Long story short----Very very few geese and no lookers and no shot opportunity.

Geese can see color and when there in no green grass on the ground they look elsewhere and that is the case in this area. Because of the lack of natural moisture, lack of irrigation on the surrounding lawns, the geese are feeding other places. Hard to decoy geese in when they do not want to be there. The big lake across the hwy is frozen so the geese are not stock pilling there. If I could set up a blind on the corner of Main and first or in the local Super Market , I might kill a few. I will kept it in the near future. My best, Paul

Good to have a friend like Teal to hang out with hey Paul?

We've a foot of snow in Ohio for the last couple weeks, at least you can still see the grass albeit brown. Best of luck next time Paul.

Will archery goose hunt Tues and Wed morning and on Thursday, will travel 100 east to try for shotgun mallards which have been very few this late Dec and early January. Got to give it one more try for ducks and for Teal.

I was wondering the same thing about adding some fake greenery to the set up. Perhaps a piece of turf or some pieces of artificial Christmas tree spread out flat? Anything to keep the Yard Hopper series moving forward! Good Luck with the Mallards.

Jim, sowing some winter wheat is a good idea, but 6-8 weeks to late.
