future.
What stops him now is force. And. Ukraine doesn’t have enough force to make that happen. What would have stopped him from doing it was a show of force from nato when this build up on the border started. There again, there are reasons that wasn’t done. Leading to the innocent deaths of people fighting for their home.
Pissed is an understatement. Confused is too. Let’s have press briefs where Joe can squint into the camera as he threatens Putin about things he is/ has already done/doing. It’s all show. The big question is why?
We probably wouldn't be happy if we saw them but it would likely explain things that currently make no sense.
'Ike' (Phone)'s Link
Maybe as simple as players using a crisis to cover failures and further unpopular agendas. Maybe as complicated as creating or prolonging a crisis to accomplish those things. Easy to put a black hat on Putin. Easy to put a white hat on the innocent people suffering and fighting for survival. Not as easy to choose a color for other players.
I’m curious…How do you think this is manifesting itself now? What are the players doing (or not doing) that you think lends credence to your theory?
Simply too many odd turns for me to not have my spidey sense tingle.
The delay in stopping Russian oil imports, cozying up to Iran and Venezuela, not being proactive on increasing our own energy output, Europe not stepping up sooner and louder, all the messy Ukraine stuff that's been going on for years, billions in aid but we don't see the type of resistance in Ukraine that billions, in addition to their own defense budget, should facilitate.
The biolabs didn't help. I have no issue with us studying dangerous pathogens but next to Russia in a country that's been fighting with Russia for years seems odd.
I'm not saying the Illuminati, lizard people or the Dutch are orchestrating some tragic mini-war to move markets or shift power but something is off.

During the Cuban Missile Crisis, President John F. Kennedy, on October 22, 1962, in a nationwide-televised speech, said, “It shall be the policy of this Nation to regard any nuclear missile launched from Cuba against any nation in the Western Hemisphere as an attack by the Soviet Union on the United States, requiring a full retaliatory response upon the Soviet Union.” Kennedy’s straightforward statement made America’s reliance on nuclear deterrence explicit. Subsequently, it became enshrined in MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction), which became foundational in the nation’s Cold War foreign policy.

I would be more concerned about the Chinese currency manipulation than Russia’s dying economy. A quick search on the subject produced this common belief “China wants its currency, the yuan,(Yen) to replace the U.S. dollar as the world's global currency. That would give it more control over its economy. As China's economic might grows, it's taking steps to make that happen. A slim majority of institutional investors see it as inevitable, but don't say when”
If the Yuan replaces the dollar, the US would be weakened drastically in many ways.

Several hundred Russian soldiers were forced to hastily withdraw from the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine after suffering “acute radiation sickness” from contaminated soil, according to Ukrainian officials.
The troops, who dug trenches in a contaminated Red Forest near the site of the worst nuclear disaster in history, are now reportedly being treated in a special medical facility in Gomel, Belarus. The forest is so named because thousands of pine trees turned red during the 1986 nuclear disaster. The area is considered so highly toxic that not even highly specialized Chernobyl workers are allowed to enter the zone.
The debacle is the latest in a series of missteps by the Russian troops struggling to keep their footing in their increasingly failed war.

I do not support the Russians but I do understand why they are doing it. It their position we would do the same. Most of Ukraine isn’t even engaged. It’s a very strategic and very sound plan as I have looked at it. They are after certain factions and will of course, succeed. Rightly so. Eliminating globalist ideology and eliminating the bio warfare labs and preventing NATO from putting nukes on their border is sound reasoning.
Those labs and NATO nukes is a huge overstep from globalists. We almost went to war once when Russia tried to put nukes in Cuba. Rightly so. But we don’t expect the nation of Russia to have those same rights?

Ukraine appears willing to fight to the death to remain an independent country. Whether they manage to keep some, or all of it, remains to be seen. No one ever thought they would have lasted more than a week! But without a significant battlefield win to retake some strategic land, it remains a bloody war of attrition.
Conventional wisdom would give that to Russia in the long run. But then again, just look at Afghanistan....

Not one of his “predictions” has come true yet.
Kind’a like “two weeks to flatten the curve” only its “two weeks to flatten Ukraine”. The first one didn’t wear well either.
Yeah, so northern Maine decides they want to be part of Canada and Ottowa *generously* shells the crap out of Bangor and Augusta to 'solidify their position'.
That is some whackbag spin right there, boy.

CBS on Friday promoted its new film ‘Arming Ukraine’ by explaining that the documentary “explores why much of the billions of dollars of military aid that the U.S. is sending to Ukraine doesn’t make it to the front lines: “Like 30% of it reaches its final destination.”

So F-em. If Putin is willing to roll the nuclear dice let's remind him that we have nukes too.... and based on how his guys and gear are performing thus far in Ukraine, the Russians have far more to fear than us. Putin says he isn't bluffing, the US should say we aren't impressed.
If Putin wasn't getting his ass handed to him in Ukraine, he wouldn't suddenly need an extra 300k troops and some way to stop his people from running for the border to escape the emergency troop mobilization

* Sieveirdonestk is now surrounded on two sides , and will soon be under Ukraine control. * The last rail transportation rail hub left for Russia to resupply their troops is Svatove , this will soon be in Ukrainian control as will 90% of Luhansk province. So much for rigged vote. Taking this rail hub will Cripple russias ability to support their troops in all of the Donbas. As russia army moves by rail , well know their truck logistics have proved ineffective.
The only rail line remaining is across the Kerch bridge to Crimea and then up entire peninsula to Kershon province. This bridge is vulnerable at this point Where it enters Kershon province, by Himars.
Watch Putin go nuts when his newly built Kerch bridge gets blown up by long range cruise missles.
At least all the top level civil and military leadership has left Crimea. Even the submarines have left the port and returned to Russia.
Russia ill equipped, no training new troops are in for a long cold winter unless Putin declares victory and lets them all go home by Christmas. A lot of tanks on rail cars have been seen crossing the Kerch bridge this week, more donations coming to Ukraines army, they wouldnt be to happy as they are old T-62 from 40-50 years ago. Russia now has supplied 392 usable tanks to Ukraine that is 92 more than the next leading western supplier.
So many are refusing to go in battle that up to 20 % of Russia's military is now made up of rufusniks and the guards guarding them and squads looking for refusniks leaving the front.
Perhaps machine guns will be setup behind the front lines ready to shoot any returning before achieving their objective like what happed in WW ll.
Already 260,000 have been mobilized! That is those that got mobile and left russia.
Heck, the guys from Narragansett Bowhunters could probably handle it ;-)

A battalion of Russian conscripts from Voronezh Oblast (Russia) was destroyed (529 men) near the village of Makiyivka, Svatove district, Luhansk Oblast by a Ukrainian strike; hundreds of Russian occupiers were killed.
Source: Russian news outlet Verstka, citing the surviving Russian soldier and relatives of the conscripts.
Details: One of the survivors, Russian serviceman Aleksey Agafonov, told Verstka about the losses among the conscripts as a result of a Ukrainian attack on the contact line near Makiivka in Luhansk Oblast. According to the soldier, the number of occupiers killed may exceed 500. According to Agafonov, the commander of the battalion of conscripts, who were trained in military unit 2079, had promised that the soldiers would be brought to Svatove, where they would join the "territorial defence" 15 kilometres away from the front line. However, on the night of 2 November, the entire battalion was taken to the contact line and ordered to entrench and hold the line of defence.
Quote from Agafonov: "We were dumped into the forest and ordered to entrench; we had only three shovels for the battalion, and there was no support at all. We entrenched as best we could, and in the morning the [Ukrainian] attack started. [Ukrainian forces used] artillery, Grad MLRS, mortars and copters; we were just shot.
When it all started, the officers immediately ran away. In between the attacks, we tried to entrench, but the copters immediately spotted us and just shot us. Out of 570 people, 29 managed to survive, 12 more were wounded, and the rest are all dead". More details: Agafonov also added that before this incident, at least one other battalion of conscripts was destroyed at the same position.
Side note another lieutenant general was replaced amid the chaos in putins 3 day take over of UKRAINE
Paka Comrades!
According to Agafonov, conscripts from all over Russia are being brought to the Svatove area to close the gaps in the defence. In Svatove, where the survivors of Agafonov's battalion retreated after the Ukrainian attack, there are "groups of 2 to 5 people" from other destroyed battalions who are just "wandering" around. He stated that the Ukrainian forces have cleared the entire territory where the conscripts fought.
Zlata, the wife of another conscript, told Verstka about the hundreds of soldiers killed. "Of course, more than half of them [conscripts] died," she said, citing her husband. The information gathered by Verstka was also confirmed by Lyudmila Chernykh, the wife of another conscript, who managed to survive. "He [my husband] called me in the morning from someone else's number and told me what happened, that they were left to dig the defence line, came under mortar fire, and somehow managed to get from Krasnodon to Svatove, where they are hiding. They are now afraid to go anywhere, they are even afraid to go to the checkpoints. Their commanders abandoned them, and they do not know what to do, they are just calling for help,"
Chernykh said. On 5 November, the relatives of several conscripts who had come under fire held a protest near the building of the Voronezh Prosecutor's Office, demanding to be told the truth about the fate of their family members. "They [authorities] tell us that our sons are safe and sound and are even performing their military duties. How the hell can they be safe and sound when all of them were killed there?" asked Oksana Kholodova, mother of the soldier Andrey Kholodov. Anna, the wife of another draftee, told Verstka that the surviving conscripts are asking to be sent home. "They are being bombed there. No officers, no one is there... They were left like kittens, without training or anything. And my husband and I have a daughter, she is only 18 months old," Anna said.

That would be so horribly embarrassing for Putin on the world stage, it must be some kind of a trap.
Moscow is running low both military hardware and personnel, having to fill the gaps with non-indigenous capabilities. It’s procuring weapons from Iran and North Korea and is relying on the mercenary contingent, the Wagner Group, the Chechen fighters, Kadyrov, to replenish its regular forces," Koffler said. "They are even recruiting prisoners and bringing in former Afghan security forces, who were displaced as the Taliban came back to power, after the U.S. withdrawal.
INSTITUTE FOR THE STUDY OF WAR
Russian forces are likely falsifying claims of advances in the Bakhmut area, pretending to have made progress in at least one sector amid sustained losses in northeastern and southern Ukraine. This is stated in the text of the next issue of the analytical note from specialists of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW). "Russian troops are not making significant progress in the Bakhmut area of the Donetsk Region or elsewhere along the front line," Washington experts said.
According to American researchers, the Russians are promoting a narrative of significant progress in Bakhmut, which is likely to improve the morale of the Russian troops and improve the personal position of the financier of the Wagner Group Yevgeny Prigozhin, whose troops are largely responsible for the minimal progress in this area. The occupiers reportedly made a limited advance towards the Ukrainian strong point in Bakhmut, but at a very slow pace and with heavy losses. Prigozhin acknowledged the slow pace of the group's ground operations around Bakhmut. This, according to his, as ISW writes, absurd statement, is a normal speed for a modern offensive. The Russians' claims, as noted, are actually exaggerated.

After 3 months the Vagner group and russian army still have not taken Bakmut. THREE MONTHS. Tens of thousands of ruskies have died for nothing and for this city that no longer has any military importance since all of the area to the north has been retaken by Ukraine forces. But the Vagner group cant concede and lose face they are in a death spiral “damn if you do damn if you don't”
A russian commander must have referenced world war 1, 1918 histroy book.
Its been noted that russians are building some impressive trench complexes the aerial photos show similar construction techniques to WWl trench configurations.
Unfortunately for russisn diggers, this is 2022, with todays drones its so easy to see the amount of troops and distribution of troops and layout of trenches, so far easier to defeat their handy work .
Why are the mobliztrd draftees not receive even minimal equipment and little if any training? The regular army ransacked the villages stores and homes during the summer and now foraging forays find little to eat as russian logistics fail to supply minimal food and water for survival mode let alone active military maneuvers. This winter may kill more russians than bullets will. So sad. You notice how the commanders are all plump and the frontline solders are so gauntly thin.

Solution? Give Ukraine the ability to strike deep into Russia where these missiles originate. F- Putin. He made the choice to invade and he is responsible for whatever happens as a result.
According to Forbes, the cost of one 3M-54 Kalibr missile is US$6.5 million. The Kh-101 missile is worth US$13 million, and the Kh-555 missile, according to open sources, is worth US$7.5 million
one Kh-59 guided missile costs US$300,000.
Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 attack drones, according to information in open sources, cost an estimated US$35,000 per unit.
As for the price of the Orion UAV, according to unofficial information of Russian defence outlets, the creation of one prototype of the strike UAV cost an estimated US$30 million. However, the price of the serial complex, which includes a control station and three UAVs, remains unknown.
As of mid-October, since the beginning of the full-scale aggression, Russia has fired 1,235 long-range high-precision missiles against Ukraine for a total amount of US$5.54 billion to $6.81 billion
Ouch!!! With 25% of russian population living without indoor plumbing , that 6 billion would have went along ways towards help his own countrymen to climb out of their shit holes.

“Russia hopes to stabilise the situation on the front in Ukraine in winter in order to resume offensive actions in spring. The Kremlin expects that the Russian army will suffer an irreversible loss of up to 100,000 conscripts.” Source: Vazhnye Istorii (Important Stories), an independent Russian investigative reporting media outlet, with reference to two sources: one close to Russia’s Federal Security Service and another, to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation
Details: Vazhnye Istorii reported that according to its sources, Russian leaders recognise that a new wave of hostilities in the spring will bring about significant losses. "Up to 100,000 soldiers might be killed or injured by next spring. But no one is worried about this: they will be replaced by conscripts," a source close to Russia’s Federal Security Service told Vazhnye Istorii.
source close to the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces shared a similar prediction, saying that the Kremlin expects that Russia’s losses in Ukraine would amount to around 100,000, the majority of whom are conscripts. The source told Vazhnye Istorii that Russia’s Ministry of Defence is planning to train 120,000 conscripts who will be deployed in Ukraine to replenish Russia’s losses. The source explained that that was the reason why Putin has not yet annulled the decree on partial mobilisation.

Russia says there are "claims.... possible... attempts... etc" with vague references to something more sinister like biowarfare labs. But after invading Ukraine with 150,000 troops and holding 25% of the country, there has still never been a photo of a secret US biowarefare lab. Or a single blown up HiMars. LOL. So someone is obviously lying and spreading disinformation to rubes around the world.
Why would the US need biowarfare labs in Ukraine when we have plenty of them here? It's not like microscopic pathogens would be hard to transport.
And if Ukraine actually had any biowarfare capabilities you'd think they would have broken it out by now to fight back as Putin destroys cities and massacres civilians. But nothing....
The SAME people that said 150,000 troops were just doing war games on the border and had no plans to invade, who said they would defeat Ukraine in a few days, who never showed any proof of bio'weapons' labs or destroyed HiMars platforms.

He's just a Putin shill and his purpose here is to try and slowly chip away at the idea that support of every kind for Ukraine is the right, moral and humanitarian thing to do. Not to mention the best money the U.S. Military has ever spent dollar for dollar in helping to destroy the Russian military apparatus and put Vlad Putin on increasingly shaky ground in terms of his grip on power over the Russian state. NATO, the EU, and the U.S. Military alliance with western Europe have all been strengthened multiple times over since February, while Putin's military is in a complete shambles and all of Russia's neighbors are no longer afraid of Russian military might as they were prior to the invasion. The situation for Russia's military will continue to get worse and worse and worse as the war drags on, that's why Putin keeps making overtures for "peace" recently, which of course are completely false and are just attempts to have time to let his army re-group and try to figure out how to re-arm. Russia started the war with a vast stockpile of armaments, but they are dwindling quickly, and with the sanctions imposed on them by the U.S. and the EU, they cannot replace their supply of weapons. Do you think they'd have been trotting out stockpiles of tanks from the 50's & 60's for several months now if they could?
This war is not over, and it may not be for months now, but the fact is that despite the acts of terrorism that the Russian military is visiting on the Ukraine civilian populace and civilian infrastructure, Ukraine is winning this war, and it's not close. If the U.S. wasn't making Ukraine pledge not to strike at military-related targets deep inside of Russia with missiles supplied by the U.S., the war would already be over. This next couple months is going to be interesting. It's already getting cold and snowy in southern Ukraine and the Russian army is very poorly supplied with winter gear by all accounts. They have been digging a long series of defensive trenches east of the current line of engagement, but it is all but certain that thousands if not tens of thousands of Russian soldiers are going to die of hypothermia. Ukraine on the other hand is very well supplied with winter gear. Russian invaders in Ukraine are in for a world of cold and hurt over the next several months.
What a fine example of how media and propaganda can brainwash a person. But then again I guess it’s not hard when they want to believe it. Wow. Ok back to the regular programming… hunting!

We know what kind of fool bombs civilian apartment buildings, hospitals, schools, theaters, shopping centers , the same fool that can’t conduct a successful military campaign. Yes the planets biggest FOOL: Vladimir Putin
He cares not of the $900,000 prize money which he would gladly donate to the poor children of the oligarchs who’s lifestyle has been severely affected by western sanctions.
No peace loving Vlad would so love to have some recognition in keeping the peace in the 126 different ethnic regions that make up Russia. How twice he kept Chechnya from falling into chaos, how he separated 2 regions from the province of Georgia into 3 peace loving neighbors, how he brought peace and stability to Syria. And now his endeavors to unify all russian speaking people into one peaceful country starting with Ukraine .
And to add salt to being snub once again for the Nobel Peace Award, they choose a trifecta of agitators from Ukraine, Belarus, and russia. Oh my god!!!
He asked the selection committee “ Who really is the passionate one, other than his Highness himself.” Signed
Vlad the Mad.
