'morning All,

The Bow elk tags go on sale in the morning/12th 0800 on-line or at local vendors and DWR Offices.

Great way to bow hunt the LE unit you are interested in drawing with a Spike/cow option ** Some LE units don't offer the Spike/cow option though**

Getting to know the unit and having some experience in the unit.

Currently you can move from LE unit to another LE unit with the same bow Spike/cow elk tag and maybe get a look see at another unit.

The Any Bull units are later in date to the ending of the bow hunting date.

Good luck, Robb

Excellent advice Rob. At Robs direction I did this in 2014, shot a spike, learned the Unit and returned in 2018 with my LE Elk tag. Many people don’t know you can hunt this tag EVERY year in Utah.

Are they unlimited in number and available til when? It's been a few years since I hunted this tag. Thanks Robb for everything UTAH!

What are the dates of this hunt. Same as the units archery season?

You are Welcome.

The Spike/cow in the LE units end Sept. 9th

The Any Bull units end September 21st

Yes, they are Unlimited

Yes, you take the Extended Area Ethics Course and bow hunt into December in those Extended area's.

Be Very careful if ya go for 1 of the Leftover General Buck Deer tags as they now take your General Deer points if you get a Leftover General Buck deer tag.

I'm helping a guy that his daughter drew the Youth Rifle Any Bull tag, and it starts on the 17th of September so I can pitch in and help them and still bow hunt some pretty decent bow elk dates until the 21st on my FAV Any Bull Unit.

I do the Multi Season Any Bull unit tag now ($150--ressy) So I'm not too worried about arrowing a bull if I can get her into a bull instead.

I did a thread about Any Bull unit and see my link to view/read----------> The tags are $593 now though.

Good luck, Robb

For those of you that have gotten your elk tag or are still on the fence about getting it before August 20th Opener, it might not hurt to get a Cougar tag too.

See my link above, page 18 into 19 explains the Spot-n-Stalk tag.

$30 for Ressy's AND Non-Ressy's....for real.

Valid July 1st, 2022, thru June 3ith 2023.

Depending on where I'm out scouting/hiking before the bow elk dates opener, I'm strapped/10mm and Cougar tag in pocket.

For $30 bucks, why not?

Good luck, Robb

I've helped out on getting a few real nice Rams (Rocky) out of this Sheep Creek Bay area/north side.

I spent last week up on my Any Bull OTC unit above Flaming Gorge/Manilla, Utah.

I'll share a few pix of my trip.

To answer a question about the Archery elk tags; Yes, you can hunt the Any Bull/cow units or the Spike/cow only units with the same tag.

Good luck, Robb

I tried to use what GG/Matt suggested on Panoramic mode that he posted with the girl in the fish pic on another thread, on my phone but I could get it to rotate to a selfie?

Later on, I thought maybe he said Portrait mode?

Thank You and You are Welcome

I saw elk , moose, bighorn sheep and a few muleys.

It's so close to the season opener, I prolly won't post any pix but I did share some with the guy and his wife from Vermont coming out and with a guy and his daughter. On the Youth Rifle tag.

Enjoy,

Robb

August 20th can't get here fast enough this year!

I'm happy there is plenty of water sources around and plenty of lush eats for the wildlife.

Any of you guys & gals still trying to decide on Colo OTC or maybe Utah OTC, feel welcome to reach out to me for any private intel or suggestions.

Good luck, Robb
