So… I design new stuff here and there but this has been around for a while. Is my back country knife and has a 3” cutting edge with an overall of 8”. My goal was enough knife to take an entire elk apart with ease but have enough control to be safe in the field. These are CPM20cv blade steel at 62.5 Rockwell

That looks like a very nice blade. Im partial to the orange one sincd i have a bad habit of setting a knife down and wondering where i left it.

Beautiful. I prefer no choil but those both look fantastic for the purpose.

Very nice, orange for the backpack and black for another blade in the truck or side by side tool box. I will be looking into them, thanks for sharing, J

I think its fantastic fir a bare hander.

I wear gloves and some of the knives with nubs snag. I’m going to put scales on my bench made altitude for that reason.

Yes Glunt. I understand. I do not add a choil on my capers as is a smaller blade and you might use the entire thing.

Love the orange one! That means I don't have to tie a piece of orange flagging tape to my hunting knives!

Very nice. What's the blade length on that one?

I’m out back hunting Dana, I think It’s 4.25” Measuring it will give me an excuse to head up to the house,

because it’s 18° with a 17 mph wind.

Holding a Longbow during gun season in this wind and not seeing anything

I’m thinking it’s as good excuse as any to head to the house :>)))) Maybe another hour

Thanks gents. Before I started making knives I looked all over for what I wanted in a knife yet could not find. Then after complaining about my current knives I had purchased and their performance my wife said “quit complaining and go make your own”. That was four years ago this Christmas. Been a fun journey and I am truly blessed.

That last one looks good Rob.

I was grabbing a burner and big pot to boil a skull from Dennis yesterday, and he showed me the knife you made him.

He had me wanting to upgrade from my havalon:)

Rob, you do some beautiful work!!

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but what's the purpose of the paracord on the sheaths?

Matt

Grey Ghost you telling me you've never been short a small string to attach a tag to an animal? lol that's the first place my mind goes on a use for that! lol

From: RJ Hunt
22-Nov-22
Grey Ghost,

The theory behind that is you can hang the sheath on a branch above you or off to the side (very common in my western Oregon up bringing as you are often in a canopy of woods when dressing game) so you are not setting it on the ground. I do not do belt loops on my compact knives as they just add bulk and most guys I know keep the knife in the kill kit. I can however add any style of clip or loop to any sheath upon request.

Thank you bowbender

Received my knife today Mr Hunt. Excellent! It's a gift for the guy who skins for my Taxidermy business. I let him open the box it came in, He loves it. Gonna use it to butcher a deer soon. Thank you very much. Jim
