I bumped some older stories up to the top for a new hunter to check out and then thought it might be nice to put links in one place.
I can't seem to remember the titles of a lot of the great stories from the past. So I'm not being successful with my searches. If anyone can remember the titles of stories that they enjoyed, please drop a link into this thread. Also, any really helpful threads like the BigDan interview.
He'll enjoy them and others probably will too. And it'd be nice to have links in one spot.

There was one about a guy just learning to call, on his first hunt in Idaho. He almost froze one night. he had two buddies but spiked way back by himself to find the elk. Called it from the opposite ridge and met it in the bottom. That was a good one.
Can you remember the title of it or who posted it? If you can think of it and search it up, post a link.
That was Steve Jo's "Idaho, solo, ultralight". I found it but it comes up in Bowsite mobile for whatever reason so no pics!

I think it would be interesting to see a list of all posts sorted by highest # of replies. Maybe Pat could add a more extensive search function that could do this by a selected date range also.

For some reason I can't find the link to the story I wrote up in 2014 of our WY elk hunt. That was a fun one... If someone else can find it, please post the link. I'm obviously not smart enough to run a computer today!!!
Scoot - Thanks for posting those links. Great stories and pics.

Dont waste your time reading the link Barty1970 posted...
I want those 10 minutes back...
I'm with cnelk. I'm not a big fan of how he comports himself, however I think his attitude highlights the extreme differences between the authors of every other story on this thread and Steve. I think that I would consider myself fortunate to share a camp with any of these other guys.
I hope that others will continue to post links to their stories or the quality stories of others that they've enjoyed. My lurking buddy has been reading voraciously and I've had fun revisiting them as well.
He he he...profuse apologies...but I couldn't resist
Yep. No need to apologize. Someone drew my attention back to that link. Apparently that forum reached saturation and made the decision to discontinue further stories from Steve. Bounced him and locked the thread.

Bwahahahahaha not sure how I could have mangled the links in this thread anymore than I did!
Thanks Orion!
No problem Scoot. Fantastic story again.
Got a PM and thought I'd bump this up. Please drop in a link to any of your favorite hunt stories. Resurrect them for others. Enjoying a story or two over the holidays will be nice.
It was a new elk hunter that prompted this thread, but the stories don't have to be elk stories.
Thanks Barty1970. I'd like that 15 minutes back.

Bumping this up for Shane
My favorite is BB's story about unit 61 called something like "Of broken horns and broken dreams." I can't find it in the archives and I probably don't have the title exactly right. If anyone knows the exact title or how to find it, i think it would be a good one to be on here. Great thread by the way.
BB definitely had some awesome experiences and takes some unbelievable photos! I tried looking for that one and couldn't find it either.
one of my most memorable hunts ... and not in a good way

There is no place to gather, learn and experience the most incredible bow hunts you guys have experienced and shared than Bowsite. Thx all! C

If this doesn't belong let me know and I can edit the post. This is my brief story of how my son and I began hunting a few years ago. I was finally able to place my tag on an elk this season. So grateful.

A little "elk poetry" ...for the Holidays...
Thought I’d kick this collection of stories to the top.
Had somebody say something to me. I originally started this thread for a new hunter or anyone else to have a spot that some of the great stories from Bowsite past would have links that were recommended. I posted some of the pearls that I could retrieve from my oyster of a brain.
There are all kinds of great hunt recaps that I wish that I could remember the names. It’s like the name of the song that you can’t remember, but a snippet keeps rolling around in the back of your head.
If you remember a good one, post the link.
Help us all revisit the great ones.
If your favorite, or your personal epic recap isn’t here and you’d like to share it, post it up.
We can all enjoy them and I don’t have to feel like Chris Farley talking to Chris Farley again.
“Remember that one thread?... It was a hunt?... It was by (Lou, Kevin, Paul, Jake, Hunt, Ike, Scoot, the Pauls, on and on...)?... It had great pictures... Yeah. That was great! ... What was the title? I don’t know. It was great!”
I enjoyed the story 5 seasons ago Rick. Good to re read it again.

I dont remember the year, but the Paul's brother did a wilderness raft moose hunt together, 3 or so years ago? I believe there was a last minute bull near camp? …i cant find the thread. But it made my palms sweaty each time i read it i do remember that…. Been so long itll probably be like reading it anew. Anybody got a title?

Oh baby! Thanks treeline!
Love this thread and enjoy going back and reading many of these!
Thanks Treeline. Those are some of the threads that I was trying to remember.
Yeah, but still missing a few. One of yours that was excellent from around 2015 and another couple from otcwill…
And several that are up right now…
I appreciate the compliment Treeline, but that thread of mine is old enough that the pictures won’t come up.
Some GREAT stories and pics posted above! A little walk down bowsite memory lane!

Never really had a good place to put this one.
Here's a video log of a buddy and me on unit 54-9 in Wyoming from the second scouting trip to the very end.
From scouting trips in season the year before to epic adventures for the next full year. For me nothing gets much better. Twofer part 2 is my bull and Twofer Part 3 is my buddy 50 yards from a 370 bull laying on bare ground with no options.
Ya, well, what a season is all I can say. Had an epic this year as well without such great results, but being solo is no where near as cool as doing it with friends

Having my windshield replaced. Stuck in a waiting room with some guy who’s every other word is “Bro” and he’s playing crappy Rap “Music” at full volume on his phone. Enjoying re-reading these stories, but wishing that someone would add a few others.
