Some pictures from about a week ago. Usually, I don't post many pictures of the same deer but going to with a few today. This guy was getting it on with a doe. He was actually fighting with a buck just before, but I didn't get it filmed.
Are the deer wild? They are at the Rocky Mountain Wildlife Refuge. They are wildish the place is I think 15,000 acres, there is no hunting. It is fenced but does not keep all the deer in or out. There were some elk on refuge for a bit this summer then they were gone. So it possible for them to come and go. The deer mostly don't worry about people so long as you keep a some distance between you and them. There are also bison. It is a neat place near Denver, actually very close to the airport. If you ever go I recommend at sunrise but the afternoon can be ok as well.
Wilderness not sure about the hybrids. I see some deer that antlers look a little whitetailish on mule deer body and visa versa but you see that sometimes when none of the other species are in the area.
Here a buck a few days ago in OK I passed with bow in hand. Almost shot but was down there for a quick trip and really didn't want to deal with butchering one and getting back to CO. That about 20 seconds of 5 minutes he was in bow range on film.
