Taking bets on who will kill Jamie? Is it Beth, Rip, Kayce, John or will the hippie chick step up and earn the brand?

Yawn...time to end this series. Was a great one but I lost interest this season.

...and I think Jamie ends up having Beth killed, then Rip kills Jamie, and a wolf eats the ARA hippie chick.

Great season again. Can’t wait to see what happens.

I’m still hooked on Yellowstone too. Taylor Sheridan has got to be one of the best TV writer/creators of all time.

Can't watch Tulsa King. Stallone was mildly nauseating when he was young. Now I puke at th sight of him.

Yellowstone is ok in spite of Costner, not because of him. 1883 was horrible. 1923 is ok so far if you turn away when Harrison Ford is on screen.

Well they aren't as bad as the bowhunting shows out there.

From: SteveB
03-Jan-23
Jamie isn't dying anytime soon. Neither is Beth. My guess is that Beth has Jamie's business mastermind lady killed instead keeping the train station alive. The writers used to make us feel bad for Jamie....not any longer. They want us to dislike him now. He's needed in the plot. His influencer is disposable.

Jamie tossed his fathers body off the cliff right where the Yellowstone guys disposed of everyone they nocked off so Jamie’s got that in his pocket. But I agree the show has definately slowed down so I can see how some people are losing interest.

Jamie is weak; I say he takes himself out before anyone else does.

The show hasn’t really lost any main characters yet so I think with season 6 approaching at least one will die soon and they can’t afford to lose Beth.

Tulsa king is on the list for sure. Looks good. Always liked Stallone.

I agree with SteveB....her character was killed quickly in 1883 as well.

I also agree with Pat, Taylor Sheridon is a helluva writer with a very creative mind. Multiple great shows and movies!

Should be fun to see Rip's adventures in TX.....

Now I can't wait to see what happens when they turn the WW1 veteran/African Hunter Dutton loose on the sheep herders in 1923.....

Tulsa King is a fun watch, but for those of us that live in Tulsa, it's weird as most of it is shot in Oklahoma City. Tulsa has plenty of locations to shoot, don't know why they do it down there. :)

Welp....back in August I cut the cable. Kept the hi-speed internet for work. I have Netflix and Prime and I am good with that. I had previously watched all four seasons of Yellowstone and they currently stream on Peacock. Figured season five would be on...no no plans for it. Decided to get Paramount+ for $25/year. I'm like a giddy lil kid as I turn on the TV.....only to find out Yellowstone is not on Paramount+. FML...

Said in the last thread - "Either Beth is going to kill Jamie or Jamie going to kill Beth before this thing is over..."

I liked both Tulsa King and 1883, the first 2 episodes until they put it on streaming... Can only stream 1 TV and never use it... Now I liked the first 2 episodes of 1923 but suppose they're gonna stream it too... Urrrrr... Really liked the African scenes in 1923...

I agree with choosing Harrison Ford as a grizzled old rancher being a mistake. Even with that. I really enjoy the 1923 episodes so far. I could not suspend reality when watching Tim McGraw in 1883 so stopped watching it. I just hope Harrison isn’t in too many more episodes of 1923. Helen Miran is more believable as a tough rancher

08-Jan-23
Yeah, I like Harrison Ford too, especially old and grizzled... And I like Helen Miran in 1923... Don't know who that Jacob Dutton is in the African scenes but I like him (so far)....

From: TD
09-Jan-23
Folks do know this is entertainment? Good grief....

I knew they couldn't kill Ford so early with the investment they likely had in him..... Miran really does remind me of those old warhorses that came from those times..... my Grandmother was born in 1898, would have been one of those young ladies in the show. Very much the same stock. Have family pics of old cowboys and such from those times, hoglegs hanging from old leather belts.... Pretty cool.

Now gotta wait till feb to see the Wrath of Spencer....

Hmmm, yeah maybe...

Seen where Costner won a Golden Globe being Dutton... He didn't show to pick it up though...8^) Surprised Beth wasn't even nominated... Everybody luvs Beth, my lady thinks she's the coolest character on earth... Seen her in an interview and surprisingly she acted a little meek or shy with a heavy British accent, total opposite of her character...

11-Jan-23
Catscratch, I try to suspend reality long enough to enjoy 1883 and 1923 but as with Tim McGraws very vocal anti gun rhetoric so does Mr Ford wish we were not allowed to have so many guns.

While Ford has starred in many movies, playing a gun wielding macho man. he said he abhors America's liberal gun laws. "I'm very troubled by the proliferation of arms, at the fact so many people in the United States carry guns," he said, according to the AAP. "It obviously contributes greatly to the crime problems we have. I'm sure gun laws should be strengthened in the United States. I just don't know the correct mechanism."

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=34310

Another actor that makes a living using guns does not see why we the peasants need protection. Sorry Harrison. I can not afford around the clock protection.

So another actor playing the type of people that built this country. Then denouncing the traits that allowed that.

100 years ago he would have been living in the city. Not scratching a ranch out of the land.

For that reason I couldn’t watch the hypocrite Tim McGraw play a tough guy carving out an existence using a weapon. And I can’t watch Mr. Ford fake it either.

I wish I could. For some reason I can with other liberal actors. But with some, the entire show I don’t see them as the character. But themselves.

From: DanaC

Brotsky, I believe they moved the cattle south away from the bison the neighbor was running, to avoid brucellosis. (And yeah, it would be nice if we all could set the weather where we like it ;-) )

From: Catscratch
11-Jan-23
Thanks for the replies on the actors guys. I figured they were anti-something important to me. It seems to be part of the acting culture to be against stuff like fur, guns, hunting, etc... basically against everything in my culture. That's the impression I've gotten most every time I've dug into that stuff anyway. Always amazed me that someone who feels passionate about gun control would make a living glorifying guns to the masses. Money over character.

I can't unsee Ford as Solo either.

They moved half the herd because they couldn't put them on the infected pasture for the winter, any of them test positive and the whole herd is put down (a lot like Cuomo, covid, and nursing homes). Can't sell them because they need next year's calves to continue the business. Can't afford to feed them because of biden. Will go broke anyway because pasture lease is so high. Just like real ranching to be honest with ya! Beth will save the day by building a processing plant to sell their beef for what it's actually worth. The plant will get screwed because someone that wants their land with deep pockets will get a dirty politician to screw the plant with health code regulations. They will have to take someone to the Train Station because of it.

Sneaking suspicion that Costner is the one to die this season. Rumors he is tired of the role.

02-Mar-23
I have a question, I just started watching Yellowstone a while ago and I'm on season 3. Several episodes ago the Beck brothers kidnapped Kayce's son Tate and the Duttons planted a bomb in a wing tank of Beck's plane. Later they caught up with the Becks and got Tate back. Does anybody ever fly that plane and does it blow up? The bomb they planted in that plane seems like a loose end that hasn't been revisited.

02-Mar-23
Mike: I’ve watched all seasons at least 3 times and I can’t recall the answer to your question. My quasi recollection is the plane went down. Glad you’re enjoying the series. It’s true entertainment for me when I’m not getting ready or actually bow hunting. Enjoy every day. Ha!

Yeah, I remember wondering what happened to the bomb in the plane. They have so many plots in the fire.... guess they burn one now and then and have to toss it away.....

02-Mar-23

Always just figured I missed the part that explained what happened to the bomb. Maybe it pops back up in the next season? Would it be fitting that one of the Duttons die on the plane long after it was forgotten about?

Here you go Zbone.

Being a pilot I took some interest in it. I just noticed something watching the clip. When they drop the bomb in the fuel tank, the placard says jet fuel only. If it burns jet fuel the engines would be turbine engines. A turboprop twin would be a very expensive plane to blow up anywhere from $200k to several million $

After the Beck Bros got shot they didn't need to trigger the bomb. Or maybe it went off when the plane was parked. Or maybe it's still there.

Gotta admit, Taylor Sheridan is juggling a mess of sub-plots here.

03-Mar-23
Kayce shot one brother on the toilet but John let the other brother live. I figured the bomb had an altitude trigger because if it went off on the ground it might not kill anybody and their goal was to kill the Becks. I remember when they were discussing planting the bomb they said there was no undoing it.

From: Catscratch

Have we as a community forgotten a little bit about responsibility? Possibly. But in my household, no. All of my children know how to shoot and handle firearms safely. Aside from the Kevin Costner issues, Paramount has wanted an excuse to end Yellowstone and rebrand it as a different show, because they don't have the streaming rights for Yellowstone and they want to move it to Paramount +. By creating a new show, even with mostly the same plot and cast, they can re-title it and legally put it on their own network. Kevin Costner just provided the perfect opportunity. Since that is their plan, it seems unlikely that they would do anything drastic to most of the key characters like Beth. They'll need them to be on the new show.
