I had a pretty eventful 2022 with family and friends. Beavs thread is a tough act to follow , but I'm going to give it a shot. Several of these pics have been on bs already , but quite a few will be making their debut.
2022 started with using my last doe tag of 21/22
Next stop was our 12th annual family and friend winter hog hunt. There were a bunch of pigs killed, but for some I'm short on pics of that trip. Multiple weapon types were used on this trip...
3 generations with Cody's pigs
Walker enjoying the winter weather of PA
Kurt's plaque has a higher number on it than mine.
Picked up my shiras from the beetle guy.

In March I had an incredible trip to the Arctic.
Link to the bs thread here.
We picked up Cody's 2021 AZ elk from the beetle guy.
Our PA bobcats came home from the taxidermist in April
After a winter boat project we got out for the first trip of the spring. We ended up doing alot of bowfishing in 2022
Now we are talking! I know there are some good pics coming!

In June we headed to Alberta for a bear hunt that was supposed to happen in 2020
We saw alot of bears through the week.
On the third night Cody made a great shot on an incredible bear. The pictures don't do this bear justice, the bear is bigger than the pics look. Official PnY is 19" along with the great color
There were a few bugs. I saw over 30 bears, but didn't end up shooting one. It was a great trip.
July we went to Chesapeake Bay stingray hunting.
A couple weeks later we went to TX for more bowfishing.
Gar the other other white meat
I’m still disappointed I wasn’t able to make good on the offer for the sting rays! Looks like lots of fun.

In August I headed to South Africa for a great trip with Ken Moody. You can see the bush blind that was built at the water hole. I had a bunch of days in trying to get an arrow in a cape buffalo. A short time into our first sit in this blind it finally happened.
The thing on wheels is a baboon trap built on an old wagon frame.
Can see the arrow impact here
I ended the trip with a great, old eland
Are Stingray good eating? Nice pics, thanks for sharing. That Gar looks tasty! scentman
Yes, the stingray are good. The meat is sometimes used as substitute for scallops.
We did a bunch more late summer bowfishing around home.
The carp were very bright colors by late August
Slow day, but a good time 3 generation trip
Spent a morning helping my dad set up his new convertible top tripod.
Another mirror carp

Cody and his friends had some good night time action through September.
Can't beat the pack out

In early October I drove to Newfoundland for another hunt that was supposed to happen in 2020.
Walker returning home, still slightly drugged up after his "procedure"
PA deer season ended up being slow for me, I did manage to get this coyote.
I had a very special tag that started Oct 29. Along with an even more "special" helper...shout out to Jim for volunteering his time and travel to help out. Jim is probably the best 1 hour sheep guide in the business.
Cody connected on a good buck for our area with a small third antler and a big doe.
What a busy and successful year so far!
Congrats man,
Robb

Hey Gene, you need to get a hobby! :) WOW! Nicely done. My best, Paul
Is that, by chance, a leopard hound Gene? Great year by the way!!
Your times with your son are the best. Many more. C

Over Christmas break Cody and a friend planned a trip to Florida. A couple 18 year old boys first adventure, kinda on their own. I was able to help with driving duties to get them there with work related transportation back home. They were there for 4 days with our boat on their own. I flew back down on New Years eve to help with the return drive. But since I was there with a bit of time we spent New Years eve night In the Everglades.

Out of time in 2022, the rest of the pics are how we spent New Years eve. Thanks for looking and happy 2023.
Well I hope you get out a little more in 2023. Looks pretty boring in 2022…
Congrats on a lot of fun brother!

Incredible year for you, family and friends.!! You'll have to change your handle from huntinelk to killingeverything.
I can pick out the pics that Jim was coaching Cody how to pose.
You should get serious about hunting in 2023

Congrats on another hell of a year Gene, it sounds like 2023 is going to get started here very quickly! Thanks again for all help and advice you have given me on my hunts as well!
Stacked all of that into 12 months? Very impressive! Congrats!!!
Enjoy the re-caps you and Beav posted. Thanks for sharing, even if it makes me feel like a "shut-in"!
Now that is an impressive year! Congrats to all of you and thanks for sharing!
WOW!! Nothing is safe from you guys! Way to go and thanks for sharing!
What a wide variety of hunts. Looks like a great year with a ton of time with your son. Can't beat that. He definitely changed his looks mid summer. Must have gotten really hot and decided to chop the hair off.
Heck of a year! Thanks for sharing!
Meant to ask on your boat project thread, what are those things you added to the back of the transom? Are those just for extra stability?
Amazing year! Congrats to all y'all!
They are float pods, they increase the floatation of the boat. Either to make it sit higher in the water or carry more weight.
I figured they were just extra storage for the bodies of the guys that didn’t wipe their feet, before getting in the boat, Gene.
Congrats on yet another great year!
Unbelievable year Gene, great recap. I don’t know how you got any work done!
Pretty spectacular year! I hope 2023 treats you well. Ron
Just wanted to add this live pic of Cody's bear. As I said above the trophy pics don't do the bear justice.
Thanks again for the comments.
Absolutely awesome Year! Congratulations!
