Moultrie Mobile

I was hunting with a couple of friends in the Santa Catalina Mts outside Tucson Az. on January 5th 1995. In the afternoon, we split up in order to cover more ground as we were not seeing any game. I made a big circle, watching the wind as I went along. I was approaching the base of a hill when I spotted some Javalina's. The wind was in my favor but the Jav's were moving fast so I scurried along to cut them off. This was my first hunt with a Longbow. As I reached the base of the hill there was a small clearing. The wind started to pick up and swirl wildly. This made the jav's nervous and one darted at the far end of the clearing in front of me at 15 yds. I tried to lead him a little but my arrow hit a rock behind the speedy critter. Another Jav follwed swiftly behind and I loosed the arrow with the same result. Then I spotted this Javelina under a tree in front of me and dispatched it with a clean heart shot. I was thrilled to have this trophy the "Hard Way", with a longbow.
