I can’t tell those of you who haven’t gone.. to go.. this time of year gets crazy busy getting ready for other hunting, but not once have I ever not wanted to be there again.. something about Alaska.. once you do it, you gotta continue to do it.. (edited from first post that was confusing)

Being Dropped for 12 days 100 miles from the village is most of the experience.
But, killing a bull is the reason for living like a San Francisco homeless person for 2 weeks.

There’s nothing quite like the experience, that’s for sure.

great thread, love the photos. i have a few regrets, one is not hunting caribou and moose in alaska or the yukon. i became too focused on other things. hats off to you guys for doing it.

First time was in 75, went back and lived 79-81 ( had to relocate back to the 48) and went back in 95, legs couldn't do the tundra (4th knee surgeries and ended recently with the 9th), no country for an old man just glad I went we I was young.
Cost is crazy for a NR but memories is a lifetime, still think about the times there that money can't buy.
Enjoy the hunt and the experience.-JJ
