You have arguably the best Desert tag in the country Stick. Hope you kill a monster. 180 rams in there for sure. I am looking forward to it as well. 43B ain't no slouch. Thanks.

Congratulations guys! sheephunter2 here's my 43B ram from 2014. Last year 173 and 178 rams were taken in the unit. You are going to have a great hunt and great experience!

Nice, who did you hunt with? Need one of those guys to go along with my Colo Rocky and my Yukon Dall. Quite a few sheep in here huh?

I hunted with Larry Altimus. This was a rifle ram. There are good numbers of sheep but, as always, they are unpredictable as to where they will be at any given time - so lots of climbing and glassing will likely be in order.
The unit average over time is about 160. Those two big rams taken last year opened a lot of eyes. Many postulate they came over from the neighboring Kofa mountains unit. I share that theory as 43B is a very actively hunted unit with 5-7 hunters annually, so it's hard for me to imagine two big boys like that making it unscathed. One, maybe - but not two.
But, there could be more of them that have come over too.

I highly recommend Larry if you are in the market for a guide. He knows that unit like the back of his hand. Altimusadventures.com

TXHunter, that's a beautiful mount. Was it done in Arizona or Texas?

Thank you! It was done by Dean Haun out of Thompson Falls, Montana. He came highly recommended and I was very pleased with him. He did a great job both on the ram and customizing the habitat to fit the rocks, terrain, plants, etc. all as they were in the field.
