Just a word of thanks for taking Bowsite back to where it once was. I know politics are important, especially in election years, but the non-stop regurgitation of latest breaking news from the networks really added a non-bowhunting facet to this site. Then it just gets everyone in an argumentative mood. Sure, I know, don't look at those threads but like everything else, a negative culture slowly spreads everywhere. I don't post often but I've been around this site almost since its inception (I think) and appreciate the wisdom to just provide another outlet for those who want to exchange their political viewpoints. This isn't a "bury your head in the sand" outlook either. Our country is in a tough spot--and everyone should be involved--but there's a billion other places to voice your perspective. Now look at what we have--some fantastic stories on goat hunts, sheep hunts, moose hunts, elk & bear updates, gear asks, etc. Sure, those posts may have still been made but what a shame to have them be placed below some of those political items. Thanks Pat--I really appreciate it. Scott
Heck yea! Thank you for taking the time to write that. scentman
I agree 100%. Sure have missed it
I do miss the funnies on the main site. They are still in the NonTypical area, but much less activity. Some were political, to be sure, but I did enjoy them.
Agreed, Bigfoot, but that’s the ONLY one I miss!
Yep, nice to come to a bowhunting site again!
Well said Good move Pat clapping emoji
It's nice, indeed. And it's made it easier to control myself, which is cool ha ha ha!
I feel the same, thank you Pat!
Yep, it took a long time but righteousness always prevails
I think you guys are actually disappointed cuz you can’t bitch about it anymore.
You let us do the "thinkin" Spike
I think you’ve got bauxite poisoning, spike….
Can we still start baiting threads?
Thanks for the peace of mind.
No Conner, this is a hunting site ;)
Hahaha Kyle, I’ll take it to the non typical forum :)
Much, much better. Thank you Pat. Took ya long enough :)
It is truly grand to read bowsite and just escape Politics , arguements etc. I just absorb threads like which broadhead , what arrow spine , what sight is best , good targets , what gear , old goat harvests old goat . Its once again educational , informative and a place to go to get away from politics and focus on what really matters our passion for adventure and bowhunting A welcome welcome step Great job Pat
Got to the point where in my mind bowsite wasn’t about bow hunting anymore. I would go weeks or months without ever looking at it because of all the liberal democrat BS and politics in general but….things are looking up! I like the way rokslide never has allowed that site to get that way.
Bowsite is an escape from a world that is passing me by. Thanks

Bowsite is an escape from a world that is passing me by. Thanks
Oops. I have no idea how I did that.
I’m so glad Pat made this happen. I was beginning to really feel sorry for the guys that were to weak emotionally to sort out the different topics
You can say that again grape!
I’ve noticed most of the political guys haven’t commented or congratulated any of the successful hunters on recent hunting threads. That’s telling to me.
What does it tell you GG?
Great post and I agree 100%. Thank you sir!
I filled out to be able to go to non typical forum but haven't been able to. Do miss the monthly funnies but def don't miss the political threads.
GG I commented on Paul’s thread so don’t be pointing at me.
Funny........What broadhead did you use to kill it Pat?
This is fantastic
as bad as it was and had gotten. I didn’t even realize the extent of that until things got cleaned up a few weeks ago, and we can work in this format.
This simplicity clarity and focus that we now have on hunting related topics segregated from the rest of the worlds issues is absolutely magnificent
Papadeerhtr - Curious, were you able to login to the NonTypical side, there is a funnies thread over there...
One point of curiosity that I’m sure we will never understand is why it took years to make this great change
it’s not like the addition of a segregated forum for non-hunting topics required any transformational IT innovation or infrastructure redesign
it really seems on the surface as if it was a pretty simple way to put a firewall between hunting and non-hunting topics
Assuming that’s generally accurate what was the delay and what was the cost of the degradation of the old sites positive characteristics?
All the matters where we are now, but it is curious Wyatt years to essentially put a Band-Aid on a cut
It’s just reverted back to the way it was with the community forum, but with a different name.
Doesn't this belong in the nontypical forum? grin
yep--its been pretty awesome these past few weeks! Incredible posts!
Scott
In all honesty, its been pretty nice over on the Nontypical forum also.
Adults are free to discuss variety of different topics that affect hunters...both directly and indirectly...without the constant whining and bellyaching.
Thanks Pat...
Yep, really enjoy the change. I read more than I post, but almost got away from the main Bowsite altogether because I got tired of scrolling past all the political threads to find an occasional archery/ hunting one. Life is a 2 way street so now everyone can enjoy their side of the street.
Yep. Love the change. I have not been on the non typical side, but this side seems like the bowsite from 10 years ago again. I love it.
A great move in the right direction. A pleasure to read through the posts again !
it is absolutely amazing how quick the joy returned to the site for those that aren’t looking for dialogue here on non-hunting societial issues.
I may wander over to the nontypical forum once a week if it crosses my mind mostly just to be reminded of how good we have it now
Don't miss the political posts at all, but do miss the funnies. I tried to get on the non typical site but can't seem to get registered?
Yup. Bowsite is better with those posts somewhere outside the BG forums.
Aint been aint going ,Thanks Pat
