The announcement is supposed to be made tomorrow. Obama is putting African lions on the endangered species list.

I am not sure the attached is accurate (popular media article, color me skeptical), but the impact of the executive order the emperor is supposed to be enacting is not as harsh as it sounds.
What I find interesting is that the EO is supposed to prohibit those who have been convicted of game violations (such as Palmer) from being able to receive import permits going forward:
"Importing sport-hunted trophies and other wildlife or animal parts into the United States is a privilege, not a right, a privilege that violators of wildlife laws have demonstrated they do not deserve," Ashe said.

I was sceptical about it at first, but it seems to be a good way to show the general masses how much the trophy hunting helps conservation.
