This year has been the hardest for me to find mature bucks. I have been hunting hard for the last 4 weeks, and have passed a lot of does and small bucks. I hunted this morning in Southbury with the rifle and only saw 3 deer 150yds over the property line. So tonight I went to my bow spot in East Haddam.Had 4 does around me for 45 min till just at last legal light,and no bucks showed. So I took the largest doe; she only lived a few seconds. The other deer stayed around and locked me in the stand till way after shooting light. This is the largest doe I have ever taken I think she is over 140lbs This is my 7th deer this year... but can't seem to buy a mature buck! So after 7 sits without pulling the trigger I had to take this one!
