Congratulations to Tom! Heck of an archery accomplishment!
Anybody have linky with pictures please?
Does anyone have a pic?
Congrats Tom!
Nice Tom, thanks for being a good email friend and the story behind this great accomplishment. Paul
I saw a pic. It’s unreal!
Sure, I've got the pix but I think if Tom wanted them on the internet he might post them.
Maybe go to the Wild Sheep website and see if they have the mag online??
Page 84 like I stated above.
Good luck, Robb
Congrats Tom! I can only imagine that was quite the experience!
Congrats on a hell of an accomplishment!
Can't even imagine the life journey it would be to hunt an Hangay Argali Ram, great to hear, must have been awesome, CONGRATS to Tom...
Don't mean to distract, but does Tom have a handle here?... Thanks...
for us that have no idea what a Hangay Argali ram looks like>
Altai Argali
Ovis ammon
French: Mouflon argali / German: Altai-Wildschaf / Spanish: Argali del Altai
Other common names: Siberian Argali
Taxonomy. Capra ammon Linnaeus, 1758 , Altai Mountains.
The taxonomic status of argali in Mongolia remains unresolved. Based on genetic variation at the mitochondrial NDb5 locus, there was not sufficient genetic differentiation among populations in Mongolia to justify separating Altai and Gobi Argali (O. darwini) into separate evolutionarily significant units. However, based on mtD-NA control region and nuclear microsatellite analyses, there are two major wild sheep groups in Mongolia, the Altai Argali from the Altai and the Gobi Argali from the Hangay (west-central Mongolia) and Gobi Desert. Monotypic.
Distribution. E Russia, E Kazakhstan, W Mongolia, and NW China
That's a huge accomplishment with a bow! Talk about price increased I remember not too long ago when Mongolia hunts were less than $10k for a combo ibex/sheep!!!
Wow! What an accomplishment. Would be great to see a photo.
No. Picture is off the internet with title that says world record.
Date is unknown so it may not even hold the top spot.
I have not seen the ram but can vouch for his World Class head of hair…..
Great hunter, even nicer guy. Congratulations Tom!
