Good stuff, and well deserved.
Second Slam from PA this month, seems that PA could be a sleeper state for big time bow hunters!

In case some people reading this may not know what's being talked about.....I believe the congrats are going to bowsite member "Mad Trapper" who just completed his archery Super Slam of North American game by taking a bull caribou. Heck of an accomplishment, congrats!

Still trying to get back home. I have been at this for so long , many of my pictures have not been digitized. As to the toughest hunt, it was by far the mountain goat. In five hunts, I put arrows in four goats before I actually brought one home. I had to cancel one goat hunt because I was fighting Lyme disease and a neurosurgeon misdiagnosed me and I had surgery to fuse two discs in my neck. Took a couple of years to get the lyme beat down after that surgery .My fourth goat hunt was a backpack hunt with Jake. On the way in , I partially tore my achilles’ tendon. Jake had not yet completed the super slam and I couldn’t quit and mess up his hunt. Jake and the two guides humped my pack to the alpine then I took it from there. The next morning I watched Jake arrow a nice billy. The next day I put two arrows in a billy. We watched him lay down on a ledge over a steep canyon. We figured we could get him the next morning. If he launched off the ledge, we could not recover him. The next morning he was still alive and stood up and launched off the ledge as I hobbled into bow range. It was a blessing as I couldn’t have packed it off the mountain. I rebooked and killed a billy on the first day in the alpine on the next hunt.

I have had the pleasure of hunting with several bowhunters that have completed their NA29. I can say with certainty, that they have all possessed a well developed sense of tenacity. On the goat hunt previously mentioned, watching "Cupcake" drag his ass up those slippery slopes with a compromised achillies tendon further supports my previous observation. If I had a dollar for every phone call that I have had with Tom regarding one of his bowhunts, I could probably have paid for the bar tab at the last P&Y Meet and Greet. It has been an honor and a privilege to follow him on his exploits and "talk him down" when things weren't quite going according to the plan. Well done, Mr. Edgington.....well done.

Umiat, Alaska, closest real towns are Barrow and Deadhorse (Prudhoe Bay)...Randy Giesey, Ron Pittsley and I were up there about 34 years ago bowhunting caribou and moose. Chance meeting with Charlie R and Pat L. The Umiat camp was owned by OJ Smith in those days.
