Let's see your goat mounts
Mountain Goat
Contributors to this thread:
Trying to decide how to get my BC mountain goat mounted. (Am not doing a lifesize, caped it out 3/4 for wall mount with front legs) Would like to see some mount pics along with the name/type of form.
Thanks!
I am thinking of this one. JJ
Man, I like that one too JJ!
Here is mine only a shoulder mount not sure of the form used.
Here is my Nanny, the one in the middle. Probably the only goat I will ever shoot.
Busta'ribs....that rock formation is amazing. Really makes the goat stand out.
I agree with PAstringking that rock formation is incredible! It's so life-like!
Kelly had over 100 hours into the base alone on this mount. The photos really don't do it justice, it truly looks like I have a cliff growing out of my drywall.
I have a good friend that is a very accomplished artist, his paintings typically sell for up to $25k and he has his work displayed in galleries all over the world. It's funny, he is not a hunter and has no real interest in hunting but when he saw the mount he simply could not believe the detail and talent displayed in that rock base.
It's really an out of the park piece.
Cant wait for my Bighorn. C'mon Kelly, hurry up already with the sheep mount!
Busta,
Wow, that mount is awesome! Like everyone else I love the rock. Mine will be a 1/2 lifesize walking down.
Thanks everyone for posting!
Great mounts!!! Hope I have luck in my Sep 2012 hunt and could get one of these beauties!!!
Busta, I may have to steal some of your ideas for your game room. that is absulutely incredible!
I think I have posted this before, but here are a couple pictures of my goats. Bill
llama,
That is awesome..........wow!
X2 on Jasper's Awesome!!! Any or all from Utah?
Bill, very cool (and unique) seeing 3 goats on the same base. Two Billy's or all three? The one on the left looks like it may be a Nanny but I'm guessing.
Great looking piece.
Busta is correct Jim kelly is the Man dosnet matter what critter he mounts ,,
Llama: IMO all animals look SO MUCH BETTER with the front end higher. No offence to others, but the 'downhill' pose makes one focus on the rear end instead of the horns/head and I've never liked any downhill pose, be it sheep, goat, cougar, etc.
Really like the positions of each of yours; combined onto one pedestal is very impressive!
Carl
Fantastic mount Llama. I should be getting my mount back in 2 weeks.
Busta, You are correct - good eye. The goat on the left is a nanny my wife took in Utah, the center goat is from MT and the one on the right from Alaska. I had the Alaska mount for some time, and took the other two goats the same year. The alaska goat was incorporated into the new base and the two new goats were done by Dean Schulte at High Uintahs Taxidermy.
Bill
The thicker horn bases on the Billy's and the thinner sweeping curve on the Nanny's horns made me wonder.
I think the fact that you have a Nanny on there with the two Billy's makes the piece that much more interesting.
Really good mount.
wow, you guys got some great mounts..I hope to hunt a goat before I cant do the climb anymore. My bucket list for sure.
Rifle kill goat half life size. Hardest hunt yet sea level to glaciers.

Here’s a photo to show how absolutely destroyed he was before the taxidermist got his hands on him. Absolutely thrilled at how well it turned out given how it literally fell off a mountain!

Not much room to spare, huntinelk! Looks great. Congrats!
Busta...... can you post any new pics of your goat mount on here. Sucks that we lose a lot of the pics on here after a time.
Self glorification is a sin, but since you asked...
Life sized was out for me cannot justify that expense. Super happy how this turned out.
Huntcell that is a great way to do a half mount.
