I was hunting a state land spot I have deep in woods. It was 30 mins before last legal light and I decided To hit the bleat can and grunt a little bit. About 5 mins After the sequence I hear something behind me and turn slow to see this buck making a scrape at 50 yards!! After making scrape he started rubbing on a tree, while grunting!! He walks into my shooting lane at 30 yards and I draw on him but he then turns and starts walking away. I let my bow down and thought I wasn't gonna get a shot. Right after that he did a 180 degree turn kept grunting and came right to my tree, stood broadside at 19 yards and Iet it fly! Hit a little high followed up with another shot within 5 seconds and 30 seconds after that he was done! Great day to be a bowhunter!! Ruts in full swing in ct!!
