The joys of retirement! I copied this idea from a fellow Bowsiters thread a few years ago! C
And a Tooney to boot! Very Nice!
Looks great!! I might have to "borrow" that idea :)
Cool! I saved claws from my first bear for necklaces and I have my skull on the same pedestal. That's a good idea for my next one. I like the coin too.
I'll have to remember this, great idea. Looks great Charlie!
Thanks guys! As with most of my good ideas it came from another Bowsiter post a couple years back:)
Very nice mount. Well done job. Congrats
That's special, very nice!
Nice work. Good idea with the claws.
Just polished up these Turkey Spurs as well! C
Before polishing (right) and after (left)!
Charles in Charge:
What is the procedure you follow for polishing the claws and spurs? Looks very nice....
Are you just gluing them on the panel after?
Mike
R: Use the "Search Forums" tab above the Big Game Forum page and keyword "Polishing Bear Claws". The complete procedure is shown on the video! I just did what he did! Good luck! C
PS: Just a small amount of Gorilla Glue on each claw!
Very nice Charlie! Way cool!
With your good retirement investments, I see you splurged & went with a Tooney instead of just a Looney:>)
I'd press the like button if we had one!
Thanks! I know what to do with the next one I get!
Nice. Oak is hard to beat for simplistic beauty. God Bless
Very, very nice display! Did you polish the rest of the claws to, for some other art work?
I took the center out of a Toony and embedded it into a rifle bolt handle.
'Course the Toony only adds about a $1.47 value to your plaque. lol
Ambush: I'm doing the other claws now. Retirement work never ends:)
The Tooney might be worth $1.47 now but if Hillary is elected it could go to $10.40:)
THANKS again, Guys!
Charlie
If she gets in, I would look at cattle futures.........or Canada:>(
Charlie, our quarter has a caribou on it, so there is another theme.
And our nickel has a beaver, but you better keep that trophy display to yourself.
I kept some coins from RSA and one has a Kudu on it, which will be incorporated into that mount.
