Want an election with fully verified voters using a ID card with pictures and a bar code that says yes I voted, other than the obvious that you are going to cheat.

So when I vote at the local firehouse......it sometimes gets confusing, I use a po box in one district & my physical address is in another.....my driver's license is checked, then verified that I'm in the correct district, then I'm ok'd to vote,, exactly how much more control do you expect, want, desire,

Would you prefer along with my drivers license, my birth certificate, ss security card & passport be mandatory as well.

Perhaps estimated cause & time of death should be included. This is in va on the coast....

Would you prefer along with my drivers license, my birth certificate, ss security card & passport be mandatory as well. No just a mandatory voter ID card with picture and a barcode so either side can't cheat.

What a bunch of racists. It's not fair to impose an ID to vote. It's just not fair. Besides it contributes to climate change.

I think you should show your hunting license too, along with as much identity verification you need.

I voted early in Minnesota at the County courthouse. I tried to show my ID & they refused to even look at it. Physically pushed my hand away when I tried to show it. Why you wouldn’t I can’t understand. Seems like only one side stands to benefit from unverified voting. “Underprivileged” people have no problem showing ID for welfare benefits. Not to vote???? You need ID for virtually everything you do as far as government or otherwise. It should be a universal Federal standard. Can’t vary from state to state.

20-Mar-24
Democrats and Rino’s aren’t interested in voter ID, just recently in Alaska they wanted to verify all the signatures on the petition to get rid of ranked choice voting. They don’t care to verify who votes though, hmm. In California the signatures on the petition for recall of governor “hairdo” were scrutinized for authenticity but then they don’t worry about the actual voters.

Many, many places want your ID to conduct your affairs, why not voting ? Timex?, your post is ridiculous. Nobody is asking you do jump through hoops, just show your ID so that you can be identified as a person who is legal to vote. That’s all. What’s wrong there ?

So in order to cheat you would need to falsify documentation to allow the vote to be counted. Why would it be more difficult to falsify this do all end all voter ID card with an embedded bar code then any other form of identification being used currently?

I have a voter registration card I carry with me every time I go to vote.

Let’s see you have to have an ID for anything nowadays. I do to even get in my work place. It’s okay to be held accountable. That’s the issue in America today no accountability for anything. That’s why idiots on TV can do anything they want during protest or to law enforcement. I want it my way. Me, Me, Me. I’m proud of my country and I’ll show my ID to anyone want’s to see it. Especially when I’m voting. I think everyone should. Biggest thing is beating the computers. That’s where they have conservative people over the barrel.

"I see no reason to require less to vote than to buy a gun."

Thats common sense. The wrong people in power have proven far more dangerous throughout history than citizens owning arms. I'm fine with a form 4473, background check paid for by the voter, ID, etc. and not just to register, every time you vote you repeat the process just like I had to several times this year to exercise my less dangerous right. If you want to vote in a big election, like Presidential, thats like getting a concealed carry. So, $130.00, a class, finger prints and a more thorough background check

The main reason that Democrats don't want voter IDs is because as you go lower in the poverty level, the less people have photo IDs. Especially old black people. They want those votes and so they feel that voter ID laws are just trying to take a slice out of the black vote. That's what it really comes down to and they opposed IDs before illegal immigration was as big of a thing as it is now.

Before you jump all over me like I'm playing Devil's Advocate or am about to cut my dick off, I'm not saying that voter IDs are or aren't a good thing and I definitely believe that we are better served by ensuring that a) only people who can legally vote, vote and b) that everyone only votes once.

I'm just explaining why Democrat anti-voter ID has been and is a thing. Because Bowsite has some very lunatic mouth-frothed conspiracy theorists who dwell in tiny echo chambers.

Last fall I renewed my drivers license and decided to go for the 'real ID' version. Had to provide extra documentation versus just renewing the 'standard' license. Not a big deal. This town sends me a card asking if I want a mail in ballot. Still had to return the card, and then the ballot. They know who I am because I pay local excise tax on vehicles every year. They update my voter registration automatically.

Should I be asked to show an ID when I show up to vote in person? Absolutely. Here in MA you can also get a non-drivers license ID issued from the state. Should be acceptable to vote, imo. But I don't believe 'voter' ID should be a separate ID from my drivers license or a 'state ID'.

And maybe we should consider national standards for issuing an ID. I have no idea what the requirements are in Oregon or Connecticut.

Drycreek........ My post is not ridiculous....... I've lived here for 23 years ...every time I vote the take my driver's license, look my name up on a computer print out to verify that I'm voting in the correct district ........seems pretty secure to me.....

The birth certificate, ss card & passport, was just a wise ass comment......

Perhaps other parts of the country are different,,,but they take voting seriously where I live,,,,,

I live in one district & have a po box in another district......depending on which address the computer chose dictates where I have to vote,, it's only a 5 mile drive between the two, so no big deal.....

Again I can only speak for where Iive ,,,, ,but using your ID to verify your address to confirm your voting in the correct district seems pretty damn secure to me.

Not against it... So long as things are worked out so folks that may not have a license or need for ID can easily get things set up so they can vote. That said, given voter fraud is less likely to influence an election than winning the lottery 2X this week - powerball and megamillions both - (roughly speaking), I'm not to worried about it.

That said, if we could re-pass the John Lewis Voter Rights Act, that would be cool. Given the complexities of modern life, managing security and improving access is a major positive.

Black people should be offended they are considered too stupid to get a Govt ID.I imagine ID is required for entitlements everywhere.Social services will pick you up and take you to get a free ID.Being poor shouldn't mean you are considered stupid.Democrats insult and belittle the very people they expect the vote from.

I see know issue with showing a valid ID to vote and the opposition tells you they know there is a lot of fraud that occurs on their side. There was a poll and 20% said they filled in the mail in ballots for someone in their family that they new wasn't going to vote. Without signature verification that's a huge problem. On Long Island about ten years ago they wanted to verify welfare benefits by palm print. Huge uproar but it got done. The month it was implemented the welfare rolls dropped by half, they caught one person with 21 different identities collecting.

I don't have the option of voting in person anymore. If I want to vote, I have to mail it in. The district I live in is apparently too lazy to field an adequate poll team. BTW, I live in a rural area that historically is 90% or more GOP.

The only ID you will need will be for you to travel/work/eat/live and the wall will be used to keep you in -not keep them out.Give this government an inch and in a mile down the road it will be SHOW ME YOUR PAPERS.Don’t rely on them ,get involved and monitor the vote COUNTING while you still can or soon there won’t be any elections.CORRUPT ALL OF THEM

As if any of this matters. Even if we halted the current destruction for 4 yrs. It’s still a slow slide to socialism. As every empire has done before. More taxation more divide. We will be just like Europe. Either very rich or barely squeezing by.

There will be a period as Europe went through

where they weren’t able to pay the taxes on their estates.

that’s why so many are abandoned or sold off.

So many here in the middle-class will have to sell off their assets and move into the city.

As many of said, in the past, that’s when you’ll find out what you really own. zero, that the state can’t take.

One thing to consider.... some 2.7million people die every year in America. Gotta have a better/faster system for updating voter rolls. If its even done once a year, there are potentially millions of extra ballots floating around for those Democrat run states mailing ballots to every registered voter. But I presume they already know that.....
