Wanting to really improve my shooting this year. Haven't really worked on it in awhile. Saw this release and thought it seemed perfect for someone used to using a index. Anyone have any experience with it? Thanks in advance

It's a good release to learn how to pull through the shot and get a surprise release. It will help you be able to put the pin on the target and let it float while slowly pulling until it fires. It will also teach you to keep your front shoulder low, solid, and not to creep. You just have to make the commitment to stick with it.

Here's something I don't think is talked about enough when trying to learn proper back tension and a surprise release regardless of the style of release you're using. Your accuracy is likely to be worse when you start out, likely much worse and I think that's why a lot of guys give up on it. You have to give it plenty of time. Accuracy will come, don't worry about it. Just work on good form and making good shots with a clean break.

I'm far from a great shooter but I'm much better than I use to be. I don't deal with TP anymore (knock on wood) and I had it BAD.

Midwest...agree on the commitment as well as getting worse initially. I think that applies to most things we try to get better at. Thanks for the response.

Also the reason I don’t use it is my bow is 65% let off so the go off weight is just too high for me

I use one in the off season and during our weekly shoot at the club. It has helped me tremendously with target panick and had made me a better shot again. There is a bit if a learning curve and I agree with everything midwest said. I'll tell ya, when I execute a good shot, it finds the center more often than not. It's made shooting fun again.

Great post Midwest

These releases can be great, but you really have to be committed to lots of shooting. 20-30 arrows a day at 6-10 yards for a month or two, and you will be shooting really good.

re Midwest " Just work on good form and making good shots with a clean break. "

I find it helps if my first half dozen or so shots are 'blank bale', up close, forget aiming, just focused on form. Some days it may take me two or three flights to feel "grooved in".

Ever noticed that a good shot 'feels' good? Learn that feeling before working on accuracy.
