A doe came down a trail 20 yards upwind from my stand. She acted a little nervous. She stopped and stood for a minute and then made her way pass my stand. Then, I heard grunting and he came in on a trot. I stood and picked a window through the branches ahead of him on the trail. I drew back and let out a mouth grunt when he entered the window. He locked up and I nailed him. He went 20 yards and stood looking back. I thought I missed, so I grunted a couple times. He stood for a minute before stumbling and falling over. After all that his spike friend came through without knowing what happened. The doe and the spike were still about 45 yards away when I climbed down to check him out.
