I'm looking for some good ideas for a Coues' deer shoulder or pedestal mount. If you have any pictures please share.

Thanks, Andy

I went for "keep it simple" as it will likely be the only one I'll ever mount! These little guys stand out even amongst bigger animals in the Trophy room. Nice deer Andy! Congrats! Charlie

I don’t know if Weller's Wildlife Studio in Tucson has a website, but when I walked into their shop I knew almost instantly I wanted one of their wall pedestal mounts for my Coues buck.

They do have a website. I found this photo of a Coues wall pedestal. I'm having something like this done with my buck.

I kept my mount traditional but I like the above pedestal mount. paul

Additon, keeping the ears flared forward seems to add to their character.

I'm with Bob, I think smaller critters look great on a wall pedestal!

I like to do custom mounts and my buddy (an ex taxidermist who owned Tucson Taxidermy for 15 yrs) developed this form for a "side mount" years ago and has the patent for it. That's why you do not see any wall pedestal forms that completly flush up to the wall like this one does. Turning the head back a bit over his shoulder instead of looking straight out really adds a lot to the interest of these when done that way.

Hey Scott, I have a Colorado WT with its ears back. He was that way when he came into the decoy.

Since the Couse deer are much smaller, having the ears back on a coues deer really makes them look so much smaller and the head mount seems unbalanced..
