Has anyone heard from Karsten in the past month? Was booking a hunt and got to the final stages and haven’t had a reply since a month ago. His wife had mentioned they had some sickness in the family so thought there may be something going on but wanted to touch base here before booking with Frank. Thanks,
They are likely in the field and have been since early August. My advice would be wait. He will get with you. I hunted with frank in 2019 and Karsten in 2023.
Just hunted with him two weeks ago. He’s been in the field. They are down to their last few weeks of the season so he should be back to civilization soon.

Thanks bou! I’ll give him another week or so before booking with frank everyone seems to recommend him more.
He’s out grappling musk ox on the tundra!
Thanks for the replies guys! I’ll be patient just thought something might have happened or my emails weren’t getting through. Awesome musk ox
I was told by Karsten in August that he would be back middle of October. Had the same issues contacting him too but you have to have some patience and it will pay off-just as bowhunting.
Frank runs a comparable top notch operation hunt quality-wise to Karsten for 4,000.00 more plus $500 for trophy shipping to Europe for a single ox than Karsten charges for an ox / caribou combo hunt or for two ox. Shipping is included.
If money is not a factor consider them essentially equal but I would still give the edge to Karsten as a pure family operation. He’s just tad more personal.
You will be trilled with either but pay much more for one.
Yeah, A lot of my buddies are guides and this time of year is hit and miss trying to reach them.
I sent out inquiries about hunts three weeks ago to multiple outfitters and am just now getting responses.

Grant I think it may quite a bit more than $3000 difference now..
I'm pretty sure most hunters book with Karsten using a booking agent. I booked direct with Karsten, but it took a few months to get that done. The actual hunt offer came from Karsten himself after reaching out on Messenger instead of email (Thanks Shug!). Once the hunt was planned...all emails came from Karsten's wife, Hanne.
While hunting with Karsten this past August, he mentioned wanting to start booking more hunts himself (and Hanne)...also mentioned the possibility of becoming a Bowsite sponsor. Mentioned he is very grateful for all the Bowsite support.
Can any of you guys recommend a booking agent that books for Karsten? Also looking for a new agent in general if there’s any highly recommended. Would be a mix of archery and rifle.

Bob Wodzisz was who booked me there.
^^^ I’d highly recommend Bob W. as well.
Chris Muller is who I booked through. +1 (215) 290-2099
Was trying to book a hunt with Karsten for the past few years. Prior hunts were in the7k range. I did contact Hanne and was informed that 2025 hunts will be $8,900. I was counting on the 7k price. Did a pass on the $8,900
Just looked at the BSC catalogue - NWT Muskox hunt is $16-22K; Nunavut Muskox hunt is $13,500; the other Greenland Outfitter is $15k for Muskox and $22K for a Muskox/caribou combo. Karsten is still a bargain IMO
I paid 8100 in 2023 for ox and my sons combo was 11,100. Not sure where the 7k came from but even so it’s a shame to pass on this adventure over 1,900.
Mine was a cancellation hunt for muskox and fishing the first four days in August. Got lucky on the cost slightly >$7k. Had we located a good mature caribou bull, that would have been an additional $4k hunt cost...but didn't see anything close to what I wanted.
