Nice bucks! Season doesn't open for another week yet here in Ohio. Most bucks here have shed their velvet by now. The ones we've gotten on trail cams lately anyway.
Great animals everyone and congrats!
My season opens tomorrow, can't wait!
Awesome to see these great deer folks. That velvet buck up top is beautiful!
Nice bunch of critters, way to "git-r-done" guys.

Great deer Beeman. That quiver has some serious ammo capacity.
Beeman, wow! That was worth the wait! Great bucks, guys, I've got a newfound love for whitetails this year and going to give it my all!
First hunt of the season for me. Target buck walks in at 8yds. Major storms for couple days prior got the deer moving early that evening. My PB whitetail.
Love the side view, Buckslayer. Congrats!
There we go, congrats everyone.. And good luck to those still to come. Get after em....
Beemann that velvet buck is something else! Still haven't got one of those and we do have one of the earliest deer season openers here in Manitoba. It'll happen yet. Woulda loved to have this buck in velvet but had no time to hunt for the first 3 weeks of the season. Great job on some great bucks fellas!
Dandy bucks guys!! I'm gettin ready to start, gonna be less than 85* this week !!
This thread gets me excited for my Iowa hunt later this fall.
It'll be my 2nd hunt in Z-5 over the last 10/11 years.
Maybe I'll get my 1st ever Whitetail Buck and be able to share on here.

Great hunters on Bowsite WTG
My sons first buck. Full disclosure it's a muzzle loader kill, only thing that's kept him from hunting with a bow is working up to legal poundage here and us finding him the right bow as he's grown so quickly in the last yr since he got his hunters safety. But I figured since this community celebrates the successes with each other, I'd post it. We made a spot and stalk on this buck from 500 yds, and surprisingly over very open ground. Almost no cover except the deer was feeding in the open on a bean field and we were quite a bit lower along a rivers edge. He was able to stalk into 150yds and made an excellent shot with the muzzle loader. His first call was to his mother at home, then his grandpa (my dad) who is now going to be passing on to him a bow he thinks could work for him and he's hooked for life! Love seeing kids get excited about hunting and I look forward to many yrs spent with him as my hunting buddy!
Some great deer already !
Buckslayer, I realize that pics won’t post right now, but when they get it fixed come back and post the pic of your son’s buck.
Harvested 10/11. Good shot Iron Will V100 deer ran 35 yards and took a dirt nap. I passed him up last year a few times. All kinds of pictures and sighting this year and he have me a good shot opportunity. Time to go thin out some doe.
That one's got a bit of piebold in'm, pretty cool!
Try this again. Adding to the meat pole.

First tag filled yesterday morning.
Not too often you get to hunt a real Manitoba stud like this but feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity. My brother Adam (apauls) has lots of history with him, and he had him figured for 7 1/2. It seemed he’d summer over at a piece he was hunting and then move as crops came off and ended up on land where I hunt. He was moving from one pretty open food source to a more secluded alfalfa pasture about 700 yards away just after legal when I caught him slipping through the poplars. The rest is history.
Whoop there it is! Giant. Pics don't even really do it justice. Congrats bro!
Couple Canadian giants. Congrats . Matt and Justin!!
Tried to post earlier but failed. Great buck Matt

Proud dad moment. My son got his first bow kill tonight! He's been snakebit for a few years and things finally came together for him. The smile says it all! Nice MN doe.
Good deal, Steve! Grats to your son.
Looks like a good shot on a big doe. Congratulations!
One of our target bucks, mature but only 8 (plus sticker). Yesterday 10/24 and saw 11 bucks by 7:30am before taking this one. A friend of my son that helps out around our Ohio place keeping stands up and trails open and I let him hunt in exchange. Mass carried all the way out. Gross 154.4
10/21 Indiana. My second year hunting Indiana with our MI Boys group. Was a great hunt, rattled & snort wheezed him in from a bedding thicket. He was tearing trees up and wheezing back numerous times. Shot him at 18 yards with an IronWill 150 wide, hit the top of the heart and he went 40 yards.
I went grocery shopping in Minnesota on Friday. Shot two does in the morning.

Awesome bucks, let's see less long arms though! Too may guys ruining what could be great pics
Nice pic, but I prefer hero pics to have the hunter in them.
My younger son, Nolan, got on the board with his first bow kill. He worked on his shooting quite a bit this past summer and is developing patience and woodsmanship. Double lunged from 22 yards or so with a short track. -They grow up fast.
Awesome! Congratulations.
Atta kid, Nolan!!! The first is a big deal! Many congrats to you and your dad.
Way to go Nolan and all the youngsters getting on board!

Way to go Nolan, good shot!
Decided to try out my new Hoyt and Sevr Ti 1.5 Hybrid heads. Took a freezer filler this morning.
My gf Kristen asked if it would be worth hunting these last few days with the temps near 80. I said as long as the wind is OK to go for it - you never know this time of year. Well, I wasn't home from work yet and she texted me that she was going for a sit. Around 6pm she called and after a brief silence on the other end, until she could gather herself, she said with a shaky voice "I just shot a buck!" . It's been a few years of hunting with me (on occasion), but this season she put forth good effort by practicing shooting routinely and slowly gaining confidence climbing on her own. Just a few days back at dark I watched her coming over the hill of the field with no headlamp on. She's come a long way since being scared of the dark, terrified of heights, and asking "can we go now?" after hearing coyotes howl nearby at sundown :). She made good on an opportunity for her first bow kill (after passing multiple yearling bucks no less).... I am proud of her to say the least.
That is awesome! Tell her congrats and welcome to the club!
Way to go Kristen. Great buck.
Huge Congrats to your girl friend SaddleReaper! She's a keeper!
Great deer all. Especially love seeing the kid's big smiles! Way to pass it on fellas!
Great stuff congratulations to everyone so far. More to come. It’s getting good.
WOW, big congratulations, especially to the first timers. Way to get it done!!
Good job everyone! SaddleReaper- that's pretty great!
Awesome bucks everyone and love seeing the first timers getting it done!!
Tight racked old Hoosier buck. Eight yard heart shot while chasing a doe. Lucky arrow put him on the ground less than eighty yards from the stand.
Edit: Have learned this buck's home range was on a neighboring farm a couple miles SE of the property I hunt. Owner provided multiple mature buck photos of this buck on that farm from 2019 until a week prior to my shot and mentioned a member of their family hit him high with a ML in 2021. Being told this buck is at the very least... 8-1/2 years old...quite possibly a year or two older. Definitely an old monarch whitetail.
Congrats Paul! Saw the pic earlier today. Very cool and unique rack!

Fantastic time once again with good friends!
Ohio 11/8/24 Nice bucks guys!
My Grandson works 6, 10 hour days & my son has worked a Nuclear plant 5 weeks, 12 hours & had 2 days off until they finished the work. So, both have had no time to bowhunt. Today was my Grandsons 3rd time out (I think) & he went this morning (Nov 9th). My son got home yesterday & went this afternoon for the 2nd time of the season (Nov9th) It will be a day to remember. They both watched them drop. It was a good day to be in the woods in Illinois.
My grandson, Carter, and his first bowkill whitetail buck! Very happy young bowhunter and very proud Grandpa!
That is awesome Paul!!! A day neither of you will ever forget. My grandpa was waiting for me in the parking area the morning I shot my first archery buck.
Manitoba. Nov. 8. Darton Sequel 33. Rage Black 2" broadhead. Complete pass through. 11 yard shot. 58 yard recovery. I slept in and only got into the stand at 8:50 am and killed him at 8:55 am.
A good buddy of mine in Iowa that has recently been liberated from a horrible marriage. I think he is coping extremely well.
My kids got to go on their first blood trail. Great times ! Ohio 11-8-24, old trusty bowtech and a two inch rage, watched him tip over.

Well shit, I gotta follow Hunt with my little buck....let him walk last Thursday and then made a bad shot on a good one, went back to the same stand this morning and this dude showed back up. Hunting time is limited and I need some venison in the freezer so he didn't get a second pass.
Some great bucks everyone! Congrats!

Awesome day in the stand on the 11th! Tons of cruising and chasing. Spotted this guy headed my at about 8:30. He stopped, facing me at thirty, then decided he was gonna go back the other way. Headed straight away, then turned just a tiny bit, quartering hard away. I grunted at him and he turned towards me a little more and stopped at 38 yds. Ended up hitting him just a tick low, but it entered about the second rib from the back and exited tight behind the off shoulder. Watched him run down into the ravine and stop about 90 yds away. He stood there for several minutes, head down, slightly stumbling a couple of times, then bedded down. After a couple of minutes, he got back up and walked a few steps to where I could no longer see him. Felt good about the shot, but I backed out to give him some time to hopefully die and not blow him out of the country.
The wife and I went in to look for him about 4pm. We found him about 15 minutes later. He was probably dead within an hour of shooting him. I had a 3 year history with him. Nicknamed him Fubar in 2022, because he had messed up the right side of his rack while in velvet that year. This is the first year he had any droptines. Bonus!
T-Roy, Great mass and character on that deer. Congratulations.
I'm just happy to say I know you T-roy, another great deer! Hunt, as usual one of the coolest pics I've seen, congrats

Bernie
Another hammer very nice Chad congrats.
Awesome buck t-roy!! Some tanks hitting the ground!
Was able to fill another tag on the 12th. This buck was pushing a doe away from me across the river. With nothing to lose I crashed my rattling antlers together and to my amazement, he stopped in the middle of the river, turned, and headed my way. Thought he was going to give me a perfect 15 yard shot but he veered off to a scrape 30 yards north of me. I don't like shooting that far but I took the shot. Hit him about half way back but it did the job. He made to the mud on the edge of the river.
PA on 11/13. 2nd deer with the Ethos. 28yds using a 125gr Wicked Trick.
