I set up on a ridge above a standing corn field and caught this one coming back from breakfast. He came in with another smaller buck, that stopped directly under my stand to smell my bow pull-up rope. If the bigger buck took the same path, I would have no shot. Luckily, he veered to my left and gave me a perfect broadside shot under 10 yards. On his death run, he ran head on into a 6" diameter dead tree, just over the ridge. The force of him hitting it knocked it over, which I could see from my stand. I found the buck underneath that tree!
