Bowhunters of Wyoming announced the Bowhunter/Sportsperson of the year, Randy Giesey. Five longtime hunting buddies of his wrote some damn good letters on his behalf and three were able to be there tonight to watch it go down.

Huge congratulations! Randy had moved away from Michigan before I joined our local archery club. I’ve heard so many stories from our departed mutual friend Ron Pittsley and seen so many pictures on the wall of our indoor range of young Randy with giant animals and his Predator recurve it makes me feel a small connection. I will let all the old timers at Land O Lakes know and I’m sure they will not be surprised.

Hey guys! Thank for the comments. Also thanks Mike for not Christmas chiming in on how hard you protested so I wouldn’t get that award because of all the whitetails lol?
Anyway I’m sitting in the the recovery room at south bend orthopedics with a new knee. Think it went great and wanted to share while under the influence. Feel like I could elk hunt right now but know tough times are ahead. This is my only social media connection so oddly I felt the urge. Thanks guys !

Randy is about as humble and unselfish as a hunter can be. Proud to have this man as a longtime friend and hunting buddy. Aside from his cooking skillls (or lack there of) you could not ask for a better guy in camp. I look forward to many more adventures ahead and maybe he can finally pack his fair share of a load with his new Bionic knee!! Congratulations Randy - Could not be more deserved!
