Looks like they have tags in their ears are they trap and transfer from another area? What state is that?Cool pics Thanks

They are trapped and medicated from time to time to help monitor the herd. These are Colorado rams. The ram with the broken horn has an ear tag of 86, he is about 12 or 13 years old I think. Two of the rams just might bust that 180 mark.

Vic, Cool pictures Vic! S34 is in CO, not MT, right? I can't find a ram in the pic that will bust 172. I looked at almost all the rams in the unit last year and with the exception of you know who...I can't put 'em near 180.

wow. some day I'll be withing 15 yards of a group of rams like that!!!....i can dream can't I??

Tim: I think the bases are decieving in 34. I think two of those would get close. I certainly could be high on my guesses. Elmer, you could be within 15 yards today if you found these guys.

170 180 who cares I'd shoot just about anyone of them given the chance.

I have to agree with Bighorn. The middle and far right rams may push 175, but not 180. They just don't have the length to break 180.

I have this one pegged at about 175 also. What do guys think?

I agree, about 175 ish. The last 183 ram that came out of S34 had 36" length.

Is there a reason I can’t see any of the embedded photos?? I’m fairly new...

They were hosted by Photobucket. Photobucket no longer allows you to link to them without some BS fee so all of those pics are now MIA. Sucky deal on a lot of the old threads we have.

Those Rams will all score 170 or less. The gap between the horns, the tighter the gap the larger the Ram is.

Bowana would know, he held the P&Y world record for a number of years with a CO ram that was >190".

Some 12 yr old post so those big rams would be 20-something years old now.

On a side note.....anyone know if Vic Lauer (the OP) is still around? Haven't seen him post in years.

He is still in the Colorado Springs area with his wife and daughter. Still drawing houses.

I know that broken horn ram he was six inches shorter on the broken side last time I saw him
