My son Reed painted his first fish. He asked me if he could do a mount thread like I do. Lol. He was smiling ear to ear all day yesterday as he walked around the competiton room... he even signed his first autograph.

Can you explain about the finger painting aspect of the process? I assumed all of the painting is done with an airbrush.?

T-roy, No airbrush at all. He painted the top green with a marker and the rest was just rubbed on with his finger. The black lines on the side we used a charcoal stick. Then he sealed it with a can of lacquer clear gloss to seal and blend colors... almost melts them together. Easy way for kids to learn paints. It will be a while before he can use an airbrush.

Mark, I'm sure he will be more than happy to show you! Reed started much younger the me. I started small do it yourself jobs like horn mts and turkey tails around 12 for myself and mounted my first animal in taxidermy school at 18...a long time ago! Lol
