Season's open in Nebraska and the Southeast. I know of several birds killed. Post 'em up, boys!
...and girls, too, of course. :-)
Well, since you said girls….
Osceola, opening day south zone March 2nd.
—Jim
Love that pic, Jim. Everything in it says Florida. From the moss on the live oak tree to the palmettos around the blind to the pony tail on the hillbilly. ;-)
Congrats again!
Our season doesn't open until next month.......and as I look out my window at the falling snow, I'm glad. :)
Nice bird Jim, congratulations!
Hopefully we see 4 more on here Jim! Congrats again buddy!
Jim what blind is that and congrats on your bird great picture Lewis
Nice birds fellas! I'll be chasing them in Texas in 2 weeks can't wait.
One thing is for sure ….spring rolls around and Beav is gonna kill turkeys!
That didn’t take long…..as usual! Grats, Beav!
U 2 Jim.
Congrats Beav looks like it was a little cold and stormy.
Turkey in the freezer section, congrats Beav!
Well Beav got into em! Nice birds fellas!
Nice blizzard birds, Harlin...congrats!
I think we may have a few more to come...
Stop smiling so much Treeman!
We’ll be over there next week Harlin. Hopefully the snow melts.
Neither rain nor sleet or even a little snow will keep Beav from killing gobblers!
Congrats on the Osceola JT.
You guys are having too much fun!
I don't believe I could find a turkey in a supermarket. They are on the decline in my area of west central Alabama.
Great hunt with my sister and buddy!!!
Awesome photos!!! I hope I connect this year. I’ve had a dry spell for a few years. :-(
Great job guys!!! Great pic JT!
Congrats on the Osceola Jim, they are no push over. The birds in the SE are on a whole different level.
Wow I’m jealous lol congrats
My bowhunting buddy from another state went to Nebraska. He is a bird hunting fool (Pheasants & Grouse) in the fall & archery spring Turkeys. In 2022 & 2023 he arrowed 5 birds in 3 states. His public land bowhunt in Nebraska where he had never been b/4 is over, 2 tags, 5 days there & 3 days bowhunting & he is done.. I call him the Turkey whisperer.
It would be good information to know what birds are killed on public vs private land.
Nothing stops Beav from giving his limit of Toms a dirt nap within 48 hours of the Nebraska opener! Congrats! You're hell on them limb chickens.
No blind, no decoys. Was set up in front of a thick Cedar brush tree. Called two toms up a hill and as they crested the hill and came within range, ie, 10 yards, I killed one. Nebraska public land hunt at its finest. My best, Paul
What the heck took so long, Paul??! Must’ve been pacing yourself.
Congrats on your bird! Nebraska, I’m assuming?
Troy, Yea, today. This tom and his buddy came from 300 yards away to my box call at 6 pm. They had to traverse two brush filled ravines and then climb the hill to my hide. I did not believe they would come all the way as I was just setting their scouting the area for the past two hours, but their gobbling told me I better get an arrow on the string. They just popped out in front of me in the tall grass. Hot to trot for sure. Sometimes easy, sometimes a hard hunt.
Nothing better than cooperative birds! Congrats again, my friend!
My son and I were chasing SC gobblers last week - unsuccessful but check out how green it was there….
Nice birds all!
Way to go Paul! I figured you'd show up on this thread pretty quickly.
"No blind, no decoys...no problem", it's Paul! Congrats on some fine looking birds everyone.
Congrats Paul and Harlin. Always look forward to you fellas turkey pics!
Seems like the pics should start rolling in pretty soon! Post em up if you got em fellas!
I have an OK tag, but not till April 16. Also have a couple other states to hit as well time permitting.
—Jim
Iowa opener didn't disappoint!
26 lbs. 3 oz., 10-1/4" beard, 1" spurs
Congrats on a beauty, Nick!
Congrats Nick! He's a tank!
Nice birds! Was up in Murph and beavs neighborhood this weekend. My older son and his buddy got birds. They also took this photo. God’s country for sure.
Good job Nick, happy for you.
—Jim
Nick, super duper for sure. Nicely done. My best, Paul
Congratulations to all the successful hunters so far and good luck to the rest of us! Going to put out a blind tomorrow and be ready for our opener on the 17th.
I bet that blind has seen a lot of action over the years, not many original double bulls left out there. Congrats on the nice bird!
Stoneman, bought that from a Bowsiter. Don't remember who but sure was happy to find a T5. I have an original T2 that's still going strong as well!
Midwest, that’s a great bird, congrats. I killed quite a few out of T5 blinds. Wish they were still made.
Just before the shot
Just before the shot
Congrats T! But... someone shot that buck right before you shot the turkey? Hmmm... I might have to turn you in!!! LOL
Try this again…

Bullhead bird
Bullhead bird
WTF?? Eyad is photobombing my post!
Congrats Troy! Was wondering why you shot Eyad there for a second! Ha!
TTTT = Troy that is a Truly Tremendous Tom.
T-Roy - that license plate is funny - buddy of mine has the same one here in MA! Nice birds to all of you. We dont even open up for another 2.5 weeks. Sadness.
Congrats on a nice tom Paul!
Congrats again, Troy! Teresa's turn!
I have taken 18 turkeys with our bullhead broadhead it is so simple and easy. The head is a perfect target, i prefer to wait for them strutting and than its lights out. No meat damage, no tracking.
Congrats again, Eyad....great pics!
Iowa boys laying them out!
Thanks Nick and Cazador!! Lol Troy !!
Nebraska and Iowa getting it done...congrats guys!!!
No grilled turkey but my wife and I passed on a couple Jakes this opener. Hopefully back to get a Tom later
Double beard, to boot!
Double beard, to boot!
Wife’s bird from this morning.
The shed in the background, is a wooden creep feeder that my dad built in jr. high shop class.
Congrats to those getting out and filling their tags. Those are some nice Iowa gobblers!
Awesome pics as always Eyad, and Troy please tell Teresa congrats...and that "I'm glad she got to meet me" ;?)
Two of my grandsons with a double on their first birds this morning. They done good!!
Congrats to everyone. Nice bird Nick! Great to see you did it again Eyad!
Turks every where.. Congrats all..
Congrats to your grandson’s Rob!
Well done.
Two happy young turkey hunters Rob. Congrats!
Thanks guys, I know they appreciate it. No doubt they’ll be on Cloud 9 for quite awhile!
Super fun hunt this morning, except……….I double punched the record button, and didn’t get it on video:-(
Congrats to your grandsons, Rob! And well done, Troy!
The Iowa guys were killing me! Happy to finally have our season open here in SD!
My daughter was able to shoot a jake with her .410, but our decoys took a pretty good mauling before one separated. Her brother remains insistent on killing one with a Bullhead.
Man, I love seeing all those kid's big smiles...congrats to all!
Troy and Brotsky giving me a severe case of FOMO this morning!!!
That’s awesome, Mitch! She’s a trapping/turkey killing machine!

Classic roost hunt in Idaho Ridge was able to kill a big one for out here. Congrats to all. Hunt
My son Blaine took this beauty with his longbow on the Iowa opener.
Love seeing the kids at it Congratulations everyone. Oklahoma opens Tuesday.
Hunt, I've seen the cigar turkey pictures, but that one's new to me. Those are some hooks!
Moose, that is an awesome picture and an awesome accomplishment for your son.
Merriam- Thanks
Wait until you see the video. Incredible footage.
Nice birds, folks! Looking forward to getting after them on the 26th here.
First bird off my own place Saturday morning here in Kansas!
Had a great family outing this past weekend with my girls, and dad, he was backup shooter for my daughters first turkey bow hunt a high shot from her resulted in a punched tag for him,
Great day in the spring woods. 8 yard shot using a Magnus Bullhead. All I can say is total devastation. Good luck everyone!
Congrats all on some super pics and stories! scentman
A good taxidermist can fix most anything. Not so sure in your case, IKE220! Great shot!
Opening Day Rio in Colorado with my 7yr old
Opening Day Rio in Colorado with my 7yr old
Took the daughter and her boyfriend out. She missed a big tom the first day and he killed Ol’ F—-tail the next morning.
She had to work the morning Jon killed and of course the other two toms beat on him for 10 min at 10 yards.
I haven't had much time to hunt due to work and the fish biting. Went out to the farm opening evening and sat in my stand with my 100 year old Belgian made 16 guage. A pair of Jakes wandered by without a single call from me. The last time I dug that gun out of the safe was 9 years ago on my last hunt with my old lab Shadow. Fired it 4 times since I bought it, and killed a rabbit, quail, teal, and now a turkey.
That is a great pic Jason, congratulations. scentman
Se Mn mid morning Tom, looking for action.
My son this morning 4/19/24. He missed two 4/15 opening morning.
Congrats to your son butcherboy! Well done
My 10 year old son told me back in January he wanted to turkey hunt this year. This morning on Ohio’s opener, we called a hen and 2 longbeards into the decoys at 15 yards right off the roost. He folded up the closest bird and proceeded to shake for an hour! Pretty sure he’s a turkey hunter now! Congrats on the birds guys!
Youngest daughter shot a nice avian X decoy this morning!!!
Out of respect for the decoy, I took no pics t-roy
I can’t let Midwest get too far ahead of me! All tagged out here for prairie birds, time to head for the hills!
Despite hunting some marginal habitat and an incompetent guide, I somehow managed to scratch out a bird this morning. At least his wife could cook. :-)
Thanks again, Troy! Man, what a perfect morning.
Great photo Nick, now grab that bow before it falls over.....
Gotta love those engage limb legs, Jake!
The only thing worse than an incompetent guide, is a client that constantly assures you what a crack shot he is. Thankfully, my high school track instincts kicked in after the shot, and we were able to recover this bird…
Got one! Wasp Jak Hammer once again!
Congrats everyone!
I love that last picture Justin.
I hope you didn't pull a Hami T-roy!
Western Montana Bitterroot River
33 yards full strut
Something tells me if someone was runnin Troy it was probably Nick hahahaha! Nice birds everyone! I’m heading to the NY farm late, last weekend. Hopefully I can make one cooperate for me and the kids!
We had to set up quickly without the blind. Had him close, at 7 yards.
WOW x10, the toms are falling. Keep it up. Bow hunters rule!!!!!!!!!!!!
My sons with their opening day Triple of the Idaho youth season. I also doubled a week later on the Idaho adult opener. YES after harvesting many birds by Archery, I still think whacking birds with my shotgun is a blast. Literally!
OOPS fat fingered the submit button, SORRY!!
My son Sam arrowed a really good Montana bird. He broke the wing bone, got into the spine and tipped him over immediately!
Looked like a whitetail blood trail :)
Wife’s opening morning archery gobbler here in AZ.
Michigan bird 27.2lbs 10.5 beard
Another Michigan bird. First selfbow kill.
Out of tags in Iowa for both of us. Called this nice tom in for my wife on Saturday morning. He took his sweet time coming in. Fun hunt!
Oklahoma April 30th.
—Jim
My youngest two boys Gunner and Sawyer got a triple out of the same group of jakes
Punched my 2nd Montana tag on a big ole Tom that may have had some Merriam mixed with the white tail feathers .
28 yards in full strut.
3 years in the making granddaughter got a nice one this morning

Turkeys were made for kids. Love the kid pics!
Utah bird from this morning
Congrats everyone! I’m with Nick. Especially love to see the youngsters scoring on birds!
Goulds from Sonora Mexico.
I had a good spring!
—Jim
Afternoon of April 26, Nebraska 10 yard shot with a Bullhead, 10" beard. Then missed the same shot the next afternoon
Granddaughter yesterday morning and grandson this morning. Fun times
It’s been a helluva fun spring! Congrats to all, especially the youngsters!
I kinda lack self control, and not sure if I’ll get back to hunting another Goulds. So….Goulds number two down. Triple beard.
—Jim
"...not sure if I’ll get back to hunting another Goulds. So…."
Good logical thinking. Congrats again buddy!
Impressive, Shug! ...the turkey, too!
Congrats everyone and that’s impressive, wooddamon1!
