Was third attempt to stalk two Arapawa Rams on 12th day of safari in New Zealand. These two rams had proved pretty wily. I got within 20 yards of the smaller of the two rams but both were nice trophies. He was bedded and dozing. I was on side hill and was able to get an arrow out and start to draw when he sprung up the side hill of the ravine we were in. He paused and I got a 40 yard shot into his wooly ribs slightly quartered away. He got back with his partner and I got another arrow in at 40 yards on the opposite side and went down with a third shot from 60 yards. First two shots were a tad high on the ribs. They are so wooly their wool goes all the way to the ground so you can't see their legs or anything, just a wooly boxxy tank. Very alert and aware. More like hunting an Audad than Corsican Sheep in my opinion. Was a great challenge and really enjoyed hunting them. Scott Thomson from Southern Hunting Safaris New Zealand did a great job.
