I guess I have a different viewpoint. Gotta kill that beaver for killing that awesome tree. How old is that tree? All to feed a stupid beaver. . . .

Give him time, Bake - if the beaver ever succeeds in downing that tree, the tree may just have the last word….

Rumor has it, Bou’s beaver was so distraught after failing to drop that tree, he went home and committed suicide….

My wife enjoyed watchinga couple young beavers swimming in the Rum (small river bordering my back yard) until one morning she discovered the clump of Birch trees she liked laying down..All 3 trunks down and grounded.

How do you eat an elephant (or in this case a massive tree)?
One bite at a time.
Cool pics guys, thanks for sharing them.

Ran into this on a recent hike. I have much respect for them, but damn they seem to always go too far with their projects. Great for habitat on one hand and destructive on the other. The town is always breaking them up. I've tried to win on some of my projects at work where killing wasn't an option and they've run circles around me every time. I have compromised on one project and it seems to have worked....for now at least.

How about this one. The beaver made his way 7/8ths thru. Found it and used it on a black bear mount!

It is estimated that there were between 200 to 400 million beavers in North America in the 1600s. I bet if we let beavers do their thing, we would have a more healthy ecosystem, more biodiversity, better water quality, and more water in our aquifers. Just consider this one thing - trout and beaver evolved together and not long after we got here, we killed a ton of beavers for hats and had to start stocking trout. Which species is the stupid one?

Pretty sure everyone here appreciates beaver, maybe just shave them and release back into the wild
