I thought I remembered all the goofy products that have come along. Saw these in an old magazine. Always interesting what someone will come up with.

I remember them from adds in magazines. Never knew anybody that ever bought any. Another gimmick that was never needed for bowhunting.

Plus, they'll keep your string from getting pregnant.

In 44 years ofbowhunting, never heard of them. Wrong camo pattern anyway??

Interesting the ad makes the nocks look like they are glowing or lit. This was a few years before lighted nocks even!

Those old 2117 aluminum logs for arrows needed all the help they could get

04-Aug-22
Can’t imagine why they’re not still available?

Cnelk,

I used to put those “log” 2117’s inside of my 2419’s!!

My sons and I bent many a 2117 Gamegetter. Still have a couple dozen Gamegetter 2117's packed away with some XX75's. Might sell a few of the 2117's at the right price. Most are fairly straight after a little work. ( only joshing about the sale as today's carbon arrows are so much superior imo) Back in the old days, for me they were an improvement over the cedar shafts that I had been using to make up my arrows. I do remember some of the rests shown as I think that I tried most of them. Can't say I remember the nock thing.

If only I had a nickel for every animal that has been spooked by my nocks!!!

Dana, I was referring to the world-renowned, can’t do without, Nok-Soks.

I should learn how to knit. Might make a fortune!

I'll have to come up with a new name. Maybe "Nockoozies" or "Prophylacnocks"?

Better check with the patent office first.

I'd only use them if they came with Scent-Lok! I mean, if you're going to p*** away money then you may as well go full bore!

Nick…..if you go with “Prophylacnocks”, you might consider calling Vandelay Industries as your importer/exporters…..Ask for George.

If nicks give us away then what about the 3 vanes lol.

From: Grey Ghost

LOL. I bet the guys who came up with this idea didn't even pay for that ad with proceeds from their sales.

Years ago, my cousin and I dreamed of inventing a hunting product that would make us rich. We actually discussed the concept of a camera that would be triggered by a motion sensor long before game cameras ever hit the market. Woulda, shoulda, coulda.....

Yes I do, Dana. Ultimately my cuz and I decided that inventing a game camera was beyond our technical abilities. When we saw how incredibly basic the first models were, we kicked ourselves for not exploring the idea further.

We had other ideas, too. I always thought a colapsable bugle tube that you could easily stuff in your day pack made a lot of sense. That was back in the days when guys were using sections of vacuum hoses for bugle tubes. Ultimately, somebody did come out with a collapsable version, but it never seemed to catch on like I thought it would.

One of our dumber ideas was stalking shoes that had hooves on the bottom, so they would simulate the sound of a deer walking thru the woods. Another was hunting clothing that had a mirror finish on the exterior so that the hunter would be practically invisible, if he wasn't moving. Haha.

Can’t you pretty much say that regardless of what you’re wearing?? ;)

What I probably need is a suit that will virtually immobilize me right up ‘til it’s time to draw…..

Most smart people know today outside of food fuel and utilities 75-80% of everything else that gets bought in America are items of PURE WANT and absolutely did not need said item. America is overwhelmed with people who: Take money they don't have To buy items they don't need To impress people they don't like.

^^^ Great observation DMT!

Never heard of the nock covers. I’ve got some gamegetters in the quiver of the first PSE compound I bought back in 1988. That was the first and only brand new bow I’ve ever bought.

Dana, I still have one of the little string-triggered trail timers. They actually did work, but you never knew what triggered it.

I recall seeing my brother using some homemade versions on his arrows back in the 80's or early 90's.
