I was lucky enuff to draw the unit 50-52 august antelope tag in nm. Have hunted the unit several times for other species but never antelope. Was curious if anyone had any recent experience in these units and maybe a good area to start. I have no idea where they would be in late aug or if the rut would be starting yet. Thanks and you can send a pm

we hunt elk in 52 most years, The antelope are scattered, but just about everywhere. The are even in the trees up to mid elevation. I would keep in mind that landowners who have unit wide tags must allow hunting to anyone with a tag. A little research could open up some additional land for you to hunt. good luck, as when are there the antelope seem pretty spooky

Thanks 79065! Are unit wide landowners listed on nmdgf site? Wish I would have known this the previous times I elk hunted 52

Yes, there is the APLUS list that shows whether the permits are RO or UW. It is on the game and fish website.

I found the ranches and mapped them out. Thanks!

most of the ranches i have found are out in the flats, usually just sagebrush. No much for elk habitat, but there are usually antelope out there. I have seen antelope all the way up near the wilderness area.
