"Wintering is coming" most all bucks I've seen past couple days are now hard horned and today seen a doe already totally transformed from her summer red hide looking sleek, in her slick and shinny winter grey... They sure are pretty in September once they first shed that summer red...

In the UP, I still seeing a fair amount of deer, in red summer coats, while trout fishing. That shows me a long nice fall.
My wife though is a jam maker. Always picking berries in the woods. From her results, she calls for early winter.
Who knows, ha ha ha

Spots are fading fast around here... Was watching a mother and fawn yesterday evening and the only spots apparent was a few on the fawns lower ham... Notice I said "ham" and not hip, them little ones sure are tasty...8^)
Our bowseason still a couple weeks away, there goes my changes of crafting a spotted hide back quiver...8^)

Officially autumn now, "Winter Is Coming" while backyard white oak dropping acorns like rain right now, and bringing them now up to the house...
Sleek doe sure is pretty in grey coat... I think she's likely a yearling with her first fawn, and its kinda cool she identifiable with white booties, but her red coated skipper doesn't have them...

Zbone, she's a pretty doe for sure. Neat to see how the skip is still looking rusty red while she's set for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Yeah Will... Was just looking out the door window and another doe out there with her fawn and that skipper has shed it's red and looked like it's mother... Cool animals to watch for sure... Since I seeded winter rye in my little patch behind the yard in August, have been seeing them daily at all times of the day, they been eating the heck out of it... Interesting seeing them feed so much during midday, hadn't realized they are up and about so much during the day...
