That gas station is in Furnace Creek not Barstow. It is in Death Valley and has the highest fuel prices in the nation. Fuel prices are at record highs but furnace creek fuel is not a representation of national fuel prices.

Does it really matter if it is Barstow or Nome Alaska? I'm paying $5.50, and my grocery store discount credit card stops after 130.00 transaction limit so I can't even fill up the whole tank. Then throw on the record cost of DEF. Its a major issue, and democrats could give a $hit.
Every product in every store is delivered by diesel. I went in advanced auto parts to stock up on DEF a couple days ago, the guys there said they spent a whole day repricing every item in the store to a higher price.
We truly have morons in charge that someone voted for.
I paid 5.35 today for Diesel in NY, places close by were a dollor to a dollar 1.50 more. Anyone that thinks I got a d=good deal is an idiot.. Diesel for one should be cheaper than gas, always was til about 10 years ago. It also should be under 4 a galloon like 3.49 and gas 2.79. Still high but better!! Shawn

I stopped in Aurora CO for a 2.5gal jug of DEF fluid(mentioned above)... friggin $35 on top of the $5.69 Diesel. Said no way, and pushed it to Limon where it was only $33 FFS

$1151 for tires about 15 minutes ago. The same identical Cooper tires cost me $859 3 years ago. $80-$100 more dollars a tank, depending on the truck, to fill up versus 3 years ago. Food is climbing higher. Milk is $4 a gallon. Baby formulas is getting impossible to find. Metal roofing is up a $1.35 more per linear foot. Gutter coil has doubled. Lumber is not getting cheaper and in these parts, only 15% cheaper then it’s all time record highs.

Policy changes allowing it to happen is how it was done. No one can deny that. People have never gone to the polls. They stay at home, work, do something besides vote. History tells us that. So, how does a man with the lowest rating of any president, beat the most popular president in the last century? Why did we get policy changes allowing those lazy people to vote?
Why, when there are piles of evidence to show those votes were manipulated, can we not get a state court to hear the cases proving that? How is that? Could it be coincidence? Only if you are brain dead.
We could go on and question how could any president, willingly agree to leave enough firepower and people behind , after a long war, to ensure those weapons are used by the enemy we were fighting in that war? How does that happen? No one is that flippin’ dumb. No one. Even a kid picks up his favorite toy to keep his brother from using it. Are we to believe that we left billions of dollars worth of fire power for our enemies by mistake? To quote the puppet, “Come on man.”.
These things are not coincidences, accidents, mistakes, etc…. These are purposeful actions. Carried out by a career failed puppet. Put into place to do so. The actions of a traitor. We have proof of that too!!!!!!

I bought DEF for 3.69 a gallon at a QT in SC over the weekend. Right beside the diesel pump at a truck stop. Bulk DEF Is the ONLY way i will buy DEF from here on out. I didnt even realize it was dispensed same as fuel. No way i will buy it from a jug again.

KHNC, I see the DEF at the pumps all the time...but we had to have two of our DEF exhaust systems replaced, on a couple of trucks, when using at the pumps($8k +/-). So I'll keep using the jugs, and Walmart or Atwoods has it for $15 or less.
Looks like Saudi Arabia is going to up production. TBD what effect this will have on prices for the next month or so.

National average cost of diesel is $5.55 (which is bad enough) so he was only off +4 dollars/gallon but who’s counting. I mean $9.99 in Death Valley is a great representation of national gas prices. Versus the $5.39 average in TN where Shawn/Dano lives.

On 5/31 regular unleaded was $4.51 here in Michigan. Today 6/2 it sits at $4.99

When I bought my Duramax, diesel was $2 a gallon. Last week it was $6.0599 per gallon. I am retired so I keep my trips short now. Eating a lot of deer meat and fish that i caught and froze. My daughter will supply me with stripers and Tuna from time to time.

In November of 2020 I bought diesel in Mississippi for $1.98. The last tank I bought was in Kentucky a couple of weeks ago, it was $5.38. I am retired also. I don't drive more than necessary. My 3 buds and I put in for draw tags in Colorado, we have decided if we do draw to turn them back in. Every one is busy and the cost of fuel has thrown cold water on the trip. I agree with some others, all this can't be an accident.
to voters there is no difference in $6.50 diesel and $10.00 diesel. the election outcome has already been decided.

5.99 for diesel in southwest Colorado regular gas went from 4.47 to 4.59 this week
Station near my office just went to $4.99 for low grade gas and 5.99 for diesel.

Of course gas prices are different around the world and that difference from region to region is owed largely to taxes.
With that said, the swings you are seeing in prices for gasoline, diesel, distillates, etc has nothing to do with a change in taxes. Prices are moving primarily because of the change in crude oil price. This has nothing to do with changes in taxes.
And it’s clear you really don’t know what you’re talking about. Taxes on gasoline (if that’s what you’re even referencing by “basic principles”) as well as pricing for any refined products are quite literally meaningless and irrelevant to anything happening in the oil fields. All that matters is the price of oil and the tax/royalty structure on any crude oil produced.
But you got it right when you said oil is a global commodity and priced (more or less) the same globally, highlighting the fact that it’s not a uniquely American issue.

But put the democrats in charge and suddenly prices double, supplies drop, and we’re encouraged to embrace electric cars and windmills to make it affordable again. Before you answer, remember that the pipeline wasn't scheduled to be in operation until next year, the oil that it would be moving is currently coming to market via trucks and trains, and that the pipeline would add essentially zero new crude oil supply to the global oil market?

I don't trade future contracts. Have you actually looked at what both spot and futures prices did in the immediate timeframe after Biden cancelled Keystone XL? I encourage you to take a look at those prices the week following Biden's actions.
Supply and demand are the dominant factors upon which prices are based. And they're the predominant factor speculators assess to make their judgement calls. There's a reason prices didn't immediately jump up when Biden signed his EO on the Keystone XL. It's because speculators know it didn't mean diddly squat with respect to supply or demand.

There is and always have been a permitting process for impacts to Waters of the U.S. (WOUS). Biden signed an EO a year ago reversing the Trump administration’s direction on the definition of a WOUS. He put it back to the way it was. Regardless, industry ignored Trumps EO and used the previous definition of WOUS because they knew it would be reversed by EO or the courts.

This is an interesting article I came across this past week.
FWIW.....one of my nephews has been a OTR truck driver for a very long time. I just spoke to him as he was driving thru Nashville with a load about 30 minutes ago. He was saying (warning??) there is some talk on the trucker sites of doing a slow down or shut down sometime in July to protest the high prices (think of the recent one in Canada). He has heard of some truckers who are cutting cost corners with insurance and authority and driving anyway. He said fuel costs are killing him right now and he is barely making enough money to keep driving.
He told me it may not be a bad idea to to check your stocking levels of food and other things like that just in case this trucker site talk turns into something. I don't know how reliable or widespread the shut-down chat on the trucker sites is so take it for what it's worth. This is the first I have heard of it but it would not surprise me if it happens...especially in light of what happened in Canada over the border closures.

In two weeks we are headed for our place in Newfy after a 2 year hiatus. With gas in Port Saunders at $6.56 per gallon in US funds, once we get there, I will be hoofing it to reach fishing spots. We are bringing a lot of non-perishables and eating fish.
